Recently, because of the shortage, I had to temporarily switch pharmacies to get my prescription. Four doses later the headaches started. For the last month I have been having unrelenting headaches. I just can't shake it. It's pretty much constant. I've tried everything, thought of all the benign reasons why, and this is my last Hail Mary before I see my Dr and tell him I'm convinced I have a brain tumor. Pathetic but I am miserable. Is it possible changing from one manufacturer to another who might use different inactive ingredients be the cause of these headaches? A sensitivity to something maybe? I'm sure in the past my Atenolol has been switched up occasionally, but it's the last thing I can think ...

I am using amlodipine besylate 10 mg once a day for high blood pressure a white pill with the numbers of 93 on one side and the numbers of 7168 on the other side. Could this medication be for treatment of only high blood pressure? With the above medication i am also being giving irbesartan 300 mg. I read that one of these pills is also for the to protect my liver from damage due to having diabetes. ## Hello, Torito! How are you? Many medications have multiple medical uses. For instance, I take Atacand, which contains the active ingredient Candesartan, it is a blood pressure medication, but also helps improve cardiac function, which is why my doctor has prescribed it for me. I take a different one in a higher dose to control my blood pressure. And yes, some are also known to have a prote...
My mother is 79yrs old. She has had an Electrolyte problem for the last 2 yrs. Sodium levels are coming down. This is the 3rd year. Even in May of 2010, she began having the same problem. From May 2010 to till Dec 2010 she used Covance 50mg for BP and Wysolone 5mg. She did not have any problem. Soduim levels are 138.4 out of 145 and hemoglobin is 10.4, this result is from mid December. In mid Dec 2010, she got a cold and cough, so we went to the doctor and she normally checked the BP and she found a little bit of high BP, i think 152 (I don't remember exactly) and the Doctor prescribed Losar - H (LOSARTAN POTASSIUM AND HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE) twice a daily instead of Covance 50 mg. We went to my native place and i did the electrolytes test on Jan'6th, i found the difference to be 3...

I want to know about Prexum (perindopril) ## My father was given Prexum as blood pressure medication by his doctor. He was told to take 2 tablets a day, but after about 5 days he ended up in the hospital gravely ill. His body was quivering, eyelids, mouth and hands were unsteady. His lips, tongue and throat were swollen. He couldn't talk or walk. Could he have had an idiopathic anaphylaxis shock? He was released from the hospital and is at home at the moment. He seems very weak but he can eat soup and yogurt, drink water and tea. He can walk and go to the toilet by himself but my stepmother is always with him to make sure he doesn't fall and get hurt. ## This medication is used to help treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions. I have 2 slipped discs and I have fibromyalgia now. I also have high blood pressure which is always up from this chronic pain I have every day and night. All day and all night I am about to lose my mind from all this constant pain. What can I do? I was taking oxycodone 15mg for 5 months and I was in peace, but now I am in so much pain. I don't abuse them ever and my system is clean. I don't drink alcohol or do any kind of drugs at all. I could walk but now I am struggling, as my mobility is gradually deteriorating. I use to get around without needing help and use to help the very elderly people. Now I can't anymore, as I need help. I am 63 and very healthy except for this high blood pressure; no other sickness or disease of any kind. Never had any disease. This quack of a do...

I had been on losartan 100/25 for the past 6 years after being diagnosed with high blood pressure. Over time, I noticed when changing my diet, my blood pressure would go down... I recently started eating low carb and lost about 18 pounds - I had noticed the 100 mg was making me dopey, weak, sleepy and even causing anxiety and discomfort... My doc said I should cut it to half so now I take 50 mg in the morning and still take my 5mg amlodipine in the evening. She said I should self-medicate according to my symptoms and increase or decrease as I feel necessary. I feel significantly better and wake up with a healthy blood pressure. But I have a feeling that by the afternoon my blood pressure sometimes elevates again, especially when I'm active or stressed... I have found the doc a bit u...

Side effects of Coveram 5/5: I was taking Zestril 20 mg for many years and my Dr just recently 5 weeks ago suggested I change to Coveram 5/5. But since making the change I suffer from continuous mild headaches, slightly swollen ankles and have now developed rashes around both ankles. I had absolutely no side effects from the Zestril and only changed because my Dr advised me that Zestril was an old type of medication! I am 71 years of age and have suffered from mild hypertension for over 20 years. I want to go back to taking Zestril but just concerned about the transfer process. Should I just stop taking the Coveram and just start the Zestril the following day? Thanks for your advice. ## Hello, Tony! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you're experiencing. However, accordin...

I've been on Lisinopril for almost 10 years. Started out taking 10 mg along with baby aspirin once a day. Im now on 20 mg once a day. Last year I got pancreatitis and am now diabetic due to my pancreas being inflamed. I believe it's from the Lisinopril and metabolism booster I was taking. I had another pancreas attack last Saturday but am feeling much better now. I'm not a drinker and there's nothing wrong with my gall bladder. I'm gonna try the mash diet but I'm scared going cold turkey on the Lisinopril, yet I don't want it hurting me anymore. What should I do? ## Sorry bout that. I read what I wrote. It's not the mash diet. It's called dash diet. Dietary approaches to stop hypertension ## Hello, Cheri! How are you feeling? Going off such a medicati...
I'm a 51 yr. old female who woke up on April 7, 2011, with an extremely salty taste in my mouth. When I tried to drink water to wash it out, it was like drinking salt gargle water. Nothing I eat or drink makes it go away. I can't stand to put anything in my mouth that is salty because the salt taste already in my mouth makes it almost unswallowable. Prior to that day, I have only 2 regular medications that I take daily: Lisinopril 40 mg( increased from 20 mg in mid November) for high BPas well as HCTZ 25 mg(been taking Lisinopril for 8 years) and 1mg of ropinorole(generic for Requip) for RLS (taking for almost 6 years). I also take black cohosh twice a day for hot flashes and night sweats(last menstrual cycle was Sept. 2010). On March 18, I started taking a 10 day prescription f...

UpdatedI take lisinopril and wanted to know if there is any difference between taking either the zestril or prinivil? I am talking about differences besides the actual way the pill looks, relating more to how you feel on either of them or side effect related..... ## I am curious too. I have taken lisinopril for years and never known it to have another name on my bottle. My bp was awesome. Now all the sudden it says generic for prinovil and It doesn't seem to work at all. I think the zesteril has the hydroclorothyazide added and its a small diueretic and makes you pee more. I took the HCTZ alone before and it made me feel like I always had a uti. burning sensation. IDK to tell my doctor to up dosage or what since it doesn't seem like its working. ## What does lisinopril help me in my he...
