Cimetidine Vs Ranitidine

Are Cimetidine and Ranitidine the same? The doctor told my daughter (who is 8 months pregnant) she could take Ranitidine for acid reflux. All she has is Cimetidine. We were just wondering if it's the same?

They are different medications, but both are generally considered safe during pregnancy, but it is always best to double check with her doctor to be sure.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, and diarrhea.

Is she on any other medications?
