Bustran Patch
UpdatedAnybody in United States Rx'd these? Im on 8/mg. sl suboxone/naloxone owe day-for 18+ months. Wondering if US addictions Drs. Would consider the switch as I feel I'm getting closer to being buprenorphine free !!! Although not in the near future of 2 months or less. Can anyone relate please reply if so. Thank You all ***Btw*** I am not "after/seeking" 4 patches per month to use and or abuse I am curious if the mcg dosage released in the transdermal patch is a better way to titrate/taper opposed to 8/2mg daily of suboxone.

Hi Skip,
Based on my research, trans-dermal patches are a more effective way of delivering medication directly into the blood stream. Using a patch to taper may be slightly more difficult since you will have to cut the patch into smaller sections and hope that it stays in place, however my research suggests that you would get more of the medication that way which would most likely be more beneficial. There are pros and cons to each method. I can't say for sure what will work best for you because your body chemistry and how it reacts to medication is unique to you. If it's easier to take the pills as opposed to cutting down the patches and applying small strips- then that may be better. Either way, both methods have surely been used before and as long as you take the correct dose everyday as you taper I imagine you could be successful either way. Also, while you're tapering- I really recommend that you stay very hydrated (preferably with alkaline lemon water) to help detoxify your body even faster. Good luck!
I hope my reply has helped in some way, please post back if you have any additional questions or comments!
