Camber Pharmaceuticals Generic Percocet (Page 20)
UpdatedJust got Camber Pharm generic Percocet at Walgreens instead of the Actavis brand. It's giving me an upset stomach and causing me to feel weird. Has anyone else had a similar reaction?
Re: Bella (# 266)
I just had an abdominal ultrasound and waiting on blood work tongue is blue and feel awful camber pills
Hi Fellow People who were poisoned by Camber Oxi’s.
Well, it’s been an interesting couple weeks since my ordeal with Camber 5/325 Oxi’s. I filed complaints with the FDA, DEA, Walgreens and Camber regarding the severe reaction I had to their version of generic Oxi’s.
A foreigner from India called me. Took down my info.
Walgreens' CEO called me, and thankfully dealt with my local pharmacy that were unwilling to accommodate me following my reaction to the Camber brand. They have been ordered to get me Actavis....PERIOD. And the two pharmacists that treated me like crap, have to go through training again. GOOD!
So, if you’re having issues with Walgreens not accommodating you, refusing to order the brand of pain meds that work for you, file a complaint! Worked for me thank goodness.
Still feeling lousy more than a week after my Camber poisoning. And I’m on a different brand of Oxi’s that are HORRIBLE and weak, but they don’t make me sick. Can’t wait to get my Actavis brand back next month.
Re: Kathi (# 382)
Way to go! Don't ever let these Chain Pharmacies dictate to you that you must take something that's making you sick, doesn't work on pain and also treat you like you're a subhuman 3rd class citizen because you're forced to take narcotic analgesics due to a legitimate injury! These Nazi pharmacists have got to go!
Now hopefully others will follow your example and FIGHT BACK!!
Re: Kathi (# 382)
Thanks posting this information. I called Wallgreens Corporate in January when I was all of the same negative side effects as everyone else. After 22 days on the Camber, I got the actavis back. Now they tell me they are out of it again and cant order it. So, after reading your comment, I immediately called corporate. They had my info from before. I told them that I had to know, no later than Monday if they could send the Actavis to the Wallgreens in my area. I was ready to make the call today to the independent pharmacy and switch everything (5 regular scripts and others i need occassionally) to another pharmacy. I was very nice and told them that absolutely could not take the Camber again. He said he understood. I really dont even want to wait until Monday; because that would leave me only 5 days left to do research. I have other things going on and dont have the time. I will let everyone know what happens. They know there is something wrong with the Camber but they continue to pass on the stock they have to anyone who doesnt complain. By the way; I never called that woman from India back. I just saw no purpose in it. I told Corporate Camber from the beginning the problems I was having and they just passed the buck to their manufacturer in India. I didnt even receive a follow up call for at least a month. I had the new script by then. They have had many complaints and there still distributing it. Either I get it at Wallgreens or stop doing business with them. I would try another brand first; before I would ever take the Camber again.
Re: Bella (# 384)
Its not just Camber generic percocet; add Rhodes to the list also made in India. I think its all generics in general of this pain med. i feel as if I am being poisoned. With Rhodes now my ears clogged, breathing issuesALL OF IT! Ive been in pain mgmt for years. Something is terribly wrong worse & worse each month this past year. DISTINCT DIFFERENCE. I was authorized for med necessary brand only by my Dr; however it will cost me w/ins $1018 per month for brand. Any suggestions for a generic that you all may use without side effects let me know. This is so unfair. Thanks :(
Does CVS carry the Activis percocet, and is that the A333 ? Thank you for any info!
Re: Reb (# 386)
No. You dont want do business with them anyhow. Google "CVS new opiod guidelines". They are making up their on rules.
Re: Bella (# 387)
Thanks! Do you know of any chains that do carry them, my ins is not restricted to any particular pharmacy, I just know I won't ever go back to Walgreens! Appreciate any suggestions.
Re: Reb (# 388)
A 333 is the 5.25mg and thats what I use. I just called the independent pharmacy and they can get the 7.25 but not the 5.25. They only have Alvogen in 5.25 and its not even on his list to order. Has anyone ever used Alvogen?? Im tempted to ask palliative care for the 7.25. Wallgreens has those but who knows for how long. Im feeling so much better on the Actavis for the last 2 months. I have an Endoscopy scheduled for April 24th and I only have 5 days left of the Actavis. The last thing I need is to get back on something that makes me sick to my stomach. Its just criminal that we all have to endure having our generic meds switched every time we turn around; just so Big Pharma can shop and look for bargains. I just called Costco and they carry another brand. Their generic for 90 percocet is $1,400 dollars. Maryjane you must have good insurance to pay $10.00 and change for generic. I know medicaid will never give me anything but generic. I fought for 6 months to get generic Synthroid (hypothyroid med). Many can not tolerate that in name brand. If I dont hear from Wallgreens about ordering the Actavis Monday, I will have to try the Alvogen. Not that they care but Wallgreens will loose all my business.
