Treatment estimated between 6 months to 9 months. ## Can Clarithromycin 500 MG be taken every 8 hours?

If so, I believe the marking is GG C9 and it contains 500mgs of the antibiotic Clarithromycin, which is used to treat various types of infections. 1 REPLY Updatedive been taking this drug for3 days on the 2nd day i woke up very dizzy it lasted from 5am till 1pm,today i woke up dizzy also but not as bad,i am taking 1 tbs of nyquil at bed time and melitonin pills and i also drink 2 glasses of white wine as a sleep aid before bed while watching tv ,are the other products ime useing at bed time causing the dizzyness?? ## Clarithromycin is an antibiotic that is used to treat many types of infections. Dizziness is a possible side effect from it, as well as from the NyQuil, it may even be made worse by combining the two, since the side effects from one medication to another can often aggravated each other. I HAVE LOST MY SENSE OF SMELL OR SOMETIMES I HAVE A TERRIBLE SMELL THAT MAKES ME SICK ANY ONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM? ## Clarithromycin can cause an alteration in smell and taste, the problem could also be related to the sinus issue, or it may be both. It should go away once your course of treatment is over. Have you spoken to your doctor about it? ## Yes I lost my sense of smell ever since being prescribed Clarithromycin. I go through bouts where every thing smell like smoke and I don't smoke nor am I near it. I hate this. My quality of life has declined as a result.

It was delivered from Lyncourt Drugs in Syracuse, NY and made me violently ill. I was vomiting, coudln't stand or visually focus 12 hours after taking ONE pill. I'd been on it for two weeks recently -purchased at a local Rite Aide with no problem. (Don't know that imprint number but the pills looked slightly different). Even a Pharmacist at a Kinney Drugs couldn't find the number. The dispensing Pharmacist Christine Verillo at Lyncourt said she was too busy with customers...
