Cheap Suboxone/subutex Doctors In Louisiana (Page 2) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI am looking for a doctor who prescribes suboxone in the New Orleans, slidell Louisiana area. I am a single mom with no insurance, can't afford 350 a visit and prescription cost. My kids have medicaid but I don't. Thanks.
MARC (Medication Assisted Recovery Centers) SPECIALIZES in Suboxone treatment and they are absolutely wonderful. They often have same day appointments available. It is located in Metairie. $195 per visit. 504-535-4200
Re: Debi (# 169)
You're welcome! Believe me.... I know the struggle!
There's a doctor at an East jefferson clinic that I think is about $200 for the initial visit. He's the cheapest I've found so far. He's on the corner of David Dr and West Metairie in Metairie. If I come across anything else I'll keep you in mind.
Re: Alicia (# 176)
That is ridiculous -- I got to the MARC clinic in Metairie [504-535-4200] and they only require once a month visits. Plus I really love my doc there, I can tell he really cares.
Suboxone treatment is still pretty new, so I am not aware of any doctors that offer cheaper prices, because they do have to maintain special approval and monitoring to treat patients with it.

If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, you might want to check into Methadone clinics in your area, as it is usually much cheaper, since it's been used for a very long time.

Does anyone else have any suggestions to add?
I am also in the New Orleans area. I have a similar problem. I am currently seeing an anesthesiologist that specializes in pain management. Since he is out of network for my insurance and he does not write refills, I am paying an outrageous amount for monthly office visits. Does anyone know of a physician or specialist that can prescribe subutex or suboxzone and also honor major insurance providers? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Hello. My name is Tommy. My wife and I are currently taking suboxone and have been for 6 years. About 5 years ago we use to see a Dr. Shultz in New Orleans. Since he is no longer in business, since 5 years ago we have been all over the place trying to find a ligit doctor who will write me 90 a month an my wife 60 a month, without cutting us back each time we go. We actually found someone here in our area that we have been seeing the past 2 years but he just retired. Do you happen to know a (ligit) doctor in the New Orleans area, if not then anywhere in the south Louisiana that will continue to do the same thing our last doctor has done for us? If so, could you please contact me at {edited for privacy} and let me know it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You could call some pharmacys to get an idea. Just read in another post that CVS will sell them individually. That may be an option. Also go to Suboxone's manufacturer site and get the 50 dollars discount card, the suboxone doctor may have some. Be sure to ask.