Re: Bella (# 387)
I will be looking this up. I switched to CVS as they were the only pharmacy within a reasonable distance that doesn't carry Camber. My PCP believes my reaction to the Camber pills stems from dye allergies and an inability to handle certain additives. I have a lot of issues with food for these same reasons. CVS carries Rhodes (at least the one local to me does). It doesn't seem to have the same effectiveness controlling my pain and I had to do a dosage increase. But lately every time I go to pick up my prescription they give me a hard time. Once the error was completely theirs and they still gave me a attitude when I pointed it out. They put it through my insurance at double the days supply it really was. Then when they fixed it they dated it as filled on the day they fixed it and not the day it was actually filled. Then turned me away saying I was trying to fill my next prescription too soon. They also round up days supply. For example post op my surgeon would only supply so many at a time. Unlike pain management, who would always prescribe it as a 30 day supply. What I was getting was enough for 11 full days plus 1 dose (at that time my instructions were to take them 4x a day. But they would input it as 12 days supply. I would always go after work (around noon during the 2 months i was on restricted duty) on the 12th day to avoid any issues. This also meant i had no meds left when I showed up. But by the 3rd fill they turned me away stating it was too early to fill. That filling early every time adds up and that i should have 6 doses left so they wouldn't fill it until the next day. And now that they're claiming my insurance will no longer override it. I'm currently tapering back down to my pre-surgery dose and the pharmacist literally made my dr specify the day by day dosing and changes. She did as he asked and they did fill it but after making her send the specifics didn't include any of that in my instructions and listed the instructions for the full qty as what it is supposed to be on the last 2 days, meaning yet again my days supply is incorrect. And he even came out to tell me that regardless of my dr's instructions they wouldn't fill it "early". So i'm going to be back to trying to find a new pharmacy again since this one can't properly do math or list the dr's instructions as she wrote them. I hope that once i finish my taper that my surgery will have worked so well I won't need them at all anymore. It's wishful thinking but i'm tired of being publicly shamed each time i pick up my meds. Just the other day when i saw my dr she commented on how ridiculous and exhausting it is that she has to constantly call them to explain why they are wrong. But based on your post i'm beginning to think they're doing it purposely.
Re: Jen (# 390)
Im so sorry Jen. CVS is no place to go for your pain meds. It is extremely inappropriate for them to make decisions that should be left to medical professionals. I believe Doctors have been unfairly blamed. I really believe that all the chain pharmacies will eventually cave into to the same political behavior. I called many today; including Vons, Ralphs etc. Some were completely out of percocet or oxycodone today. No Actavis. They nicely informed they have no choice as to what corporate sends them. This is so the officials can brag to the American public about the decrease in opioid usage.
I talked several times to an independent pharmacy. He (the pharmacist) could order Actavis oxycodone in 15mg or 30mg but not 5mg or even 7.5. He only had Percocet in generic Alvogen. My palliative doctor did not want me to up the dose of oxycodone and thought it was a good idea to slowly back of the acetaminophen. He did have oxycodone in Epic generic 5mg; which is manufactured in New Jersey, not India. Currently I cut the 5mg percocet in half and take only a half at a time.
Both the pharmacist and the palliative care doctor agree that this cut back is doing NOTHING for illegal drug use. It is directly impacting chronic pain patients who are taking the medication responsibly as prescribed. At the moment, I see it as nothing but pandering/selling their agenda; just a distraction from taking care of important business They dont care who they harm along the way. Forgive me if I've repeated this in another post. I Wouldnt even Vote if there was an election right now.
I decided to go with Oxycodone generic 5mg and when needed add tylenol. The pharmacist called me when I got home and assurred me there was no crospovidone or any idodine in the Epic. The pills are small and they are white. No dyes. Its a big difference with a small independent pharmacy. They have more freedom. He does not change generics constantly. Oh, and a real plus; there busy but they actually answer the phone and there isnt a line in the drive through pharmacy that looks like in and out burger.
