I am advised by the doctor to take Tonact 10 for high Cholesterol. Now I have been taking it almost for a year. I sometimes feel weak and loose control of nerves. Is this kind of side effect? Should I discontinue? Still my Cholesterol levels are not very encouraging. ## this site is not medical professionals and even if we were, we could not properly advise you on what to do over the internet. That said, Tonact contains the active ingredient Atorvastatin and the side effects you are experiencing are normal for these Statin medications. For some people they are severe enough that they must stop or switch medications or have a dosage adjustment. You can also experience: muscle aches, joint pain and headache. You can read more here: Have you spoken to your doctor about this? ## I was advic...
I have been prescribed Crosuva 20 (also known as Rosuvastatin). Anyone have side effects with this med? ## Medications in the Statin class, such as Rosuvastatin, are very well known to cause side effects in many people that take them. As a matter of fact, many have had to stop taking them due to the severity of them. The FDA lists the side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and joint/muscle pain. Have you started taking it, yet? ## Anybody suffering from Crosuva or Fluoride 250 meds? I have COPD emphysema. Thanks, Lou ## Hi ,you seem very knowledgeable , with the lockdown in Australia it's hard to see a dr these days plus no way would my dr admit that Crosuva (ROSUVASTATIN) may have neg effect IV been on Crosuva must be 7 mths by now,I'm 68yrz old since s...
Is it okay to have grapefruit while taking Lipitor? ## It's true. You should not ingest grapefruit while taking Liptor, as it could increase the active ingredient's concentration in your bloodstream to unsafe levels. This applies to multiple statins including Lipitor (atorvastatin), Mevacor (lovastatin), and Zocor (simvastatin). ## I was told by a friend that you should not ingest grapefruit or grapefruit juice while on Lipitor. Any word on this? ## FYI any medication that reacts with grapefruit will also react with CBD oil. The CBD oil does the same thing as grapefruit.
I have a round yellowish pill, about 9 mm in diameter, with the imprint RX 597. What could this be? ## This was Pravastatin 40 mg from the now defunct Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals (NDC 63304-0597). Pravastatin is used to lower cholesterol. Source ## The identification that Jaki provided is correct. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Pravastatin as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and joint/muscle aches. Ref: Medline Plus Pravastatin Is there anything I can help with?
Hello. I would like to know if taking Daflon drug for a certain time as a cure, could interact with the medicines that I am taking which are: Lipitor-Concor-Omnic-Tritace-Aspirin? Regards ## I am taking daflon 500 mg twice daily. Can I take aspirin 100mg once daily along with it? I have pain in my leg and I'm afraid of blood clots. ## Can I take Daflon and still consume medical cannabis?
Has anyone been harmed by using Pravastatin? ## I recently had a 2nd MI and was put on Crestor in hospital, sent home w/script for Pravastatin 80 mgs. I am 6 days post starting this statin and for 4 days have had severe lower back pain and lower abdominal pain severe enough to go to ER as well as taking a half tab of Vicodin to ease the pain enough to partially function. There were only 2 new meds added to my normal regime since 4/15/10. I am getting this severe pain within 3 hours of the once a day dosage so am inclined to think it is caused by the statin. Have not been able to tolerate any form of statins for well over 10 years but my doctor was insistant while in the hopsital. Am close to stopping this med and will discuss with my family doctor today. Anyone else have or had this sit...
its a thin, clear capsule, white powder, no imprint, nothing to tell me what medication it is. ## Clear capsule appears white from powder inside no imprint ## Sorry, if there is no imprint, there is no way to positively identify it, unless you would have it lab tested. ## Possibly Niacin, Vitamin B-3, one of a few unmarked white capsules. It's used by the body as a co-enzyme for energy metabolism. Supposedly helps nervous, digestive, and cardiovascular systems. Used widely for drug detoxifications, increased metabolism... ## people r starting to bring 30 mg oxycodone up from florida in a capsule form with no imprint. they r being made right in the pharmacy.. if u found one in your teens room.. have them take a test... stop it early b4 it becomes a major problem. drugs kill ## Just f...
My husband has been on Trilipix DR for approx 6 months. About a month ago,he experienced a sudden temporary memory loss that lasted several hours. He was the hospital overnight and a battery of test all proved normal. His chlorestrol was elevated and the hospital Dr increased the Trilipix Dr to 135 mg. He developed severe headaches and extreme fatigue. We called the Dr and he decreased the med but symptoms continued. He finally stopped the Trilipix completely .After reading reviews from several sites, I now believe the memory loss may have been a build up of Trilipix in his system. Has anyone on this site had this type of side effect? ## I have been on Tripilix for five days now. I don't have the headache but I notice I keep getting a painful, stiff neck. Also, I have not slept at a...
i am 74 yr old male. Chlorestrol normal, but on advice of Doctor. Wouldit be OK to reduce dosage to 10 mg? ## Hello, Nestro31! How are you? If your doctor has instructed you to lower the dose, it would be best to do as they've directed. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and joint/muscle aches. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My husband was similar, so he weaned himself off the Statin (I forget which one it was) couldn't get any logical answer from the doc as to why not. He now takes no statins, and cholesterol is non existant.
