is it advisable to take Gen Payne if you are on warfarin ## Hi, my twenty year old son is taking marijuana. But of late now I found a pill in his bag called Gene payne. On warfarin from 2007 .suffering with a toothache.I've take gen Payne and feel my left jaw swelling can't sleep pain is real bad.I had am op in 2014 .I've got a metal valve.I'm terrified of the dentist. ## Gen-Payne is listed as containing Ibuprofen and Codeine, it is a mild opioid analgesic. Once you start taking this you will be on it until blood walls thin, then you will be begin to bleed inside, then they will make you stop taking it, and you will have a stoke or heart attack, there are many other ways to thin your blood. These blood thinner drugs are poison. They did this to my Mother and Father, and my sister as well. Please save your life and find an alternative. A natural coarse is always the best coarse of action. ## OMG THIS IS HORRIBLE POST IF TRUE.... I feel like my day and possible life is ruined from your post you better be spot on with taking the responsibility to post such a commentary. ## You didn't indicate where you got your medical degree when you posted this opinion. I have been on Eliquis for 3 years, after having a blood clot from back surgery. Also have Afib. I have pain all over...back pain, fibro, nerve pain. Terribly sore all time. Seems like it all became worse after I started taking Eliquis. Sometimes urine smells like motor oil. Don’t know if it’s Eliquis but I suspect it is. I have recently felt like I have some kind of arthritis. Just debilitating pain all the time. Wish I knew if it was caused by Eliquis! ## I was misdiagnosed with a blood clot in my calf. I went in with pain and they read the x ray wrong in urgent care. I was sent home on Eliquis only to end up by ambulance at the ER from side effects. You are not suppose to be on that for this long. You need a cat scan to see if you’re good if in fact you know that yo...

thin aging skin and skin tears. taking coumadin ## Although I have not been able to find the specific ingredients of Terrasil, I have found information about the sorts of ingredients which "Aidance Skincare" states are in their Terrasil product: Ingredients listed are Jojoba Oil, Organic Beeswax and Palmarosa Essential Oil. Based on that information, this is an over-the-counter skin ointment, with no prescription ingredients; so you would not need a prescription for it. Hope this helps! ## Is Terrasil available in Namibia ## For the person who said the ingredients in terrisil ..which are: jojoba oil..and so on .. History of valvular incompetence and superficial thrombophlebitis of Greater Saphenous Vein (GSV) in the left leg. After being on Eliquis (5mg x2 per day) for a little over 2 1/2 months due to GSV clot propagating into femoral vein (although not that impressive), I developed a case of what appears to be superficial thrombophlebitis in the medial calf of the opposite (right) leg. This seems somewhat odd as if the Eliquis is not working. Will be making an appointment with my vascular doc next week (even though not scheduled to have follow-up ultrasound for initial DVT until 10 more days). Any thoughts? ## No medication can be guaranteed to work 100% of the time, or to work for everyone that tries it. Have you had the exam, yet? If so, did it turn out to be another clot? my husband takes warfarin daily, we are wondering if taking diatomaceous earth to help lower cholesterol and blood pressure with his warfarin would effect anything? ## Unfortunately, this is just a supplement product, so it has not actually been checked for interactions with prescription drugs. Thus, the best advice I can give would be that he check with his doctor or pharmacist, before taking it. Learn more Warfarin details here. When taking Warfarin, one's INR can be very touchy, so it's always best to be cautious. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Verwon supplements are so popular today they should know if DE would interact with warfarin um I mean RAT poison.......... And, why is it that almost all crucial supplements like Vitamin K2 have a negative effect on warf...

The itch is in dif places all the time. It is waring on my nerves. I also use Symbicort steroid inhaler for asthma/allergies which I find makes my skin thin so when I scratch, I bleed a little so I have tiny scabs all over me. I am taking effient and have been for 6 weeks following a cardiac arrest and implementation of a bare metal stent in the LAD. It is determined that I am allergic to plavix and thus was prescribed effient. Has anyone complained of a very strong medicinal breath that I am unable to treat with constant brushing and mouthwash? ## I don't see it listed among the side effects, but such an issue is usually possible with most medications. The typical side effects include risk of bleeding, fatigue, headache, and peripheral edema. Is this the only medication you are currently taking? Have you consulted your doctor? Have others noticed the breath issue, or just you?

Was prescribed Xarelto 15 mg 2x daily two weeks ago for blood clot in the leg. I would like to keep taking the viamins/ supplements that I always took before this - I.e., B complex, Vit. C 1000 mg, Calcium/Magnesium, Vit D 2000 IU, Co-enzyme Q 10 200 mg, Biosil and Lutein. My doc said "no", but didn't tell me why not. Can't find any info anywhere to determine abiut this. Xarelto manufacturer has no info on package insert. Pharmacist doesn't seem to know either. I have read on another website that apparently the maket did not test for interactions w. vitamins, so they don't know. Does anyone here have any futher info regarding this? Hello - my dad was treated for prostate cancer 5 years ago via radiation and is in remission. He also is dealing with atrial fibrillation and is taking eliquis to counteract this. However, he recently has been bleeding quite a lot / passing blood in his urine / passing bloodclots and just had to have a transfusion to fight against the blood loss. The doctors are trying to find a remedy to stop this bleeding (they have said that around 5 years post prostate radiation treatment blood in your urine and clots can occur). The main issue is that my dad does not want to stop his eliquis in fear of a stroke and obviously wants to cease the non stop bleeding he is passing through his urine. Has anyone else experienced this? Prostate cancer with bleeding years later / A-fib / eliquis where they h...