I hesitated to comment until I see how goes but I just think it could be an option for you. Im going to try the straight oxycodone tonight. I will let you know how it goes. I did remember that by accident the oncologist prescribed oxy about a year ago. I switched immediately after trying one; because as I recall, I felt shorter of breath and blurred vision. I talked to the pharmacist and he said; it should not make me any more short of breath than the percocet. It may take a little adjusting. I will try it tonight before bed and eventually get back to you.
One more thing; I called Walgreens corporate yesterday and I was very clear that I just wanted to know if I could have the Actavis ordered. They promised to call back. However all they did was message the pharmacy and tell them to call me about my drug side effects. They knew damned well that I had no complaints about the Actavis. That's It! Never told the truth about why I called. It was too late to call when I got home but I will call them Monday and let them know how dishonest I think they are. I rarely write a yelp review but I will find the time. On second thought, I think I will wait to all prescriptions are transferred. (-:
There was a monetary benefit for them to go with Camber. Until they lose a significant amount of business, we mean nothing to them. More people like ourselves will unknowingly use the Camber and spend days analyzing why they feel so miserable. Like a lot you, I spent untold wasted hours on this while not feeling well. I had to make a decision and do something.
Re: Vee (# 1)
The drug companies are liars. The new Walgreens "Percocet" is a scam. I too was very nauseous. Where can you take it to get it evaluated?
I have been taking the Percocet 10/325 by Camber Pharmaceuticals for 45 days. I am on my second month's bottle. I noticed they seemed to be ineffective. So I took a U/A. The results are that I am not using any opiates. With disbelief I bought a second OTC drug panel and I passed it as well. So I have been prescribed an opiate by a doctor, filled by Walgreen's and there is no proof that I have been taking it at all. I smell a rat. Can a doctor and pharmacy administer a placebo legally?
Re: Hawaii (# 392)
Good question Hawaii; thank you for bringing this to light. I’ve been on strict pain mgmt for 15yrs; my body consistently all that time has never felt a side effect, a tolerance issue, etc w/ my percocet 10/325 3x’s a day has kept my life productive “normal” to a tolerable mid range 5-6 on pain scale w/med & spinal inj. blocks 2-3 x’s a year like clockwork....UNTIL SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING FOR THE LAST 8 months every month no matter what generic brand percocet refill I’ve gotten (trying a new brand each time...) within 10 minutes of dosing I’ve been feeling side effects as if I’ve been poisoned! (I've never been poisoned but u know what I mean). It cannot be a coincidence that we’ve all been drawn to this site sharing the same concerns & desperate for answers; the reason why & based on our long-term MANAGED use we all realize there’s a distinct formulation change; either an additive &/or elimination of ingredients. My fabulous, compassionate Dr is aware that obviously there's a change in this med as my allergic reaction(s) to whatever PHARMA has done WITHOUT OUR KNOWING like they r using us as guinea pigs without any pre-evaluations to approve any new meds as they used to do so they could knowingly make us sick & stop us & other’s to use oxycodone in any form to make it undesirable to addicts who abuse it. My Dr did prescribe me to try oxycodone 10mg w/out fillers & told me to buy over the counter tylenol 325mg to take with it assuming NO FILLERS would solve my issues. Tried that but obviously PHARMA changed that pill as well. It was & still is a nightmare. My lifestyle & the “me” I used to be has totally reversed. I’m sorry I went on so long in this comment but had so much to say. WE MUST TAKE THE NEXT STEP TO HAVE DRUGS ANALYZED BY A MED LAB! But how? Do we get a class action suit going & start from there?
Re: Anon74 (# 393)
OMG really?? This is horrible! Are tgey guving us placebos? On purpose??? Would explain so much if true. This is illegal to do to us. We newd to have all generics weve been given analyzed. This is about our lives here.
Re: bubblewrap (# 378)
Camber uses Hetero labs in India. The drug was fast forward on the quick pathway for drugs. The Fda has twice sanctioned camber in India with a 483 penalty bad manufacturing. The Fda inspector also captured on video the shredding of documents the night before the Fda inspected their facility. This outsourcing using blue dye and adding a thicker so it cannot be insects is making chronic pain users sick. Walgreens does not carry any other brand.
