I have been using clobetasol Propionate Ointment USP,0.05 on and off for 6 months for contact dermititis (hands) I noticed also to have a redness and sometimes sore area on the penis (one area the skin is smooth and shiney)....can this ointment be used in the groin area...it appears to be also inflamed...need help.

As I understand you should speak with your doc about amount and frequency if u use it on the face or groin. It can have an atrophy affect on treated area's skin in essence leaving it tender, tight and raw similar to a rug burn. These r easily treated but still...... Also it indicates you can have varios serious affects as well if too much is absorbed. The skin on the face and groin is softer and more absorbant so again the doc may alter the amount and or freqency if he directs you to apply it to those areas. Sorry I'm not able to be more specific but the literature I have found basically says the doc knows best and not a whole lot of specifics. Good luck and Godspeed

Holy crap that's not what you do with it. It goes on your butt, not the groin. That's why you got the rash and etc. It helps keep your butt under control so you can sit down for long periods of time.

Based on my research, this ointment is not intended for use on or around the groin area unless instructed to do so by a doctor. From the sounds of it, you may also be having a reaction to this ointment because it's only supposed to be used for a short period of time, like two weeks.

Did your doctor give you permission to use it as frequently as you are?

My doctor prescribed me clobetasol propionate ointment to put on my groin area 2-3 times per day. However I have noticed that the ointment burns more with every application... Should I call my doctor and see what to do next or is this normal? I have already been on all the other creams she could prescribe for me and none of them worked... The next step for me is a biopsy... I'm scared so any advice helps...

I ve been using clobetasol propionate and salicylic acid ointment evry night for a month n now have stopd using it for 2 nights but got rashes after stoping d application. Should I stop using it or shall I continue,if I stop using then wat sud I do to stop d rashes or ane other skin problems...

Be careful with that one ok. It can cause groin swelling of the lymph nodes. Let me know if i can help.
