Can Plain Codeine Be Compounded?

I understand ty's #3, #4 work best with tylenol or acetaminophen. Can it be compounded at a pharmacy? And perhaps without as much acetaminophen or tylenol, for health's sake and saving people from dying bc they need a higher dose of codeine? I've had fentanyl patches, hydrocodone, Lortab, etc for years of pain due to extenuating circumstances and nothing works as good "for me" as the tylenol #4. Is this something I can ask a compounding pharmacy to do for me? Is there already a ty #10 made and sold under another name?

Hello, MinnieMoose! How are you?

Plain Codeine is already available on the market, via prescription, so if you wish, you could speak to your doctor about prescribing it and taking it with whatever amount of Acetaminophen they deem appropriate.

A compounding pharmacy would not be able to do it, just because you asked, they still require a prescription from your doctor.

The FDA warns that this medication is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I'm not sure what you mean by Tylenol #10. Can you please post back and clarify? Thank you!
