Cat Got Ahold Of Cephalexin Pill!!!

My 6 month old cat got ahold of one of my wife's 500 mg cephalexin pill, I had noticed him playing with it and chased him down to grab it, by the time I got it it was pretty chewed up and no powder was left on it, should I call a vet right away? I know cephalexin is prescribed in both humans and animals but not sure the amount he injested. Thanks

Hello, Jeremy! How is your cat? Did he suffer any adverse effects?

Even a cat, however, can't really overdose on an antibiotic, unless he was allergic or ate quite a few of the tablets.

He may experience more side effects, though, such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness and diarrhea.

Did you consult your veterinarian?
