This is the number to Purdue when calling select Opt # 2 and explain the adverse reaction that you are having from the new reformulated Oxycontin. The number is 888-726-7535. If the new type is working for you then great. I and several people I spoke with said it gets stuck in your throat even with food. Plus it does not last 12 hour. I understand why they re-made it kids should not take it and as far as how people take it snort, inject or chew its their business. Nobody should tell another ADULT how to live his or her life. It sucks to live in pain it really does. Good Luck All
op hurts it sounds like the med is not getting in your system and you are going through withdrawals.I would get off them and have the dr put you on something else.
Purdue will not go back to the old oc they say to many kids were getting them to get high.I had to stop the op's they were making me sick and my pain level never changed it took me since Sept to get it through to my drs that the op's were causing alot more problem. So he put me on the codone 4 times a day but that is still not enough to keep the pain under control I have been on meds for 12yrs the 60oc were doing pretty good but now i am still suffering I was taking 200 mg a day then when he put me on the codone he dropped my dose to 120 a day because they r fast acting they don't understand how much that effects you when you don't have the rt dosage.I blame Purdue and I hope to hear of a class action suit against them. They put people on meds like this then just change it without even testing it.It does not work I don't care what any Dr says if they hav'nt taken them both they have no clue.
Guest - Who are you talking too? Me?
Shame on you! Your a monster for posting such bulls***. No empathy..no compassion.and apparently you can not think in logical way's. Your thinking is a complete lie. What other deceptions do you believe?I bet your a liberal democrat who still believes obama has your best interest's at heart. You will be sitting in a fema camp STILL believing he is going to buy you a car feed you. Someday you will more than likely suffer a painful condition although i hope not..no one should live their life in pain and i wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy but when/if you do..the compassion you lack will boomerang to you.. its a life rule.. you reap what you sow.
Vito - I was told that Purdue tried this s*** (reformulation) of oxy's a few years ago. Because of all the bad calls and inquires about this, they went back to the old oxy formulation. Do you know anything about this? If it's true, lets all get on the "band wagon" and call and call and call. Let me know if you have any information on this? It would be interesting to know! Thanks
You are the one selling them if they havent made you sick
I have had the awful itching I mean I'm scratching my skin off. It hurts so bad when I take a shower when it touches my skin. The stomach pains nausea and vomiting the die rhea it's awful I want to cry I see the pills in my feces I know they are not disolving and providing the full relief they should be I've been taking them for 5 yrs and have gotten my life back because of them but now it has gone down hill. I'm not myself in bed and in constant pain the people that did abuse this medication ruined it for the people that actually use it as prescribed it did change my quality of life but now it's going down hill fast should there be a class action suit or something to get it through to this companies heads that there going to loose tons of customers and turn to another medication.
No generic is coming out purdue said maybe 2025 but then a dr said sometime soon but I think its all bull they want us in pain and sick there is know getting through to purdue or drs.
I have been on them a long time. When I talked to purdue they said there will be no more oc's made and nothing coming soon not even a generic. So I finally get my dr to change me to 30mg oxycodone that works if I take 2 together other than that nothing. After all the side effects that I complained to my drs. about that they didn,t believe like headaches, water retention pain really bad upset stomache all went away when I got the 30's so I am looking for another dr.I told him for months about this stuff he said its not from the med you know your body and drs need to start listening to what you tell them. The thing with the dr I had he puts me on 30,s and drops me 85mg a day so going through withdrawals he says because its not a long lasting its just as good taking 1 he is wrong and I told him.Drs need more education on this med.
