It's definitely going to be at the discretion of your doctor; whether or not he feels that Suboxone is the appropriate drug of choice for you. From my perspective, the only reason he would prescribe Suboxone in the first place, is to help get you off of those other strong pain killers.
A different doctor who doesn't know your medical history or have your records on file, would be more likely to prescribe you something else, if that's what you're looking for. At the same time, I also believe that your current doctor should give you what you ask for, because you're essentially paying him for advice and for the scripts. Have you talked to him about your reasoning for wanting to get back on the stronger pain medications?
