Camber Adderall Complaints (Page 2)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

Camber's new generic for Adderall IR 15mg is no good. Prior to it I got 10mg Adderall from CVS and it worked great! Just got a fill from Kroger since CVS was out of stock. The brand is from Camber and not only does it not work, it makes me feel unwell, sleepy and super irritated. It’s crazy how companies are able to differentiate in their generics like they do. This Camber brand just makes me want to go to sleep but I feel so unwell it’s hard to. I can’t focus at all on anything but how sick I feel. Don’t take this new stuff people and if you have what did you think?

Re: mmmac (# 100) Expand Referenced Message

I understand. I'm 54 and I have been taking it for the past 20+ years. I have fibromyalgia as well as chronic fatigue/lethargy from other medications I have to take and adderall (I've only taken generic) is the only thing that has helped me to be able to get out of bed and be productive, focused, alert and feel hopeful to be able to live a somewhat normal life. The Camber and other poor quality generics have made me so ill and have affected me adversely in so many ways and then add to that, the stress of trying to get your medication for the next month....it's too much. It is really unfair. Is there not someone we can file a complaint with? Maybe a class action lawsuit?

Also, has anyone tried getting the actual brand? Is that out of stock as well? Is it much more expensive and does it work better? I've never tried brand so I was wondering.

Re: Optimistic (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

Does anyone else get a weird side effect of their tongue getting sore and swollen? Like the taste buds get dark red, swollen and inflamed and it hurts to talk or eat? I noticed it went away when I was off my medication for a few days? If this happens to you please let me know. It has to be the medication for me, no other cause and it always coincides with my medication.

Re: Tevanooooo (# 7) Expand Referenced Message

YES! I had that head pressure the whole month I was on it. I had to take Tylenol constantly for the headaches. I felt pretty good for about the first 7 to 8 days and then I became increasingly more irritable and downright angry and verbally aggressive while on it. I would get sleepy and sort of "spaced out" and numb. I had no motivation. It was horrible.

I had to get Camber last month and had never heard of it. I was fine for the first few days and then I started feeling myself get so irritated and then angry. I was fighting and yelling with my husband over stuff I didn't even know why. I actually started slipping into depression and was feeling unmotivated and even "numb" towards the end of the prescription month. Luckily my CVS had their usual Alvogen in stock this month but I have issues with that too but not as bad. The anxiety I go through every month wondering if I can my medication on time, or at all, or how many days I will suffer without it, which brand I'll end up with, etc.... it's so unfair.

I was taking amphetamine/ dextroamphetamine salt combo 20mg tabs made by TEVA. Then got switched to the Camber brand and immediately noticed a difference. I wasn't getting the same effect/results, not even close ! Even taking an additional dose just left me confused and frustrated.
I'm going to talk to the pharmacist to see about exchanging what I have left for the TEVA brand. I'll post my results after that.

Re: A very pissed off patient (# 104) Expand Referenced Message

I had a negative reaction to Camber's version of Adderall this month and was incapacitated. I'm grateful that I have a long-term relationship with my doctor and that he took my symptoms seriously and worked with two different local pharmacies to help me get Teva instead. It makes me sad to imagine what people without that kind of care are going though. Even after discontinuing Camber, I felt sick for several days - with nausea, headache, brain fog, and depression. I reported the experience to the FDA and hope others with similar experiences do the same. For those who haven't had negative side effects, I'm so glad and hope that continues.

Re: MALEX (# 85) Expand Referenced Message

requesting a dif manufacturer is all well and good...except we are in the middle of a national shortage of not only 1 manufacturer, which we with ADHD prefer, but several others now as well. You sound so "high and mighty" in your reply.
Look to the medication Concerta...some of the generics are NOT the same as the name brand due to the release mechanism which is patented by the name brand, therefore, the generic's release of the medication is NOT the same/is not equivalent.

Exact same problem. I am so pissed off. I had to fill Camber brand Adderall 15 mg 4x a day because I normally take 30 mg 2x a day and this crap is all they had. This generic brand has made me unbelievably sick. 24/7 horrible headache, diarrhea, awful stomach pain, horrible anxiety, so restless so exhausted but can’t sleep. My insides are crawling. My chest hurts. My body hurts. I feel like getting a lawyer a suing them. This past month has been hell because of this medication. How, how, how did this medication get released to the public?! I didn’t know what was wrong with me. I had no clue it was this new brand of medication until reading the unbelievable amount of reviews on it from people having the exact same issues.

I received Camber 10 mg generic adderall from my pharmacy this past month (August 2022). It was horrible, headaches, extreme fatigue, upset stomach and sores popped up everywhere. I had previously taken generic adderall (prior to my past two pregnancies) to help with my inattentive ADD. I was diagnosed in college after having to withdrawal from many of my classes due to test scores. I was always a poor test performer, but in high school my homework scores made up for it. I would stay up late every night weeks before a test to study (we are talking up until 3 am) with the same result. I also had a hard time with reading comprehension, even failing the first grade. As an adult, I rely on medication while working in my professional career to stay on task, wrap things up and plan ahead. It calms the noise and allows me to problem solve rather than feel overwhelmed and procrastinate. The previous generic helped me with this and was a life saver. It made me function as a normal individual (not over perform just perform without the extraordinary extra effort I had previously required). I never felt the medication, but I could tell it was working by the calmness and focus. Camber’s generic does nothing for me, there are no benefits and many issues. It makes me agitated, dries my skin out, gives me headaches, makes my stomach hurt, makes me sweat, has caused sores to pop up and makes me extremely sleepy. I have asked for the brand name moving forward and would recommend that to others as well.

