Calten-D contains: Calcium carbonate, Vitamin D3, and Elemental Zinc.
This is simply a prenatal Vitamin and Mineral supplement to help support a healthy pregnancy.
As far as side effects go, if the dose of this medication is higher than the US RDA (recommended daily allowance) there is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk (e.g., if the drug is needed in a life-threatening situation or for a serious disease for which safer drugs cannot be used or are ineffective).
