I want to know the side effects of chlorthalid. will it effect my gums, and make my teeth loose

Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and edema.

It really isn't known to cause those effects, however, since it does remove fluid from the body, you will be dryer and this can include your mouth. If you produce less saliva, it can allow bacteria to stay in the mouth longer than usual, which could cause dental damage. That is something that you should be careful of, when taking it. You will need to make sure that you take in enough fluids in a day to prevent dehydration and such problems.

Other side effects may include: nausea, dizziness and hyperkalemia.