I take this medication for narcolepsy which is severe. When I was given Adderall made by Camber, I actually fell asleep… No joke, and this is never happened to me before. I filed a formal complaint on the FDA webpage, and if you have had a similar experience you should as well

Re: mmmac (# 100) Expand Referenced Message

So sorry you’ve had such difficulty. Seems generic adderall has been problematic for quite some time. I haven’t taken it for about a year and half because I was getting heart palpitations from it. So, I asked my doctor for an alternative. He prescribed Vyvanse at 30 mg/day to start. I’ve worked my way up to 50mgs/day and this dosage seems right for me. Maybe Vyvanse is something you and your doctor could consider. It’s definitely not the same as Adderall. But, my attention is better with it than without so, I’m grateful for this alternative. Good luck!!

I’m in the same hell as the rest of you. It seems like the longer I’ve taken it, the worse it’s affected me. When I went for a refill after the unpleasant first month of the Camber (also wasn’t told it was different by pharmacist), I requested a different brand because of the adverse everything caused by the Cambers.

Walgreens told me to pound sand, which doesn’t matter anymore because they no longer will fill Adderall after the lawsuit settled in August.
I was so relieved when I found out it would need to be filled at an independent pharmacy! They didn’t accept my insurance but I was fine with paying because I sincerely believed they would have something else. Got home, opened bottle, same Camber crap as Walgreens. Of course, it will be another month before I can beg them to not give me that.

Nauseous all day, every day, falling asleep, walking around in circles, etc. I haven’t even been able to finish unpacking and settling after moving 7 months ago! My boyfriend thinks I don’t care or aren’t interested in anything he says and I’m so distracted by everything.

And the vision thing. I haven’t been able to find an explanation for it, as my vision was 20/10 when last tested a year ago.

I’ve tried various dosages and changing the schedule. Nothing. English degree yet I’m having difficulty composing this.

This is not a recreational situation - I’m 50yo cursed with idiopathic hypersomnia and ADHD.This is real for most of us. People don’t search the internet for hours looking for opportunities to sing the praises of a prescription medication which is making serious people ill.

Did you have covid? Seems like everyone is having problems with literally every adderall medication after Covid… it’s hit or miss for me. Usually none work anymore and I can’t get my brain to focus on 1 thing for over 5 minutes. It’s horrible and really screwing up my life. Also after Covid my quality of life been Way down and doctors and family suggest I have ‘long-term covid’.

That’s why I’m wondering if that is what’s causing the medications not to work.

So I usually get Lannett generic brand but the Walgreens my doctor sent it to only had Camber. So the took 15mg and literally was able to take a nap on it LOL. But now I took two 15 mg that made it like a 30 mg pill and it work perfectly. I really don't have any complaints. So far it has been 3 hours and it is working just like the Lannett generic brand. So see if you just take a little more that want is prescribed and see what happens.

Both 20 Mg and 30 Mg Dextro/Amph-SC by Camber filled by Walgreens produce same effects.

- Left/right brain tingles
- Blood pressure increase
- Extreme fatigue
- Depression

I took 1 half of each on two different days with one full day in between. I slept 12 hours on each dose after 2 hours of ingesting.

I have had to request that the pharmacy (I use Kroger) ONLY fills my Rx for Adderall with the name brand. I don't have health insurance so I am paying for it out of my own pocket and let me tell you that after all the nightmarish side effects I experienced with the Camber generic brand, paying the couple hundred dollars more for Adderall brand is worth it. I had to start using the extended release because it's cheaper but with my blink savings card (Blink is comparable to Good Rx) 30 of the 30mg XR Adderall brand costs me around $230.

At least I know if I'm getting the name brand every month my medication won't change. It's hard enough having ADHD without these pharmacies switching generics on us but they are NOT all the same formula!

Always check your prescription when you pick it up! Check the manufacturer and refuse it if it's Camber. Lanette doesn't work either but it doesn't have the nasty side effects that Camber does. The Kroger pharmacy I use is really inept at paying attention to what my doctor specifies on my Rx. They have tried numerous times to substitute a generic when my doctor clearly states to DISPENCE AS WRITTEN. So if anything, check to make sure your pharmacy is following directions.

I am so sorry all of you are going through this. I spent a whole entire summer in a deep depression because most of these pharmaceutical companies are manufacturing something that they have absolutely NO BUSINESS making!

Hang in there people. Hopefully these pharmacies will get the hint if more of us refuse to accept their fake ADHD medication.

Re: Diego (# 31) Expand Referenced Message

But wait a sec, until tonight I had no idea that there were different manufacturers of generic Adderall. After looking for a picture of the pill I’ve taken for 20+ years, I found Elite was the manufacturer. My Adderall tablets are round this month. I didn’t care, it’s all the same right? However the day I started on the new round pills, headache, nausea, uneasy, yawning constantly, stomach pain, dizzy, no stamina, motivation or give a f’s at all. Crabby if anyone even whispers my name because the headache is so intense. Looking for an explanation, I even took a covid test. It was negative. Being so irritable, I went online and googled what’s wrong at Walgreens that they have no Adderall (they partially filled my Rx and told me to find another pharmacy outside of the Walgreens chain to get the rest of it). Trying to find an answer lead me to all these threads about generics. First I’d heard of it. Camber kept popping up as a stay away from manufacturer. I wondered what I was taking and looked at the bottle. Camber. I googled it and found description after description of what I was experiencing. My problems with taking Camber’s generic came long before I even knew there was a company called Camber. Yes it’s all in my head, but not because someone put it there. You worry bout yourself.
