Can you go through withdrawals from clonidine 0.1 twice daily only if used for 5 days? I have been on Methadone and Opana for a number of years now. I made the decision to get off the Meds and battle the withdrawals. ER Doctor gave me clonidine the help with symptoms have been on them for 5 days and ready to get off it. Any answers on timeframe or relevant info greatly appreciated. Main question is. "Is five days of clonidine 2x daily enough to experience withdrawal symptoms after done taking?"

Hello, Louis! How are you?

No, there shouldn't be any major issues after taking it for such a short period of time, especially since it is not an opiate. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, anxiety, dizziness and loss of appetite.

However, it would be best to double check with your doctor to be safe, because while stopping it may not cause any withdrawal symptoms, you may still experience some from the opiates.

Is there anything else I can help with?
