I picked up a new RX today for Topiramate 50mg. I received separate instructions from the doctor as well as what is written on the bottle; Take 1/2 pill at bedtime for 1week, then increase by 1/2 tablet each week until you are taking 2 tablets per day (for a total of 100mg daily). Unfortunately this particular pill does not have a center line to divide the pill. My question is, without the center line, can this pill be divided into half and still be assured that each half is 25mg? The manufacture is SUN PHARM - description - small yellow/beige, round pill with an S on one side and 710 on the other. Thank you in advance for your time!

Yes, this tablet is a regular release formulation, so the medication is suspended throughout and you can cut it in half that way.
Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, weight changes and mood swings.
