(Newest replies first)

Updated

My doctor started me on Clonotril this week. I am taking 10 mg - 5 in the morning and 5mg at night. I feel weak and as though something is going on in my head and my body. Is this symptom common? Will this symptom diminsh? I also take Resipodone and nexito.

I’m with David on this. I’d even go so far as to say stop anyway as I can attest to the damage and devastation I have suffered due to use of prescribed benzodiazepines and I’m reliably told that both lorazepam & clonazepam are the worst of all then Xanax or alprazolam.
Friend, I lost firstly my job, then my woman then my house and even car. Although better now, I’m talking over 25 years of hell.
I’d only ever consider taking just one dose if it was a life saving measure. I’m in the process of writing a book on it. If it reaches and helps even 1 person then I will feel a worthwhile exercise

Only people I know who take that amount are people with a Seizure disorder. Panic/Anxiety is 5 mg for extreme, normal would be 2 1/2 to 3 mg a day.

That’s a huge dose. My own problems started when I was started on benzodiazepines and I’d NEVER got my life back and been very much a prisoner on prescriptions for many years. Can I ask why such a large dose? A seasoned user with GABA receptors already used to benzos would struggle to even stay awake in such a high dose. The normal daily dose is 2.5 mg at night. I’m stunned that anyone could be *started* on 10 mg. Please don’t drive or operate powertools and try just 2.5. It really beggars belief that you are on such a high dose.

Would you describe the weak feeling as any of the following?:
drowsiness
dizziness
unsteadiness
problems with coordination

These are just a few side effects taken from the list on MedlinePlus, that I think may be contributing to how you're feeling:
nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a682279.html#side-effects

If you're certain that Clonazepam is the culprit for this side effect, then in my opinion the best way to effectively eliminate it is to stop taking what's causing it, and even consider adopting a more natural approach.

I hope this helps!
