I emailed them twice and never got a reply. I have checked with every pharmacy chain I could think of and no one could get it. Either they wouldn’t special order it, or even those who looked it up couldn’t find it available.

I’m having the same issue. Dr reddys was the only one that worked for me and I just emailed them too. Did they reply to you? Have you been able to find it?

I took it last Tuesday at 9pm and 30mins later was breaking out in hives, had the worst headache I have ever had and became incredibly nauseous. After zero sleep and my whole body covered in hives I had to go to the ER 4am Wednseday morning. So 7 hours after I took it. Pharmacist didn't really want to believe me till I told her I was at the ER and the 3 new prescriptions were from them. I also have changed ANYTHING in my house that could have effected my body the way it did. Its now been a week later and I can't get the hives to go away permanently so I now get to go have an allergy test next Tuesday.

Yeah it sucks. I just got used to a new mfr and might have to switch again. I talked to the pharm tech and she said there are supply problems with the one I just switched to. If I’m gonna have to go through this every time there’s a change, I think I would rather just get off of them entirely. It’s not worth it to take a week or two adjusting every time this happens. I can’t just put my life on hold while things stabilize. I have an appt. w/my psych in a couple weeks and I’m gonna talk to her about it.

The pharmacies go from one manufacturer to another constantly. With some changes I had the withdrawal symptoms, which are headaches, fatigue, tingling in the face and lips. I think that the change of mfr is the problem, rather than one mfr being good and another bad. I had problems when I changed from one that I was used to, to a new one, got used to the new one and then changed back to the old one and had the same withdrawal symptoms. Now I just tell my pharmacist that I need the same mfr every time. That works until the mfr discontinues.

Wow. So amazing to read all these stories. I have been on Dr. Reddy’s from Walmart for many years. Now it seems like that manufacturer is no longer available. I have tried several different pharmacies and no one seems to be able to get it. The company website, however, still lists it.

Has anyone else had trouble finding Dr. Resdy’s? I have sent them an email and will hopefully find out what the issue is.

Walmart is now using Aurobindo. First pill I took, I got a terrible headache, my ears were ringing loudly, and had trouble falling asleep. Now I’m feeling it more body-wide... I just feel “off”. I’ve picked up another generic from Walgreens and may try that instead.

This stuff really sucks. I wish the medical community would recognize that not all genetics are the same!

Me too, aurobindo works for me other brands do not. When changing manufacturers it was like I went off them completely. I have been on them for many years, happily, and don't want to change. They keep me peaceful and calm. If it works don't fix it.

Yes, I am having that issue right now. The Walgreens pharmacy used to have Mylan, which worked for me. Then last month, they switched to Aurobindo bc they were having issues getting replenishment from Mylan. I tried the Aurobindo and felt good. Now this month Walgreens switched to Amneal. I've only taken it for 2 days and I feel like my anxiety has gotten worse. I had asked Walgreens about why they switch generic brands and she said it's all dependent on what Walgreens decides to buy. I asked if they could stock more than one brand of generic but she said they don't normally do that. I've read other reviews and people have said that they were able to get their Walgreens pharmacist to stock the generic that worked for them. If I was able to afford the brand name medication that worked the best for me, I wouldn't be in this situation. But most insurance plans have dropped it from their formulary list as a covered drug. Unless I want to pay out-of-pocket $430 a month, I'm forced to try other drugs, which may or may not make me feel good. That's what's wrong with pharmaceutical and insurance companies today. They shouldn't be the ones to decide what medication you should be taking or raise the price of the medication so high that you can't afford it (if your insurance doesn't cover it). Pharma companies also shouldn't be able to raise prices so high on brand name drugs once a generic hits the market. I know for myself, I respond better to brand name drugs than I do to generics.

Torrent does not work for me. My local RiteAid switched from Mylan to Torrent, and I am having a terrible time after 1.5 months. Apparently, there are distribution or manufacturing delays with Mylan which prompted them to switch. After the CVS pharmacist called RiteAid with transfer my script, the RiteAid pharmacy manager was happy to order a different generic and even put a note in my file to keep a different generic in stock.

I'm astounded by how many people here complain about the effects of different generics. It's a crime that a) formularies can be so different for generics and b) pharmacies generally only carry one generic brand.

Oh, I forgot in my previous response: A side effect i felt at first, but that faded away, was a bit of anxiety. I take the meds for depression, not anxiety.

I started with Aurobindo. Initially some bad dreams, but that passed and worked well. Then had from Walgreens, which was by Mylan I think, and had really terrifying nightmares which decreased in frequency but continued in the short time I used that brand. Also this Walgreens supplied Citalopram did not seem as smoothly or consistently effective on my depression/mood as the Aurobindo. Now back on Aurobindo. Again initial couple of days bad dreams, but passed and drug is effective for me.

Not in a good way I was sad depressed felt empty and dizzy has anyone else had this reaction and if so what advice can you give me to find someone with my original manufacturer of CIPLA. If so I would appreciate hearing from you thanks so much God's blessings!

I had no issues with the Amneal Citalopram, but I did with the Aurobindo brand Citalopram. Mylan Citalopram caused me to feel out of sorts more than the Aurobindo Citalopram. You can ask the pharmacy manager where you get your prescription medication from to order the Amneal brand Citalopram. I work for Walgreen's, so I asked the pharmacy manager to order the Amneal brand Citalopram and she did.

I will say I used the 20 mg Citalopram from Torrent in the past. It didn't work for me. It seems the 40 mg and cutting in half works better than taking one 20 mg twice a day. So weird!

I've used Torrest since 1998 when I got my thyroid removed. I take Citalopram HBR 40 mg. It's been the only one that works for me. I've tried other brands and nothing else worked. Had to switch to Walgreens and use their brand. Been taking for 6 weeks, and I can tell they aren't working as well. I'm going back to CVS so I can get Torrent. They work that much better.
