What can I do because I'm thinking of stopping these blood pressure medications? ## Hi David, Another David here (Lol) - Sorry to hear about your side effects after switching medications. From what I've researched, a "loss of interest or pleasure" is listed as a less common side effect of Perindopril; which sounds exactly like what you're describing. Personally, I think you should do what feels right for yourself after weighing out the pros and cons of taking these medications (or perhaps just Perindopril in particular). There are numerous blood pressure medications and natural alternatives on the market for effectively managing hypertension. How...

I was told there could be a problem taking Quinipril and Avalide at the same time on a consistent basis because they are basically in the same class. Any truth to this? ## Is it ok to take magnesium while also taking quinipril? ## Yes, usually, you should take one or the other, though you may be able to take other blood pressure and cardiac medications, at the same time, according to FDA reports. Barb, it really depends on your blood pressure levels, since the FDA warns that Magnesium may also lower it, and cause drowsiness. How are you both doing?
I have to switch over from Amlodipine to Inderal La 120mg caps, but I haven't switched yet due to both interacting with each other (which can cause major reactions). How long do I need to wait for no interactions? Also, I have Graves Disease. Thank you. ## Hello, Donna! How are you? In most cases, when it comes to such medications, you can must make a clean switch from one to the other, unless your doctor has advised otherwise. I am suffering high blood pressure 150/84 and cholesterol. Can I take Ecosprin and Tazloc 40 together? Are there any side effects? ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no interactions listed between Ecosprin (Aspirin) and Tazloc (Telmisartan). This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, so I still think it's imperative that you discuss this with your doctor first. However, I do tend to trust the research stemming from universities of this caliber. Also, if you are taking both meds together it would be particularly difficult to distinguish the origin of side effects that do occur as being attributed to either medication in and of itself vs a reaction that was caused by the two of them together. This is a larg...
I need to know how long clonidine stays in your urine? I am on a methadone clinic and they just started taking levels of clonidine in our urine, if you are not prescribed, you get immediate discharge, no detox. Please help. ## I couldn't locate a definitive source for this answer, however a few references noted that Clonidine stays in your system for roughly 2-3 days for a urine test. I would personally suggest giving yourself about close to a week though if you've been using it for a while; depending on your metabolism, diet, weight, etc. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables while staying hydrated throughout the day will significantly help your body detox quicker (from both clonidine and methadone). Besides getting plenty of rest each night I'd also recommend getting at l...

I have been taking losartan 50 mg a day, but divided in the morning and night. As my dr noticed side effects, I was later prescribed 25 mg. Is there another medicine that will lower my bp but with less side effects than losartan? Or can I take half of 25mg one time a day? ## I am taking this drug as well with the same side affects. After having taken it for a month the cramps (Charlie horses) have all but stopped. ## Those might be side effects of this medication, according to NIH reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. But as GS stated, they typically go away, after your body becomes used to the medicati...