Hey, I was on Oxycontin for 2 years, and they have recently switched my script to the new OP's. I have had nothing but issues since they have been switches. I get constant headache's, not eating right, and worst of all they don't even come close to stopping my pain. I am only 26 years old. I was a professional Mixed Martial Artist, and i got slammed on my head and fractured 2 verts. in my back, and have compressed discs. However I recently went to the pharmacy and got my 30mg oxy's filled, and my break through medicine 15mg oxycodone, and to my astonishment I got the old Oxy's back!!! With the OC on one side and the 30 on the other. I was wondering is this something i can look forward to? or was this just a lucky glitch? I went to a large CVS too, it wasn't like a mom and pop cvs. I have never abused my medication, and i hate that some asshole's have to ruin it for people who are in pain. I have been fighting professionally for 4 years on the MMA scene. I have a huge pain tolerance, i've had fractured hands, dislocated shoulders, and other ailments. But nothing can compare to the pain i've felt with my back, I would never wish it on anyone. I hope everyone out there gets help with their pain, and godbless you all. For everyone's sake i pray that they bring the old OC's back. I heard that they might bring back the OC's as the generic version, and keep the OP bulls**t for the brandname. Is there any truth to this?? IF anyone knows please get back to me. thank you

Thanks for the reply we do have walgreens around figures they are the only phar that I never used it was always rite aid or cvs but alot of people are writing about walgreens I hope so.I go this week and I can't take another month of the crap they are giving people .Thanks again
Angel, i don't no if you have walgreens where you are but the walgreens here in So Fl carries the generac, maybe not all of them but some are getting them so you have to go to everyone if you have to, and go inside not the window look them in the eye, no matter what they say, i am telling you they still make the 80mg generac which are exactually the same as old ones, like i said they are the old ones, i have nothing to gain by fibing to you.. I asked for generac the next month after i got thoes worthless op's, figuring generac would be better than this crap and low and behold i get the oc's 6 months in a row now, i kid you not trust me, you just have to be presistant and look everywhere, just tell your pharma your insurance will only pay for generac not brand...people will tell you they don't make them,BUT THEY DO, I HAVE 87 SITTING IN FRONT OF ME RIGHT NOW...........from the same pharmam, no way they had that much stock piled...they make them
I will have to check with my Ins because this has gone to far to make people suffer the way they are.I have never felt so bad in my life.I just want them to try me on anything else that will hopefully give a 50% relief not a 0 and then some it just makes you sick all the time. There is not one day that I can say I felt good since they made the change all the money they get from the ins co.for what I think Ins co.should know that they are paying over 1k a month for something that does not work I will gladly tell mine.I have not seen the old ones in a couple months they split them up and told me they were trying to get rid of the old ones. When I talked to purdue again today they said there will be no change in the future they did it because of the junkies out there well I am not one of them and I need the meds to get through the day now I can't.
I feel for all my fellow pain suffers, i have never abused my meds and as far as i am concerned it is not possable, anybody who has taken these med for any length of time knows that we are so used to them that we don't get high anymore if we wanted to but they DO make it possable for me to work and lead as normal of life as i can hope for in my condition. Now it appears as thou i have been lucky or something, i have my ideas as to what is going on, i will share some of them, i have only been stuck with the OP's one time, it was 7 months ago, that is when i found out about the switch, they were TERRABLE, side effects just like wverybody else, they don't work...since then i have asked for and gotten generac, they are the original OC's i have gotten them from the same pharma for the last 6 months, so they are being restocked, got my refill yesterday in fact, OC's but i have noticed that they look at me funny now since i want only generac, what do you make of this? yesterday when i went in to get refill they said no generac, don't make them anymore, i said that was strange cuz my insurance BCBS just told me that they do make them(was telling a fib) just had to look around, and she said well let me look, a minute later she said she had them would i like to wait or come back, i waited. this is the 6th month in a role i have recieved them from the same pharma but the pharma think me a junkie cuz i want the generac, my opion is they make them and it is purdue making them, the are exactaly the same OC/80 markings a differant company would have to change the mark, it is purdue and they are out there, this pharma HAS to be getting resupplied, it has been 6 months, there is not that big of a stock pile for me to still be getting from the same place...look for them, you will find them...I AM PROOF OF IT..........BUT YOU HAVE TO LOOK, AND IT IS WORTHIT, I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST
i agree i dont like the new ocs ops either but i dont know what to change too that was the only thing that really helped
I so totally agree with Angel. They weren't thinking about us, the people that don't snort, crush or inject them! We need these for real pain. Well my insurance will no longer cover the cost. So they have lost my monies. Maybe when the feel the "pinch" in their pocket book, they will think about "our" real pain. They could care less. I have spoken with Purdue several times and I get the same run around. So I give up!