Re: Spark (# 8)
Yes I got the camber Pharmaceuticals oxycodone 5.0 and they do not work at all. I called Walgreens and they told me that Camber Pharmaceuticals was approved by the FDA and they have no plans to cancel their contract with them. These pills are inert ingredients they have no oxycodone in them and they make you nauseated and they taste like they have aspirin in them instead of acetaminophen.
Tried to get Camber replaced by Actavis at Walgreens. After 3 weeks of hassles the pharmacist calls and says he can't get Actavis and that Walgreens only supplies Camber. S***. Camber made me sicker than s***. What can I do? Said go ahead and refill with Camber. Looking for another pharmacy. Wonder if it will look like doctor shopping though?
Re: Billy (# 398)
No it is not doctor shopping as long as you wait the full 30 days to fill your script. And if the new pharmacy asks why your not filling at Walgreens again like you have been for the past few years just tell them they were not accommodating your needs. Now once again I'm gonna ask everyone on this site why won't you guys just switch to the oxycodone 10mg with no acetaminophen AKA Roxicodone 10mg or 15mg IR'S? I know for a fact they make the 10mg ones cause my ex-girlfriend used to get them their small round pink pills and the 15mg ones are small round green pills. If your going to a PM doc you should have no problem switching especially after you tell your doc about the problems the Camber Pharmacutal pills are giving you!! It's not like your asking to get bumped up to Oxycontin or Fentanyl. But if your not in PM and are just seeing a general practitioner this may pose more of a problem since they seem not willing to write for that med for some reason. So if I were in any of your shoes I would explain to my doc that those Camber pills are literally killing me and making me sick. And if your doc does not want to help you out I suggest that you find a new doc cause that is just unacceptable n outright wrong to be poisoned and made to suffer every month. I wouldn't stand for it and none of you guys and girls should either.
Let's all BOYCOTT these Camber ***holes. This should not be allowed in this day and age. There are far too many other options out there than to be stuck with these useless meds. And on a side note if your worried that your doc won't write for a hair bit stronger oxycodone (even tho they do make a Roxicodone 10mg with no acetaminophen) their pink in color. Their is also something called Zohydro it's Hydrocodone minus the acetamenaphin. I believe it comes in 10, 20 and 40mg. That way your doc wont be afraid to write for a stronger oxycodone in case hes one of those who hides behind the excuse of "I can't prescribe anything stronger to you or the DEA will be breathing down my neck" if anything he should be quick to write for the Zohydro since it's Hydrocodone not oxycodone. Well those are just a few ideas that I had to try n help my fellow pain suffers. And my heart goes out to all of you stuck on these s****y Camber crap. Please let me know if any of you had any luck with my suggestions or if theirs something I left out or you think my ideas sucked please let me know. THANX.
Re: Billy (# 398)
I replied last week but they never put up my post, I don't know why. Basically what I said was all you guys and girls taking these crappy useless Camber pills do have another option especially if you go to a PM DOC might be a little harder for the person going to a general practitioner. But why don't you guys just switch to the Roxicodone 10mg it has no acetaminophen in it and the ones my friend girl gets are round and pink. They probably make other generics that are different colors but that right there will solve all your guys problems no more having to fight with Walgreens or CVS or trying to find a mom n pop spot that has something besides Camber. They also make a 15mg that are round and green. I don't see why your doctor wouldn't prescribe these to you especially if he's fully aware of your problems having to deal with these stupid camber pills. I thought I'd share this with all of you n hopes of helping you if you thought you were stuck with no other choice, now you have two choices the 10mg or the 15mg oxycodone and if your doc wants you to take acetaminophen with your new pill have him write you a script for 500mg Tylenol or IB Profin 800mg. I hope this helps out some of you and I know some of you won't be able to do this because your General Practitioner can't write for those (or WON'T WRITE FOR THOSE SHOULD I SAY)
And something else to try would be Zohydro yes I know it's only hydrocodone but it's supposed to be just as good as the 5 and 10mg oxycodone. I only bring this drug up because some doctors won't write for oxycodone so now he don't have to. Tell him or her (the doctor) that is only hydrocodone it's a step down from the oxycodone you've been getting so their should be no reason he wouldn't write that for you. And trust me from what I hear Zohydro is pretty darn good and I'm sure it would beat those crappy Camber pills that's getting EVERYONE SICK it's worth a try. Please let me know what you guys think and if any of this info I gave you guys helped good luck to all of you
