took a urine test and was told that I tested positive for benzo. I have only been taking chlortabs. Does chlortabs contain benzo as one of its ingredients? ## Hi Blue, The term "Benzo" or Benzodiazepines is actually referring to the drug class or type of drug that it is corresponding to. In this case, Chlortabs (chlorpheniramine maleate) is in a class of medications called antihistamines, and it appears that you got a false positive for a Benzodiazepine class drug ('such as' Xanax), which are most commonly used for treating anxiety or depression. From what I could gather, there are a lot of over-the-counter medications that may test positive for Benzodiazepines, so it may be in your best interest to contact the lab for a re-test, if possible, depending upon how severely ...

Dont know the name of them. We just found them in my moms things & she needs to know what they are. Thank u!! ## Hello, It could possibly be an OTC pill called Chlorpheniramine Maleate 4 mg; an antihistamine for sinus and cold relief. It is a round yellow pill that should have the imprint 255. However, since there is no marking on your pill, I can't be 100% certain. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Chlorpheniramine Details I hope this helps! ## All Rx and OTC drugs in the US are required by the FDA to have an imprint, otherwise it could be a vitamin, herbal, energy, diet, foreign or illicit.

Is it true that Respa AR is no longer being manufactured? When I went to Walmart to get my usual RX filled I was told it was no longer in production. ## That is correct. Respa-AR contained Belladonna Alkaloids, Chlorpheniramine and Pseudoephedrine. The problem stemmed from the fact that these were actually never FDA approved. Due to certain loopholes in the law, regarding drugs that were on the market, before the laws took effect, they were grandfathered in and were able to be sold for many years. However, recent crackdowns on such problematic drugs has enabled the FDA have them pulled from the market, if the manufacturer doesn't do full safety and efficacy studies, as is done for any other prescription medication. Both the Chlorpheniramine and the Pseudoephedrine are approved and t...

I just took the last of my effective dosage for allergic and sinus related symptoms. Didn't save the box. The round yellow scored pill was imprinted with "L-463" and can't remember what store ,or which name it was sold under. Any hints? ## I don't know what name it was sold under, since that can vary depending on the store selling it. This is a generic and is usually sold as the store brand. However, I can tell you that it is a 4mg Chlorpheniramine tablet, it's an antihistamine, used to treat allergies. Learn more Chlorpheniramine details here. Thus, what you'd want to look for is something with that same ingredient in the same dosage. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Verwon, Thanks for the enlightening info. blue and white capsule with white beads inside has CPM PSE on it ## This is an over the counter medication. I tried to look it up extensively but the website is currently down. Until it comes back up I can tell you that it is an antihistamine called chloraphrenimate (I never spell it corrcectly), and a decongestant called pseudenephride (again my spelling is probably off.) ## LOL! Gotta love some of the technical drug names, aren't they interesting to try to remember and spell? I always leave the page open in another window so I can refer back to get it right. The dosage is Chlorpheniramine Maleate 8mgs and Pseudophedrine 120mgs. (our favorite reference site is back up! They were probably updating the database last night, it goes down like that periodically when they do!) This is ba...

how many mg are in a teaspoon of hydron psc syrup ## Each serving of Hydron PSC Liquid oral solution is said to contain the following dosages: Chlorpheniramine 0.4 MG/ML + Hydrocodone 1 MG/ML + Pseudoephedrine 6 MG/ML To my understanding, that is milligrams per milliliter; and one teaspoon is 5 ml, so if I'm seeing this correctly, you would be getting 5 servings if you took a teaspoon of it. Does that make sense? I hope this info helps!

Ru Tuss is an allergy pill my husband used to take and it worked really well without making him sleepy. Even though current allergy medicine says no drowsiness, he still gets real sleepy.
