Clonazepam Help Me (Page 21) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have always used the same brand of clonazepam. However they changed what is in the medication. I've been gravely ill because my body can't take the change. Now I want to not take it any longer because it's making me ill. How can I detox slowly if I don't have a decent batch of clo that agrees with me? If anyone has any real information please let me know. I'm ill feeling every day if I take it it makes me ill and get withdrawal If I don't take it I get still getting withdrawal.
Re: Sarah (# 20)
Have you tried Lorazepam (Ativan)? It is a sister med to clonazepam (Klonopin). I have been on anxiety meds since I was in my early 20s. I suffer from acute Panic Disorder. In the 80s it was Valium they prescribed patients. Then it became (HORRIBLE) XANAX WHICH is by far the worst... hits you hard... that is another family member of these benzos. I then began taking (as needed only) Klonopin...then switching to Ativan. Very similar... I want to stress that if you haven't formed a habit of having to take any of these benzodiazepines on a daily basis, where your tolerance level becomes so high, please be careful. These are no joke. They are HIGHLY ADDICTIVE and cold turkey abruptly will be your worst nightmare. I won't go into detail, just do your research please. An honest doctor will tell you the truth. I've been through it, and it's Hell.... they say it's harder than kicking any opiate and you feel like your dying. Take as prescribed and don't abuse. Run out a few days early? Or accidentally misplace them? No one cares. No early refills. Plz plz don't end up like I did. Take as directed and only as needed. It's so easy to build a tolerance to Benzos. Mix with alcohol and it could be fatal. Statistics show. Hey. If you need it take it. It's saved my life many times.. and I can leave my house and function in the real world. Sorry for the novel. I'm just trying to help shed truth on the risks of abuse. It happens.... so if Klonopin isn't working, ask your trusted doctor about Ativan. Btw. SANDOZ brand Ativan is not very effective either I find. At all. WATSON is highest rated and most effective. Love and light.
Re: Sarah (# 11)
I just was changed to the Accord and they seem stronger than the Teva brand. Hope they work for you. Walmart carries Accord in NM stores for anyone who may be looking.....
Re: 5 things on the internet which is very John Milton (# 8)
Is a round pink pill no markings just a line a clozepam I was told it was made from china
Re: Sarah (# 383)
I believe the reports to the FDA are just part of the data they collect on people who have had side effects from their drug. They then look into the complaints that are most common. They don't personally respond to your report as this is more about quality control vs customer service. Call the actual manufacturer of the drug instead of the pharmaceutical company. They may be more helpful as they only do the manufacturing. Many are in other countries though....like Accord has their meds manufactured in India. Good luck and always remember you have RIGHTS!!!
Re: Jenn (# 396)
Thanks for your concern but I've already tried the Accord and they didn't work well for me. I'm glad that you found a manufacturer that you're able to take. I'm ok with the Mylan but for the last two months I've been having a hard time finding them. They were on backorder for a while. I called Mylan and they said that the 100 ,ct was on backorder but that they have the 90 and 1000 ct but none of the thirteen drugs stores I called had them. I'm going to try again soon. Again thanks for your help.
May God Bless you!

Hi. I'm in Eastern NC and I know Walmart sometimes would have 1mg accord blue and 1mg teva. Now I get 2mg teva white ones and they are great. They have somewhat of a minty taste if u chew them or after swallowing them, but u gotta call around and before u get any new script filled if it's newly written check every pharmacy for the brand u want n ask them if they always have it because if you for say get a script with 3 refills u can only transfer that med 1x. If it's a new script go where u want. Benzo WD is so awful I wish I never took them as I cannot get off. Why? Because I never have enough taper, it's like ok I want off these pills please put me on a 4 to 6 month taper starting with a long acting benzo (kpins or Valium) at higher MG per day n slowly decrease me until I'm down to nothing so my brain n gaba receptors can heal n function. If not n forbid I run out which I've been blessed IDK how for this long. I went only 24 hours once n I was on the verge of seizures and I was pacing my driveway n out of my mind. I can't function, talking in jumbled stutter, can't go to work, hot and cold, no sleep n no eating for literally 2 weeks. Last time I kicked I should of stayed off. I was 100lbs n detox here is 7 days of only 3 to 5 Valium, n it's 10mg 3x daily for 2 days n down hill from there. I'm struggling but trying. And I'm on methadone so I'm tapering off it 1st then I can go freely to see a psych who can help. It's hard n I've been an opiate addict for 27 yrs on n off. And I'd rather quit opiates over benzos cause u don't know when u will ever become normal again. I'm trying. Anyone know of any help out there to taper let me know.
Re: NCgirl73 (# 400)
Thanks for trying to help. As I stated in my previous messages the Mylan brand is the only one that helps me and they are continuously on backorder. I pray that you will be able to recover from your additions and find peace and good health. God Bless.