Is it safe to take a Vitamin B Complex for my osteoarthritis while I'm taking 5mg of Eliquis twice a day. Also, regarding a multi-vitamin, what should I look for in terms of which vitamins, dosages and combinations that would be safe with the Eliquis I'm taking. ## Some vitamins can cause too much blood thinning, when taken with a medication like Eliquis, so it would be best to double check with your doctor, before taking them, just to be safe. There are also some vitamins that may reduce the effectiveness of the medication, such as vitamin K. Eliquis may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased risk of bleeding. Does your doctor have you on any dietary restrictions? Are you taking any other medications?

Is there a connection? My husband received 2 stents, one in October 2008 and a medicated one in November 2008. He was then placed on Plavix. In November 2009 he was diagnosed with AML leukemia, he passed away 6/2010 at the age of 56. There was no obvious reason for him to get leukemia, it is rare for someone that young to have AML. We know that his heart disease was genetic. He was very health conscious, always ate healthy, exercised and was in great physical condition. I have read little tidbits about Plavix causing bone marrow damage and am wondering if there are other Plavix patients that have or had Leukemia. Thanks, Chris ## There have been very rare cases of Leukemia reported in people using Plavix, however, the percent of occurrence has been less than 1%, so there has never been ...

Hi, my name is Laura and I just started taking eliquis about 2 1/2 months ago and I have gained 21 pounds which is highly unusual for me. Usually my weight remains steady. I have also been incredibly tired all day long which makes work next to impossible. As well as not having any energy to spend with my children. I am only 30, and was put on eliquis due to having a second pe and cumaden not being an efficient way to control my blood. Is it possible the eliquis is causing these problems? My Dr. Just blows them off when I talk to him. It is very frustrating. ## Hello, Laura! How are you? Yes, you are not the first person to report experiencing such side effects from this medication and the FDA does report that they are possible. You may also experience headache, dizziness, easy bruising ...

Hi, I just started taking Eliquis a few days ago for a DVT and I am wondering can you lose weight while using this medication? I've read that people have gained weight but what about losing weight? ## Yes, it is possible and has been reported as happening to some people that take it, but it is a very rare occurrence. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have gained weight. I have been taking for one month. I just don’t know about this. I am a incomplete paraplegic and I only gain 10 lbs in 9 years and I have gained over that in month... ## No definitely not. I have gained almost twenty pounds. why is cabbage and cauliflower to be avoided, are all green vegetable to be avoided. ## I have been on warfarin for 10 years. no need to AVOID greens - just eat the same amount, no more, no less, and your doc will adjust the dosage for your eating habits. BUT learn the things that throw your INR off, like alcohol (thins your blood) and greens,(thickens) so you can regulate your intakes. ## Steve is correct, and to be more specific, regarding the greens, it's anything with high amounts of vitamin K, such as spinach, since it is known to affect the thickness of your blood, and may throw off the efficacy of the medication. However, the caveat is that some doctors don't want to adjust according to your diet, and in most cases, they will just tell you not to eat those foods. So, it i...

I have had severe itching of scalp for the past year. Dermatologist said 'sebhoragic dermatitis' but the remedies did no good. I have bumps on the scalp. I don't know if it is malfunction of kidneys, liver, or just meds. I take Eliquis, Diltiazem and Ambien. My scalp is sore from scratching but I don't know what else to do. ## If I had to hazard a guess, it would be that it's the Eliquis, since it has been known to cause skin rash, and itching as side effects, along with nausea, headache, and increased risk of bleeding. These issues can occasionally also be caused by the Diltiazem, but it is not as common. Have you consulted your regular doctor? You might need to try different medications. ## My regular doc says it is up to the cardiologist, who insists I remain on E...

You aren't the first one to report such issues from taking this medication, there have been quite a few other people, as well. Many have had to switch off of it and try something else. Have you consulted your doctor, yet? This one might not be the right one for you to take. ## hi, I was wondering, can you tell me the difference in having to take a baby aspirin or go on something like Eliquis? About a month after taking Eliquis I started with being tired nearly all day. Just wanted to sit and close my eyes. I find myself leaning against walls, rubbing my face to remain alert and yawning a lot. I am also on a beta blocker but have reduced it with seemingly no improvement. MD isn't worried but it really is affecting my quality of life. MD ran a bunch of blood checks and all were normal. Right now not getting a lot of support from my doctors on this. ## Hello, Mark! How are you? The issue here is that people are experiencing this with the new medications in this class, but it's not something listed in the known side effects, which likely explains your doctor not worrying about it. I think the best thing to do, at this point, is to see him again and make sure to emphasize...
