Chlo-tuss Cough Medicine Availability

Why was chlo-tuss discontinued? I was prescribed this today and saw on the internet that it had been discontinued.

I was prescribed Chlo Tuss Liquid and found out on this site that it was discontinued some time ago. Why was it "discontinued"? Was it a danger to patients, and why? Why is Chlo Tuss Liquid still prescribed and filled if it is discontinued?

My symptoms: excessive nasal, sinus, chest congestion with night sweats, headache and body aches, excessive dry cough. The symptoms came suddenly within 8 hours of a dry scratchy throat. I am type-2 diabetic, hyperglycemic, with diabetic neuropathy, minor renal problems and also test+ for spinal stenosis.

I haven't come across any specific details or official statements announcing Chlo-tuss being discontinued. Whereabouts did you hear this from? I've only seen references to the possibility of it being discontinued throughout some forums here, but nothing definitive in my own investigation.

That said, I can't comment on why it's still being prescribed other than the idea that it's not discontinued. Perhaps that's just a rumor that spread too far?

Does your prescribing doctor or pharmacist have anything to say about this?
