I am outstation and already taking formonide400 lnhaler through spacer. I consumed local water though comming from filter but I am doubtful of its filteration. I used ground but oil at home but in outstation consuming soyabean oil prepared food. I got ill and took Cefpodoxime Proxetil And Potassium Clavulanate. Brand name TROYPOD CV. MFD by TROIKAA, Gujarat, India. Want to know about this combination and treatment there from.

I'm sorry, but I haven't been able to find a brand name medication (containing Cefpodoxime Proxetil + Potassium Clavulanate) that starts with the letters "and" and ends with the letters "bact". However, I can still add some information regarding Cefpodoxime Proxetil and Potassium Clavulanate.

Cefpodoxime is an oral third generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is active against most Gram positive and Gram negative organisms. Notable exceptions include Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus, and Bacteroides fragilis. It is commonly used to treat acute otitis media, pharyngitis, sinusitis, and gonorrhea. It also finds use as oral continuation therapy when intravenous cephalosporins (such as ceftriaxone) are no longer necessary for continued treatment.

Potassium Clavulanate is a potassium salt derived from Clavulanic acid. Clavulanic acid is used to overcome resistance in bacteria that secrete ß-lactamase, which otherwise inactivates most penicillins. It is a mechanism-based ß-lactamase inhibitor which is combined with penicillin group antibiotics to overcome certain types of antibiotic resistance. Potassium Clavulanate is often combined with:

-Amoxicillin (brand names include: Augmentin and Synulox [for veterinary sue], and more)

-Ticarcillin (co-ticarclav, brand name Timentin).
