I have had almost 50% reduction in my spleen size and my bloods have returned to close to normal. I am seeing Dr Patrick Tan at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore and I am paying for the treatment myself as I do not have medical insurance. A bottle of 60 x 5mg pills costs me Singapore$3,450.00 and I get a VAT refund when I leave Singapore if I have not opened the drug before I depart. I am taking 4 x 5mg twice a day so it is quite expensive but the results have been terrific. I can highly recommend yhr hodpital and specialist in Singapore. ## Dear Steve, My mom needs Jakafi too, where I can find it in Singapore at $3,450? Thank you so much, I'm from Chile ## Dear all. My name is St...
I need to find a new pain clinic in Knoxville TN. The doctor at my clinic now is of the philosophy of 60 mg total of meds a day. He does not believe in tolerance. I have been on meds for 4 years now and can attest to the idea of tolerance. Does anyone know a clinic that does not use this philosophy? Does procedures? Takes tenncare? I am desperate! I have let my pain get too out of control and need to do something before I lose my job to being in too much pain! ## Hello, Fedup! How are you? Unfortunately, that's not likely to change, even if you see a different doctor. There were new directives set forth by the DEA last year that instruct doctors to limit the amount of medications prescribed for pain to a certain amount a day, with exceptions only being made for those that suffer int...
I took methotrexate injections 15mg once a week for about 3 years off & on, mostly on for psoriasis & stopped completely in February 2015, (awful side effects). How long does this nasty drug remain in your system for? Just started on Trimethroprim for a kidney infection & one of the drugs to keep clear of is Methotrexate, will this still apply even though I have been off methotrexate for nearly 7 months now? ## Hello, Andy! How are you? No, it should be fine if it's been that long, but you may want to double check with your pharmacist to be sure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?
I'm taking Methotrexate and folic acid pills to treat my psoriasis. Is it OK to take Amox-Clav 875MG with these other medications? ## Hello, Jared! How are you? Is your doctor aware that you're taking all of these medications? The antibiotic may increase the levels of Methotrexate, so usually it's recommended that a different antibiotic be used and that you stay away from the Penicillin class. The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
I had a root canal competed on August 4th. I now need the filling replaced on my crown. Can I have the filling completed and receive a reclast inj. the following week? ## Hello, Mac! How are you? It would be best to double check with your doctor, since Reclast can cause some dental problems and there is a risk of your developing osteonecrosis of the jaw, as listed by the FDA. Many people are told to take care of any dental health issues, prior to starting Reclast, but I'm not sure how long they need to be separated. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, vomiting, weight loss, numbness and insomnia. Is there anything else I can help with?
My seven pound dog swallowed a gleevec 100 tablet. I induced vomiting with peroxide but not sure if it came up as she had just eaten so lots of food came up. What could gleevec do to her and what should I watch for? I gave her the peroxide about 5 minutes after she swallowed the pill.
Updated in GleevecI was recently released by pain clinic and need to find another doctor soon. Are there any doctors in Northeast Ga that will see me and prescribe pain meds for chronic pain or do I have to go to pain clinic?? Any suggestions for a doctor that will prescribe meds that actually work without constant drama? ## Hello, Tonya! How are you? Due to the new directives that were set forth by the DEA last year, most private practice doctors will no longer prescribe pain medications, except in special circumstances, such as for someone that is suffering intractable pain from a possibly fatal illness, such as stage 4 cancer. Thus, you'll have to stick with a pain management specialist. Why did they release you? That might have an effect on being able to get another to accept you as a patient. Do...
My esr is 94. Is that a high reading and what does it mean? ## Hello, Jeff! How are you? ESR stands for erythrocyte sedimentation rate and it indirectly measures how much inflammation is present in your body, as explained by the NIH. And yes, the 94 is very high. Generally, in men, normal is 15mm/hr if they are under 50 and 20mm/hr if they are over 50. Abnormal results may signify several medical conditions, including cancer, anemia, kidney disease and thyroid diseases. Have you been experiencing odd symptoms recently?
My CA 15-3 level has gone from 28 to 31 could this mean cancer cells? ## Hello, Lisabeth! How are you? It's possible, but not definitive, since that's not a significant increase and only 1 point above the 30 which is usually used for the cut off, as listed by the NIH. What has your doctor advised? Are you currently under treatment?

Hello, A close family member has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma and is getting Xalkori with good results. However, for a reason unknown to me, she can only get 45 days of the drug.. Can Xalkori be purchased directly from Pfizer? Are there pharmacies that would accept out of the country prescriptions? ## Hello, Gilbert! How are you? I'm sorry about her diagnosis. It really depends why she can only get 45 days of it. Is it an insurance issue, or is that all her doctor will prescribe? If it's an insurance issue, she could get more, as long as her doctor prescribes it, but will have to pay for it herself. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including headache, nausea, slow heart rate and easy bruising. However no, you cannot obtain it without a p...

Has anyone experienced leg pain and swelling. I have been on votrient for 12 weeks and now I'm having severe leg pain I already have a blood clot in my left leg, but now my right leg is in pain when I walk. I'm totally concerned as I have experienced several side effects. But this side effect would be better than a blood clot. ## Hello, Kocoa! How are you? Votrient has been known to cause musculoskeletal pain as a side effect in some people that take it, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, change in hair color, weight loss and myalgia. However, since you do have a history of clots, you should have it checked out by your doctor to be sure.
