Chronic Kidney Disease

I just had bloodwork done, and results showed Chronic Kidney Disease. At this time the only explanation from MD was that kidneys are not functioning correctly. Liver also enlarged for last 2 yrs. So far no diagnosis. Headed to Mayo for possible answers. Hep., HIV, and all other viruses negative. Anyone have any thoughts? Havn't felt well for quite a while. Thanks to all!
Get a copy of your blood tests and see what your GFR is - below 60 then you need to see a nephrologist. Your doctor didn't order a GFR test and other related kidney panel - find another doctor - same with liver. Simply saying that you kidneys are not functioning properly and not giving you any further info - find another doctor. Same for your liver. The Mayo Clinic probably gave you additional information. You may have to look into changing your diet somewhat - again check out DaVita they have all kinds of help on line that will supplement your new doctor's care. Also a diet helper that has daily menu's and recipes geared for a CKD (chronic kidney disease) diet if that is what you find you need. Additionally Google Kidney disease - chronic kidney disease - there are many websites to give you more information and help you understand your blood tests. Start now - it's up to you to be proactive.
Don't be overly concerned. I was diagnosed with CKD 3 years ago with my kidneys working at 38 percent. Three years later with watching my diet and taking medication for high blood pressure they are working at 48 percent. No cure but should you really have CKD you can control it a long while with diet and medication. But look until you find a doctor that will work with you and answer your questions. Go to www.DaVita.com and you will find lots of information concerning Kidney Disease. Best of luck.
I am a diabetic and chronic kidney disease (CKD) patient. I have heel pain and sometimes blisters. What is the best type of painkiller and antibiotic for my situation?

What is the link between usage of arkamin and amlong (each being taken for 20 years by my father who has chronic kidney disease)?
