Someone please help, I am 24 I just got out of the army recently and have moderate to severe degenerative disc disease, I currently don't have a vehicle so I am looking for help finding a few doctors in Colorado springs that are willing to prescribe oxycodone 30mg I AM NOT A DRUG SEEKER but that is wot has worked for me in the past. Since I have been out of the army I have been smoking marijuana for my pain and it helps a lot but I can find a job that will accept that as a legitimate prescription so I am wanting to get back on strong meds that allow me to do physical work, which I am currently unable to do. I just need a doctor that is willing to look at my records and see how serious I am and not be afraid to prescribe much needed pain medication

Re: Verwon (# 3)
The Doctors in Colorado will no longer prescribe both opioids and benzodiazepines. So don't take any benzos 10 days before lab work. Good luck getting the oxycodone. My Dr is taking me off that too. Scared to lose her license. I will probably have to turn to other means at 59 years of age. This is so messed up!
Did you find a Dr? I am in the same situation here in the springs.

Hi, I am new here to Colorado Springs and have a slipped disc and bulging disc. I'm looking for a doctor to prescribe me opioid medication to help me with my severe pain. It gets so bad I literally can't get out of bed or move positions without having help or being carried. I need to find a doctor fast before it gets that bad again. It had subsided and now is acting up again. I have MRI's to show that these conditions are true and not made up. A lot of doctors think I'm just looking for drugs because I'm only 28 with tattoos and piercings. They assume "drug seeker" without even really talking to me or looking at my MRI's. Yes, I've had past substance abuse problems but have been clean for 3 1/5 years. I do attend the methadone clinic solely for the purpose of not going into withdrawals. It does not help with any of my pain issues or get me "high." Once they see that they automatically dismiss me. I'm not trying to get "high" I just want the pain gone, so I can function normally to do everyday simple tasks!! So does anyone know of a Dr. in Colorado Springs that won't judge me for my appearance/past history, that will listen to me, and will put me on the right medications.
If you are 80% disabled you go VAMC for help, if in Colorado Springs go to CSHP they take military but not Medicare anymore. Don't get in trouble are street drugs, under overs all over. Not worth it! It's a matter of time. I had 13 FAILED spine surgeries fell at work 2/2/91 (guinea pig pedicle screw, damaged sciatic nerve) was on fentanyl patches, fentanyl lolly pops oxycontin 80 mg a day Oxycodone 5 mg 3 x's a day..not to mention Xanax I went dwn to 20 mg Oxyco 2 times a day, nothing, I mean nothing helps, and kept increasing, I myself weened off take only muscle relaxer (don't help) I suffer 24/7 bout won't become a functioning junkie, this going on 25 yrs. almost committed suicide, my pain is the same with or without oxy, I go pool therapy and now can stand straight (not long but it's a start), your choice, Never knew I was functions junkie, when I closed my eyes 1 second driving, something told me has to be Meds.. I never knew about drugs, never cared til recently. Be careful, I had/ have a angel on my shoulder.. Believe me. Good luck and be careful, what ever is in your nature will help you, or destroy you! Need to keep increasing as you become immune, to lower doses.
I have a severe migraine and have taken torodol by shot, phengren and immitrex and maxalt in the last few days. Can someone direct me to a doctor who can help immediately? Ive been to my urgent care etc... Normally they are not this bad. I need help asap. I am not a drug seeker, just someone who needs one or two oxys to knock this headache out.
Like I said, I went to my doc and to urgent care, I think they are so freaked out by drug seekers, they are reluctant to prescribe anything like it. I haven't had a headache like this in ages and all of my diagnostics are normal, just a bad one this time. Does anyone have any idea how I can get the medication I need?
do you have a VA Hospital in your area? That might be your best bet or at least they will have your records and might be able to refer you to a pain management clinic
Awesome u guys have been a big help, my issue now is finding ones that accept Tricare, does anyone know a good site to find which doctors accept tricare, and yes I am mostly trying to find a pain management specialist
Have you tried a pain management specialist?
Due to some recent crackdowns and some changes being made, that will likely be your best bet to get the help you need.
Due to improper and over prescribing from doctors that aren't specially trained to treat pain, the DEA and FDA are trying to transition people away from receiving such medications from general practitioners or surgeons for long-term treatment.
And due to some new regulations making them do much stricter account for each prescription they right, most won't take on new patients that need such medications.

And a piece of advice I can give you that may help is that when you do see a new doctor, don't ask for a specific medication. Let your records speak for themselves. If you ask for it, that's considered drug seeking behavior.
Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not just on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics).
However, In regards to finding a local pain doctor, I went ahead and posted a webpage (linked below) specific to locating pain management doctors in a given area. All you have to do is input your city or zip code for narrowed results. I think with a pain management specialist you'll have a much better chance of getting the medication you need, without a whole lot of reluctancy on their end:

I hope this info helps!
I would also like to add that I am 80% disabled due to my pain issues