I am 78 year old male from India. I am diabetic but under control and mild bp under control. My cholestrol level is 113, Tryglycerides 166, HDL 46, LDL 32 and VLDL 35 as on 16th dec 2020. Previously as on 15/9/2019 cholestrol is 111, tryglycerides 134, HDL 43, LDL 32 and VLDL 35. I have been taking Atorvostatin 10 mg since many years. But when this tryglycerides level is 166 from 134 recently , I feel i should raise the dosage and would like to take 20 mg atorvostatin. Since I am diabetic, i think i am not supposed to stop atorvostatin. Can i increase the dosage from 10 mg to 20 mg? Is there any harm in doing so? Kindly advise. ## Hi Veera, First a few questions, what type of diabetic are you? And do you have any other health issues like thyroid, liver etc and what other meds are you ta...
I have been taking euthyrox 50ug and 100ug. 1day 50ug and 1 day 100ug for the pas 22 months due to Eltroxin being out of stock. My Thyroid was removed 17 years ago. I was diagnosed with Graves disease. I have lost a lot of weight since I have been on Euthyrox, is that normal, it never happed when I was on Eltorxin, I actually gained weight whe I was on Eltroxin. in 2014 I weighed 78 kg at the moment I weight only 55.7kg. I have been on fenofibrate for about 6 months. The last month almost every time I take it I dry heave. It doesn’t matter if I drink a lot with it or eaten first. Also lately I am having horrible itching all over. Can This happen over time?? ## I'm curious why you are still taking it. Have you told your doctor. It sounds like there's an allergy. ## Those can be common side effects, according to FDA reports, but as Jan stated, the itching could also be due to an allergy, so you should have this checked out by your doctor, because allergic reactions tend to get worse with repeated exposure. Other side effects of Fenofibrate may include headache, runny nose, back pain, and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?
What side effects have been experienced with this drug? I have been advised to take Repatha. Since I am sensitive, and had a bad experience with another Amgen drug, I am skeptical. What have others experienced? ## What other medication did you have a problem with? Reactions to a medication are usually due to an ingredient, and are rarely manufacturer dependent. Repatha is used to treat high LDL cholesterol, many of these types of medications are known to cause some very annoying side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and joint/muscle aches. How high is your cholesterol? What other methods have you tried for lowering it? Are you on any other medications? ## Currently I take Rosuvastatin, my Cholesterol has come way down to almost perfect, but I fo have a plaque problem. I hav...
Round white pill and the pharmacy doesn't know what it is ## Hi Kelly, The only white pill I'm finding marked with "312" happens to be oblong in shape and not round, as you described it. This particular pill is identified as Vytorin (ezetimibe 10mg + simvastatin 20mg), which is prescribed for high cholesterol. For verification, it's National Drug Code is 66582-0312 and the manufacturer is Merck & Company. Also the size of this tablet is reported to be approximately 11.00 mm. Another close match is a white round pill marked with "512" as opposed to 312. It happens to have a score line on the back side and is identified as generic Acetaminophen 325mg + Oxycodone 5mg; used for moderate to severe pain. This is manufactured by Mallinckrodt and has a National D...

I was at the gym when I found a flatish white round pill, blank on one side and blank on the other side besides a single score mark. It's about the size of a large pea. ## Hi Vendi, Because the description of this pill is so broad/vague, I think there's only so much one can do to narrow it down through research alone. On that note, here is a list of other white round pills reportedly bearing a score line on one side with no other markings: Vitamin C oral tab 500mg Vitamin B6 oral tab 50mg Niacin 100mg tab Melatonin 3mg tab Counterfeit/Alleged 'Hydrocodone' 10/325 (from Costa Rica) This might only turn out to be a small list of possibilities at that. So your best bet in my opinion may just be to have its contents analyzed by a lab and/or drug panel in order to pinpoint a ...
Very fatigued, ABD pain and nausea. MD did blood work to check liver enzymes, BMP, Amylase, Lipase. Ultra sound completed today of gallbladder, pancreas, liver. Was only on fenofibrate for 20 days 145mg. Could not take lipitor for severe muscle cramps. However lipitor was out well the muscle pains ended 36 hours after taking the med. I don't feel better yet after D/Cing the fenofibrate for 4 days. Results not back with the test, will know if any damage to my gallbladder in 2 days. ## Fenofibrate is no longer being taken and the fatigue, abdominal pain, sneezing and nausea continue after 5 days not ingesting this medication. No results on the test are back. Is anyone experiencing extended side effects from this medication after stopping for 5 or more days? Is it possible this medicat...
I have been taking simvastatin tabs for 2 months now, choslerol count is good but my trigleride level has increased from taking Vytorin 141 count to taking simvastatin now 232 ## What is the difference between simvastatin and Vytorin.my doctor change my medication from Vytorin to simvastatin 3 months ago. I now have muscle pain in my back and legs. Could this come from the change? ## That is unusual, these medications are generally known to help lower triglyceride levels. What has your doctor advised? Are you watching your diet? Sharon, Vytorin contains Simvastatin with Ezetimibe, so he has just changed you to taking only one of these medications, rather than both. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, joint/muscle aches, and stomach pain. Thus, what you're e...