Re: Sarah (# 3)
Never EVER stop cold turkey as benzodiazepines withdrawal can result in fits and strokes. Look up the Ashton manual and start cutting using that way. It’s tried and tested and I wish I could tell you it would be easy but it’s not. You will feel desperate, tearful, chronically depressed and may need time in a unit, as I did. Both clonazepam & Ativan AKA Rivotril AKA Klonopin are two of the worst to cut down from. I am now stable on just 10mg of Diazepam and am staying on that. I wish you all the luck in the world. It’s so hard as we start taking them to help with anxiety but we end up taking them to feel normal and they are oil soluble so end up in muscle and bone. Maybe you have a group like battle against tranquilizers where you are? Please do tell your GP as they know this is a huge problem & most are very kind in helping. What you need to do is to find the total amount you take and the Ashton manual helps you do that, you then go over fully to Diazepam as it has a long half life and stops the withdrawals. You then basically cut 10% every 5 to 6 weeks and it’s not so bad that way. I really wish you all the very best.
Re: Jools (# 402)
Thank you so much for your information very thoughtful of you. Unfortunately when I changed doctors three years ago my doctor tried to do just that. He prescribed new meds instead of prescribing the clonazepam and I ended up with lots of floaters in my eyes at once and the second time I tried to switch myself because Sandoz pharmaceuticals changed what was in there clonazepam and I tried to stop taking it because Sandoz and no other clonazepam was working right and were making me ill I ended up with a stroke that damaged my eyesight. Still suffering from the effects of these dangerous meds that the greedy pharmaceuticals companies are producing. Again thanks! But it's too late. Still trying to recover from the stroke. I hope that your posting will help others. God Bless.
Re: Jenn (# 396)
Hi Jenn, Thank you for your concern. It turned out that Mylan is no longer going to produce clonazepam and I happened to have some Accord from a while ago and I had no choice but to switch to Accord and they have been working well for me so far. I've been trying them for about three weeks now and thank God they are working well. However, the Teva brand definitely make me very ill. God Bless you for your concern.
Re: Sarah (# 20)
I have been taking Klonipin(clonezepam) for several years now and I thi nk they changed my Manufacturer for mine as well.I always freferred valium to Klonipin anyway, however my physician said that valium was much ore addictive and dangerous.I don't know about that, however I find myself taking several klonipin at night to try and get some sleep.I think I will go to another Physiciand who prescribes valium for my Aunt.I just think it's a better medjication and I NEVER took more than the prescribed dose UNTIL NOW.
What do fake Clonazepam look like? My friend had a pill that says 93 833 on one side and a line on the other side. It was lime or light green and round. Are these fake? If so, how can you tell?
Re: Liz (# 410)
Try to check on the internet what the image of the clonazepam1mg Teva brand looks like.
Re: Sarah (# 3)
Agreed.. something drastically wrong with Sandoz Clonazepam.
Re: 5 things on the internet which is very John Milton (# 8)
Go to {edited for policy reasons} I’ve been using the site for 6 years for stuff my GP would prescribe but is held back by new laws in the U.K. I have Crohn’s, SMA (spinal muscular atrophy) and disc degenerative disease but the killer is I have what used to be called Wegeners granulomatosis or now GPA. Granulomatosis with polyangitis, they changed the name because Dr Wegener was a Nazi party member but most were, to save their lives.
This next part goes to ALL people on benzodiazepines - newsflash, the pills are not different but your tolerance is. I’ve filled cheap Galenika from Serbia and they are superb as is their Xanax and every other med they make. Unless you are like me and this poster, then my advice is to look up the Ashton manual for slowly cutting back your benzos. The fact is that we will always find something wrong rather than admit our addiction. Sorry if this offends but I did it and came off in a year. That is considered a quick detox from benzos! The body gets used to any benzo and it manifests itself in many awful ways.
I am 54 and my use of benzos ruined my 30’s and 40’s. I now take morphine but I’ve no choice due to the diseases though I now only take 10mg of diazepam only, even though I could have much more prescribed, I don’t want to go back to the hell I was in when using benzos in handfuls and as and when I felt like it. I was very much a prisoner on prescriptions.
Good luck to all but please understand that the generics have to pass stringent tests by your FDA or they would not be allowed to prescribe them. For me, I used to say x or Y Clonazepam was not right but, fact is, it was me who got used to and wanted what I was used to. I’m sorry if this offends some but it’s the addiction and not the pill, really.
Good luck and god bless you all
Asak your physician,be it psychiatrist or M.D. to try another anti-depressant such as valium or zanaz which would help you get off the klonipin smoothly and might be better suited for you
Re: NCgirl73 (# 400)
Not in your country but look up battle against tranquilisers. I hope you have something similar
Re: Jools (# 413)
Admit our addiction? This is so ridiculous. I see three doctors, pain, pst, psych, at an addiction medicine practice. If I were addicted to any of this stuff I would be detected.
Strange I never ask for more meds in order to "chase a high."
I may have to be stepped off of benzos, but that is dependence and not addiction... much different things.
You need to be careful who throwing around terms like addiction, especially when casting a mass-blanket over all use and users, which is not appropriate without being a doctor and examining a given patient.
Is their no severe anxiety? If so, how is it treated?
I was given teva 833 brand when I formerly took Sandoz E64.They're both generic however I find the Sandoz to be infinetly more potent and measurably more effective
Try the generic brand from Accord. It has binders that make the medicine act differently than other generics. Like Teva uses cornflower which breaks down slowly. Look at the ingredients that are not the actual medicine as they can really make a difference. I was struggling like you until my pharmacy changed to this brand. I was suspicious until I tried one and it was soooooooooooo wonderful to find relief. Everyone reacts differently, but I hope you can try this brand. Wishing you the best!!! Hang tight!!!!
