Coming Off Invega Sustenna (Page 8)

Updated

Hi,

I was given Invega Sustenna at 100mg a month for 10 months since Dec 5th. My last shot was on August 29th 2013.

The medication gave me severe anhedonia and I have lost the motivation and willpower to do anything. I can no longer experience joy, happiness, or pleasure from anything I do and I have no interest in doing anything. I constantly feel restless and uneasy and I just can't shake this feeling away no matter what. All of these started about a week after my first IV.

I have been off this medication for almost 3 months now and I have yet to feel any improvements. I have read that it has a long half life of 25-49 days and that it can stay in your body for 300 days. So does that mean I will have to wait a year to start feeling better?

Any info on someone who has been off this med would be greatly appreiciated. I am interested to learn how many months it takes to feel better after invega sustenna.

Thank you

Thank you for the information. You said 6 to 8 months to back to normal. Did it go down gradually or accelerate in its decline? I.e. What were months 4 and 5 like?

My ahedonia used to be really bad while I was on Resperidone I think because of the psychosis and the Invega injections didnt give me ahedonia but then again i only received 3 injections... sometimes though I do feel more bored than the usual like when I havent really talked to my friend... im kind of a depressed person and sometimes i dont feel pleasure from music or ive just been listening to the same type of music for a while and dont enjoy it but i come back to it eventually but yea somedays are really lows but i think thats just my depression... this drug actually fixed my deluded thoughts and paranoia i just didnt like that I basically couldnt climax and the weight gain.

I gained 45 pounds; pre-invega I was 115 lbs and now I'm 157 lbs. 0 improvement. Will this nightmare end? Memory problems, no emotions, brain dead. From reading john's posts it looks like even around a year off you're not completely recovered.

Johnny

Now that your one year off this drug, is your memory 100%? When did it improve? Thanks.

Johnny,

Thanks for replying, I'm 7 months off. I had 4 shots and I'm sleeping fine. It's good to hear that your memory is good, gives me hope that at least I'll get my memory back sooner. My memory was wiped out completely but I can remember things when I think back. How long did it take for your memory to be 100% back? Hows your appetite? I don't get hungry or thirsty and have to force myself. Are you able to work? My mind is blank and don't think I can work even around 6 half life's.

Jhonny,

Is there anything that has gotten easier with the months passing? Are you able to look after yourself living alone? How's the motivation? Do you enjoy the things now that you use to enjoy pre-invega?

Is it hard living by yourself cause of the inj's.? How long have you lived alone? I want to work part time and move out of my parent's place. Try intermittent fasting. It may help with the weight loss once your hormones are in normal range. So I guess I'm supposed to feel exactly the same for another 5 months, or will it get easier by 9/10 months?

How many shots did you have? I had 4 shots and 7 months off, hardly any improvement.

I have been on Invega for 4 months and it has been the worst drug ever. I have trouble concentrating and focusing on things, I also have trouble with my thoughts. My mind has been cloudy since I have been on this. This drug has been horrible. How long does it take to get Invega out of your system?

Thanks. I hope you recover quickly as well. A year is a long time. Take melatonin for sleep. I pass my 5th half-life next month. It looks like you start to get better around the 7th half-life, that's like in March. It honestly sucks. This is poison they are injecting people with, clueless *****s.

I'm completely med free for the last 6 months and 7 months off since my last injection. And I'm improving slowly and starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, I think I'm thru the worst
