Bystolic Questions
UpdatedHi. I am taking a new beta blocker for 20 days now. I had to because of Sotalol and Apocard is not a good combination on the longer term (I have a light form of dilated cardiomyopathy). I take Nobiten now (5 mg) in the morning. Sometimes I still get a palpy and faster heart rate in the morning. When I get up early, take my pill and start to be active right-away. Some sources on the internet say it takes about 2-4 weeks to be fully active. Anyone with same experiences? I also have a itchy feeling over my body. Some rash on hands but I guess it's because of the hot and humid weather over here. I do have eczema for years. Ever since I was on a beta blocker. I do have health anxiety and I always am scared to drop dead... Thanks!

Hello, Kaytie! How are you?
Well, your heart rate is never going to hit just one consistent number and stay there. It is always going to fluctuate throughout the day, dependent on activity and it is perfectly normal for it to do so in the morning, when you first become active for the day. Your heart was basically at a lower resting rate all night, while you were sleeping and it has to rev up, once you start moving and going on with your day.
If it never does that, when your activity level increases, then you'd have to worry, because something could be wrong.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Thanks for your reply :). It is very much appreciated. I had to stop take the Nebivolol since it made me feel worse. I had 7 attacks of a faster heartrate in one month, with sotalol I only had it once or twice in a year. So I began to take the sotalol again and I have an appointment with my cardiologist tomorrow. I hope he takes his time and that he believes me, since I am 100% sure that I do not have any anxiety or panic attack. I guess it is SVT. The attacks are never caught on ECG before and after 10 years I want some 'relief'. So, you may keep your fingers crossed tomorrow ;). Anyway thank you for replying! I will keep you posted.
Today is was taken off labetalol 20 mg. Twice per day. Not weined off. Dr. Placed it with Bystolic 20 mg. Now up is 180/128 laying down. Sopposed to wait it out. I'm scared.
I've been on 2.5 mg of Bystolic for 1 year now. No side effects other than a low resting heart rate; usually 40-45 bpm range. My blood pressure is great. But now I'm having out-patient back surgery and they're having me take Bystolic every other day. My systolic is 173. Diastolic is 78. And my heart rate is 50. My blood pressure is too high and I feel fine taking Bystolic every day, but apparently it's too low for surgery! Now what???
I took amlodopine besylate 10 mg. And atenolol 100 mg together for years. Now there is some marketing problems with atenolol, so it has been replaced by my dr. With nebivolol. Pharmacist says it's safe to take with the amlodopine, but do I need both? My dr. NEVER gets back to me! Looking for a new doc., but does anyone know if I need both!? Some say nebivolol made them feel miserable by the 3rd day. Miserable how? ANY help really appreciated! Not ready to die yet, and sick of uncaring drs. THanks so much!
