My husband was very sick last week. He got a prescription for codeine cough syrup from the doctor. He went back to work yesterday and was randomly drug tested. He is not worried about it showing positive for codeine. He IS worried because he thinks he took more than was prescribed to him. Should he be worried? It wasn't anything he did on purpose. ## Since they are not the prescribers and have no information on the rest of his medical history to know what levels should be in his body, it is unlikely they will even bother to look at them. Does this pill contain codeine? ## The imprint that fits your description of a round pink pill is actually "GG 235" as opposed to "GG 225"; which is round and white. This pink pill is Promethazine hydrochloride (50mg); which is an antihistamine primarily used to treat allergy symptoms. To answer your question though, Promethazine in and of itself does not contain any codeine; nor does this pink tablet. I hope this helps to answer your question!

does it have ibruprofen ## Hi gail, From what I can find, it appears this is a product from the UK called Co-Codamol, which contains 8mgs of Codeine + 500mgs of Acetaminophen; making it a narcotic pain reliever. 879 on one side, g102c on other. off white and extremely old ## I can't find a listing for this, but that is most likely due to the fact that it is so old, if it's no longer manufactured, then it wouldn't be included in the current databases that list pill imprints and identifications. Where was it found? ## it was found in a medicine cabinet of a place i moved into. i have found similar pills with similar imprints but nothing that matches 100%. my guess was that it is so old. its an off colored white.

is distalgesic also known as Proxyvon ## An incredibly painful surgical procedure to place a metal plate in my arm caused me to lose my job because of pain. Distalgesic relieved my pain so I got my job and function back;it saved me.Why do you say Distalgesic therapy is wrong? I am grateful for it. Codeine is good for my pain, too; without these medicines, I would have been unable to function and would have been on benefit, Perhaps the pain would have made me commit suicide. This leads me to believe its not a U.S. prescription drug, unless it is very, very new. It could possibly be an over the counter item or a foreign medication. Can you provide any more information? How can codeine show up in my urinalysis if I don't take it. I do take Oxycontin, Oxycodone [APAP], and Dexedrine spansules? ## Maybe the urinalysis was simply looking for opiates - Both Codeine and Oxycodone are opiates, so that sounds like a possibility. I would double check to see exactly what the test was looking for. Do you have any other questions or information to add? Please post back if you do. ## If you take codeine it will 100% show up morphine.

Hi - I was taking Codeine for a number of years for severe pain, i was told i was suffering with osteoarthritis and eight Cocodamol a day did not touch the pain, whilst i was taking Codeine i was angry and little did i know my BP was very high, it was only when my BP was taken that i found out my BP was touching 200/ to cut a long story short after seeing a Neurologist and having tests it was discovered that my pain was being caused by Hereditary Motor Sensory Peripheral Neuropathy, i was taken of Codeine and put on Lyrica and Tramadol, my pain is now controlled i am no longer angry and my BP has been normal ever-since. So the story is this if you are taking any medication containing Codeine and are suffering with HIGH BP it may well be Codeine, so mention this to your doc. Warm Regards...

Took a pill called tec was told it would help with pain.....is out dangerous I only took 1/2..would there be addictive tendencies? Only doing this once ## Which pill with the TEC marking did you take? There are some that contain Codeine, but not all. If it did contain Codeine, it is a narcotic, so it would not be advisable to drive, if you are not used to taking such medications and yes, it can have addictive tendencies.

I have taken 2 full bottle in a day Corex i find plenty of problems like Eyesight has decreased, cant concentrate, feel exhausted, cant run fast, hands and face shiver whenever i am frightened, feelin guilt plz help me. ## Have you consulted a doctor? Why did you take so much? Corex contains the antihistamine Chlopheniramine and the narcotic Codeine, so the types of problems you are experiencing are to be expected if you take too much of it, in a short period of time. You really do need to consult a doctor to check and see if you have harmed yourself and get proper treatment, if necessary.