Purdue wants us to suffer
I feel like suing Purdue for not telling us they changed the drugs formula,or to be accurate the pills new way of holding back the amount of pain killer you get over a 12 hour period. Its acts like nexium in a way,you see I have heart stents[4] and I have acid reflux, if I take nexium and then my pills for my heart plavix the medicine in nexium will block the absorption of the medicine in plavix and all other meds and I will definitely have a heart attack, but the doctors have known this and we worked a way out where I can get the proper help, sorry I cant tell you, its works for me, you need to ask your doctors ,not do what others do here...my point is even Purdues pharmacist on the phone told me "to be safe" take your meds 2-3 hours after taking Oxycontin ,so they do fear it might interfere with my meds and never thought of telling us.I always question any new drug with my doctor,i found out about this because the nightly dose of Oxycontin 2 40s was not getting me thru the night,I would wake up around 5-7[my wife works till midnight so we go to bed near 2 am] so anyway I would waKE UP WITH MY KNEES and elbows and other joints aching so bad I would have to take 1 of my 2 morning Oxycontins then or I would not be able to sleep. The proper way is 2 40s 2 times a day ,12 hours apart,it doesnt matter what time I take that last dosage,I wake up needing to take 1 oxycontin way to soon, this should not be happening,I then noticed the change in letters on the pill and the rest is history.I have called Purdue 2-3 times and wrote back when YOU sent a form, but never heard a thing, the number on the form you sent was USA-2010-0056310. My heart doctor isnt quite sure what to say as he doesnt know whats in the pill or anything about the change in make up.Neither could my gp,lung doctor,or pain management doctor,as none of them were told by Purdue they changed their pills make up.......I called the FDA ,their some what interested,we shall see......So for a few junkees, bums etc, we suffer, and they already on the internet are telling each other how to abuse the new set up,you should have left it alone.....BUT I ASK,WHERE IS THE ANSWER TO MY QUESTION,IS THE PILL NOW SLOWING DOWN MY HEART MEDICINES absorption, and why is it now weaker, I have been taking this med 8 years, its a Godsend, its allowed me to be able to walk a distance, etc etc,to bad this is happening........

I have been going through pain for 11 yrs now the oc were the only thing that helped then they cahnge them.weight gain, water retention high blood pressure head aches, rashes why can't they just say we did this and fix it.It is making people so sick and drs. are awful thinking its not the meds when you know your body and can't walk everyday there is a big problem they need a law suit for destroying lifes. The addicts that don.t need them need a rehab or get a job.I can't I without them I feel sick everyday and I blame purdue with there ops something needs to be done people can't live like this.
One word will help all of you! "Compound" - find a "compounding" pharmacy to fill your prescriptions. This will not be easy! However, there are compounding pharmacies that can and will do this for you. Contact your insurance company and doctor and make sure you get a pre-authorization for "compounded" medication. My husband took OP's for 2 months. Made him sick with all the things mentioned in other comments. The compounded formula works very well for him and he's pain free again and no longer sick with nausea and headaches and chills. If you have insurance you will probably have to fight with your insurance company. You might have to pay out of pocket and wait to be reimbursed by your insurance company. MAKE SURE your doctors fills out a "compounded" medication pre-authorization form or actually writes "compounded" medication on the form. The compounded formula is HALF the cost of the regular OP pills so if you do have to pay out of pocket and wait for reimbursement you might be able to do so for one or two months. Put it on a credit card and pay it back when you are reimbursed. Be prepared for your doctor's staff and insurance reps to not know what "compound" medication or that you can get your medication in this form. My husband's pain was managed well until the formulation change. Even though we are still fighting for reimbursement he is able to fight and not just lay in bed sick all day. Good luck!
