Clonazepam Ingredients Mylan Brand Vs Teva Vs Accord (Page 3) (Top voted first)

Updated

Please help with this, i have taken the mylan brand for several years, when the pharmacy could no longer order it they ordered Teva, it immediately gave me pains that seemed to be in my chest....kind of the opposite of what it's supposed to do. So with Mylan being available though only two pharmacies, someone mentioned accord...but what is the difference of fillers. could you simply list all the ingredients for all three brands so if Accord matches Mylan i'm ok?

Re: Gnrcdrgsallsuck (# 34) Expand Referenced Message

Unless Mylan gets back on the market, I'm stuck with Accord. It causes anxiety which I never had. I took clonazepam Mylan 1 mg for sleep. The Accord is too strong for me. The Mylan yellow did not work for me. I got the green 1 mgs and cut them in half. I call Mylan customer service to see what's up with their clonazepam. They told me to keep ckg back. They still show the pill jpegs on their page. The Accord may work for people who need it for panic attacks but if that's not the reason I take clonazepam, it seems to cause panic attacks. I don't like them and I don't like feeling drugged.

Re: SJ76 (# 39) Expand Referenced Message

Every patient is different. I think it depends what it's taken for. The Mylan works for somebody that needs something but the other ones are just too strong. If something doesn't work for an individual, they will get what it's supposed to treat people for and the heart stuff is mentioned a lot here from a few bloggers and the too dopey stuff as well. We are all different. For me, Mylan did what I needed it to do without interfering with driving, my heart and I didn't get too dopey to function.

Just got Solco generic and it’s terrible. Like a sugar pill.

Good luck Eric! I am searching for the same reason. I did great with Mylan, now I am at a loss. Thanks for recommending the list. I have been googling ingredient lists like crazy this week looking for something similar. I'm trying different options as I am not rich enough to purchase name brand and what I've found is that some very similar ingredients in ones I've checked are some I've already tried (like Accord, for ex.)!! The ingredients were in a different order, though. It's all very confusing and alarming. If you liked Mylan, DON"T take Solco! Good luck.

Re: GSH (# 68) Expand Referenced Message

No, it is not close to TEVA. I don't want to pay the big bucks for Klonopin, so I'm hoping these will work eventually. My prescription says 3 to 4 tablets per day as directed. That means I can take another half one at 5 p.m., because that's when the panic seems to set in. I take two at about 10 p.m., but they don't make me sleepy like TEVA did, so I will probably take another half one at night now. I have a hard time falling asleep and wake up frequently. Big Pharma is determined to get rid of generics and make everyone pay through the nose or go without. They don't have a clue what they are doing to us.

Re: GSH (# 72) Expand Referenced Message

I have another appt on Aug 21. Honestly I feel lost and helpless. I'm taking Xanax in the evening to take the edge off, but that only lasts a couple of hours. I am not understanding how even the brand name Klonopin isn't working for me either. I mean its been over a week, about 2, it should of kicked in. It's not like I'm switching to a different medication. Its the same thing except different manufacturer. This is so messed up. Thank you Mylan for discontinuing the medication, no warning, nothing. I'm very pissed to say the least. People's lives depend on these meds, and these pharmaceutical companies could care less.

Re: GSH (# 82) Expand Referenced Message

I absolutely have a prescription. 90 x 1mg Klonopin a month for well over a decade. All have been TEVA brand until recently. My next refill is in 2 days, so I appreciate the CVS and Walgreens recommendations very much. I will have my prescription transferred from Kroger (Accord only) in attempts to get Actavis or name brand Klonopin. I completely respect the law and the effects benzos have on me. At this point, I want to get off of them completely, because this is a disaster. My next doctor's appointment is September 20th, so just trying to survive until then. I will tell them exactly what's going on, and ask for a plan to wean off benzos completely. Even though I'm also prescribed to one 1mg XANAX a day, I don't like the short term effect or the feeling compared to TEVA Klonopin.

