As you probably know, the manufacturers have temporarily stopped producing the above & believe they will re-commence sometime in quarter 4 of this year. My doctors have tried me on Half Securon Verapamil Slow Release & most recently Slozem Diltiazem Hydrochloride - I feel sick as a dog with the latter - hot flushes, lack of appetite & worst of all a feeling like I have a bad stomach with a knot as though I have eaten something bad. Drs now saying I probably have stomach ulcers but I'm very sure it's the Slozem as it only started when I took Slozem. Do you know any alternatives closer to Univer Verapamil Prolonged/Release Capsules in their make-up, please? I seem to get no where with doctors & have been waiting 3 months for a hospital pharmacist to look at this sa...

Also with the Ilvitrim she was told to take 2 tablets every 2 hours: that does not sound right to me? ## Hello, Mich! How is your mom doing? Yes, they can be taken together, as long as her doctor approves. But it may cause an elevation in her potassium level, so her doctor should be monitoring her regularly. And yes, that can be a normal dosage, depending on how severe the infection from sores has become. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Maybe Benicar is the problem, so I want to get off 20mgs of Benicar that I'm thinking could be a factor, as it has caused a loss of appetite, cough, and fatigue. And instead of my usual 10:00 pm bedtime. I cant make it past 8:30. Constant loose stools 6 to 8 per day. Med lowers my blood pressure, but I want to get off. ## Hello, Pepshep! How are you? The FDA classifies Benicar as an ARB and those can all be typical side effects of it. You may also experience headache and increased urination. Will my hair grow back and what alternatives can the doctors give me. I'm very scared and worry about my hair loss and side affects from stopping the meds. ## Hello, Joanna! How are you doing? I strongly urge you not to stop it cold turkey, because doing so creates the risk of dangerously elevated blood pressure and heart rate, which could lead to health problems, such as heart attack or stroke, as reported by the FDA. It usually takes about 4 to 5 weeks for such side effects to improve, as reported by the U.S. FDA. You may also experience nausea, headache and increased urination. If they don't improve in that time frame, you should consult your doctor as you may need to try a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with?
Anyone had numbness, tingling, of left forehead, along with soaring BP and in next few minutes very low? Feeling so sick :-( ## Those can all be withdrawal effects, according to the FDA, if you stop taking it abruptly, rather than tapering it slowly. You may also experience headache, diarrhea and elevated heart rate. However, there is a risk of these symptoms become dangerous and causing a heart attack or stroke, so you should see your doctor immediately. Are you on any other medications?
I am taking femedipine er and clonodine 3 times a day and for spikes 0.2. Some days it keeps me down to 130/80 but some days im 155/95. What would you recommend to keep blood pressure level steady? ## Hello, Perla! How are you? You will never hit one steady number and stay there, it will always change, according to the NIH, depending on your activity levels, the foods you eat and etc. Have you been checking it at the same time of day, or at different times? Has anything changed in your diet? Do you eat a lot of salty or fatty foods? Have you been checking it while sedentary or after being active? Often, the easiest things we can do to help are proper exercise and dietary improvements, such as keeping our sodium and fat intake as low as possible.
