My staph on my upper inner thought developed a knott about the size of my palm and I have been takin Clindamycin for two days now physically I'm feeling better no more fever but the knot on my leg is not improving any and it draining is it just because it built up in my system before I got the meds I had it for 4 days and been taking the medicine since Sunday? So my question is will the medicine make the knot go away? ## Hello, Lexi! How are you? It may, or it may not. It really depends on what the knot actually is, for instance, if you developed a cyst from the infection, then it may need to be drained by your doctor, the antibiotic may not make it go away. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a history of sinus infections, i have this medication left from previous infection its expired on 3/15/2012 is it still usable. can not go to the dr. no insurance. ## Hello, Hazeleyes! How are you? No, it isn't a good idea to use an expired antibiotic. They lose efficacy over time and that creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, that problem may also be increased if you don't have enough to complete a full course of treatment. Are there any low-income clinics in your area? They are usually much cheaper than going to a private physician.

Is 150mg Clindamycin still good from 2009. I desperately need an antibiotic to take tonight. Thank you, ## Hello, Terri! How are you? How do you know that you have an infection and desperately need an antibiotic? And no, one that old will have lost most of its efficacy and taking it could result in your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. It would be best to just dispose of it and see your doctor for a new prescription, if they confirm that you have an infection.

is clindymyacin hydrochloride going to be safe to give to my dog ## Hi thunder, Based on my research, Clindamycin is commonly prescribed for dogs, cats, as well as a number of other household pets. However, you should probably still contact your local veterinarian for proper advice on dosing and administration. It's very important to give the full 7-10 day course of Clindamycin or as prescribed, so you'll want to make sure you have enough on hand to follow through with treatment until the infection is completely gone. Has your pet had any reactions to previous medications you've given it? You can learn more about this drug on the page for Clindamycin Details I hope this info helps! ## I had to take some Dog Lamisil once, but Clindamycin is for people too! I have taken it as ...

My friend just recently found out she has ghonorea. A close friend gave her the RX692 capsule. She doesnt like hospitals so can she take it. ## Hi, Niko! If she doesn't like hospitals/doctors, how does she know it's gonorrhea? While it may be a possibility, there are also several other possibilities and only a doctor that does an exam and testing is going to be able to give her a definitive diagnosis and provide the proper treatment. And if she only has one capsule, or a couple that were left overs from someone else's prescription, she isn't going to have enough to clear up such a dangerous infection. This is a 150mg Clindamycin capsule and it's not usually used to treat gonorrhea, unless it's the injectable form. Learn more Clindamycin details here.

can it be used after discard date ## It does not become dangerous, after the expiration date, but it will lose efficacy, meaning it won't work as well to treat an infection as it did, when it was new. This does create the possibility of developing antibiotic resistance. Therefore, you should see your doctor for a new prescription. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I can't afford a doctor but exp was a year ago. Will they hurt me? Woke up with a tooth abscess and that's y they were given to me in the first place. can u take this for the flu ## Hi angeletta, Antibiotics in general will not treat a viral infection such as the common cold or flu. However you can learn more about the uses of this medication here: Clindamycin Details The flu treatment you should take largely depends on your symptoms. For example, if you have nasal or sinus congestion, then a decongestant may be most helpful, as opposed to an antibiotic. There are also numerous cough medicines with various combinations of decongestants, antihistamines, analgesics/antipyretics, cough suppressants, and expectorants, all depending on what symptoms you have. I hope this advice helps!
