I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO BECAUSE MY DOSE DOESN'T HELP ME THE SAME AS BEFORE! SO DOES ANYBODY KNOW THE RIGHT WAY SO I WONT WASTE MY DOSE?

you do get high on methadone but if u take it for long periods you stop getting high. you need it just to feel normal methadone is synthetic herion.. just like most strong pain killers. . methadone is used for a variety of medical issue pain\with drawn etc...if your going to talk about something please know what your talking about. it does get you very high.

Wow!!! I gave him good advice. When you have a bachelor's in abnormal psychology, then, and maybe then you should post!!! I went through school on methadone and that's on 200 mg. So before you speak, know what your talking about. And god bless the hell out of you.

Dear Kim, your reply does not answer the question which is why you should not even post because you dont know what you are talking about. When you start the done clinic you will get high as *u*k. So to answer Slim's question you should have said nothing, i dont know or NOTHING. But Slim David gives you the most accurate, answer. My only comment is that if you are going to the clinic you would have to save your dose in your mouth spit it out then inject it and i dont think shooting spit is a good thing. Please be careful, hope you get to a point you are just happy and god bless.

There's actually some very important information I referenced in the paragraphs below, that should clarify a few things as far as injecting methadone goes and other safer alternatives:

"Methadone is available in traditional pill, sublingual tablet, and two different formulations designed for the patient to drink. Drinkable forms include ready-to-dispense liquid, and "Disket" which is a tablet designed to disperse itself in water for oral administration, used in a similar fashion to Alka-Seltzer. The liquid form is the most common as it allows for smaller dose changes. Methadone is almost as effective when administered orally as by injection. In fact, injection of methadone does not result in a "rush" as with some other strong opioids such as morphine or hydromorphone, because its extraordinarily high volume of distribution causes it to diffuse into other tissues in the body, particularly fatty tissue; the peak concentration in the blood is achieved at roughly the same time, whether the drug is injected or ingested. When injecting Methadone, only pills have the least-dangerous cautions although it can easily cause collapsed veins, bruising, swelling and possibly other harmful effects. Methadone pills often contain talc that, when injected, produces a swarm of tiny solid particles in the blood, causing numerous minor blood clots. These particles cannot be filtered out before injection, and will accumulate in the body over time, especially in the lungs and eyes, producing various complications such as pulmonary hypertension, an irreversible and progressive disease."

"Methadone should not be injected either. While it has been done in extremely diluted concentrations, instances of cardiac arrest have been reported as well as damaged veins from sugar and other ingredients (Sugar-Free syrups also should not be injected). Oral medication offers safety, simplicity and represents a step away from injection-based drug abuse in those recovering from addiction. U.S. federal regulations require the oral form in addiction treatment programs."

Hopefully this information provides you with another perspective into using this medication in the most effective and safe way possible.

I think it is dangerous and maybe you should talk to your dr. before doing it....and i dont know what you mean by "help" you the same way, but you do not get a rush from methadone...i have been on it for years for pain..maybe you just need your dose adjusted...i wouldnt reccommend injecting it because of the dangers of overdosing