I don't have a Psychiatrist (yet), but am hoping my current family doctor and/or nurse practitioner will get me through this. In the meantime, this site and discussion thread has really helped me out. Only here can I find anyone that can relate, nowhere else, and that alone is helping me cope tremendously. Thanks again everyone

Re: Beatadeadhorse (# 109) Expand Referenced Message

I gotcha. The problem is, when you’ve taken something for 11 years, it’s not that easy when nothing else is working. I’ve tried 5 different brands for Clonazepam, Ativan, Valium, and Ambien is for sleep, not anxiety disorder. Sometimes when you fight, like I am to relay the information to Mylan, and the implications of taking the drug off the market can do, is better than whining about it. It’s the only medication that has worked for me. Everyone is different. I’m trying to inform people of what I’ve learned and what they can do by calling these companies and letting them know that taking a product off the market, without fair warning, is having consequences.

Absolutely, we all need to band together for a class action lawsuit regarding generic clonazepam and also generic Adderall... the FDA States- a 20% not 23% is acceptable in differences of the levels of the active ingredient aka clonazepam in this subject. If anyone would like to discuss a class action or a suit from suffering due to any of these mishandled medications that are not equal in any sort and some don’t even show up on a drug panel, {edited for privacy}, feel free to discuss with me.

Re: Bugs (# 118) Expand Referenced Message

Wrong... Actavis replaced Teva and is owned by Teva.
Northstar was manufactured by Sandoz but marketed by Northstar. Sandoz quit manufacturing so Sandoz and Northstar are no longer made.
From the FDA website: "Sandoz Inc. has made a business decision to permanently discontinue Clonazepam Tablets, marketed by Northstar Rx LLC

I take 1 mg per day of clonazepam. I can only take the green TEVA or the MYLAN. All of the others make me sick.

I have been on Clonazepem for 8 yrs now and was on it for 10 yrs in the nineties - until I sold my Company and had the time to go away to a hard core Detox center - and it was the worst detox of anyone in there including meth heads, heroin addicts. The worst was days 25-45... but was great for next 5 yrs till my wife almost died - and went back on and also got into a new business with my retirement on the line. That's been hard - so back on them...

Was on mylan for a few years till i had to switch pharmacies and they put me on a Accord - that did not even work! I was having full blown panic mania - so my Doc switched me to Teva and it was miraculous! Was very potent - more so IMHO than the Mylan - and if you read all the blog,s the general overwhelming consensus is the Teva is the best generic by far. Now Teva bought Actavis and stopped making their Clonazepam. So they put me on Actavis, and while not as Horrific as Accord - was not good as i was in constant anxiety attacks, shortness of breath - etc.

Don't know why you had chest issues w Teva as it is as good (better per general consensus) as Mylan. Teva said if enough people call and complain they may put their version back on the market (Call 888-838-2872). My Doc just ordered the Teva 1 mg Dissolvable Wafers WHICH ARE STILL BEING MADE BY TEVA - I hope they work like the 3 x 1mg tablets I am on until i can get back to Detox and go thru hell again. It's a sin that my original Psychiatrist who put me on Xanax - never told me that these Benzo's were addictive - in fact, they are THE MOST ADDICTIVE SUBSTANCE on the planet!!

Anyone, if you can stay away - don't get started on them - use all the Natural crap (Valerian, 5HTP, Gaba, Kava etc) and Exercise every Morn - 20-30 mins on the Elliptical, getting your heart racing - is like taking a handful of Valium without the fog! And meditation-mindfulness free apps for phone along w diaphragmatic breathing, the MOST powerful way to take you out of your Sympathetic (Flight/Fight) nervous system!!

Anyway- just sharing a 20 yr user of these Benzo's and brands and sharing some learnings. I hope it helps someone. Jonathan

The accord is a good brand in my opinion. I took teva for a really long time then when I got the accord it changed my life for the better. The accord did take some adjustment but I find it to be much less intense but last through the day I don't get all aggravated when it wears off. I only take a MG/day but it works just be patient.

Either go to a small mom and pops pharmacy that carries it or have them order SOLCO. Most Walgreens will also order the SOLCO brand for you.

I had the same experience with Clonazepam. It seems to lack any sedative qualities-which is exactly why I need it.This is a poor quality medication.

I use to take low doses of the Teva brand of Clonazepam and it worked fine, but now I was given Clonazepam from a company called Accord, it seems to provide no sedation what so ever.

Thank you Accord spokesperson. Teva is in every CVS and Walgreens on the planet and it’s terrible. I wish I could find Accord locally cause it was better than Teva to me
