Today my blood pressure was 121/98 and pulse 109. ## That is normal, Methylprednisolone is a steroid class medication and it is well know to cause elevated blood pressure and heart rate as side effects, according to FDA reports, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, and acne. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?
I would like to know what potential side effects are associated with the use of Stamlo-T (Amlodipine + Telmisartan)? ## Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker and Telmisartan is an ARB, both of them are commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Side effects may include: nausea, headache, dizziness and stomach pain. ## Hello... For around 3 years, I was prescribed amlodipine 2.5 for my bp.... Recently, my doctor changed it to telma h 40... However, I started getting some intermittent itching sensations in my hand and legs and saw the doctor again... Google shows itching as a potential side effect of telma h. Then the doctor again prescribed me amlodipine 5mg; however he said he never saw any such side effect of telma h in other patients.... Also, when I ...
Found these white oblong pills in my son's room. It had G on one side and 154 on the other and I cannot find any information on that pill. Any help would be great. ## White, oval, g imprint on one side and 154 imprint on other, pill, ## @Kev, From what I could gather, there are at least three different drug manufacturers who use a capital G on one side of their tablets (Greenstone Ltd., Global / Impax Pharmaceuticals & Guardian Drug Company). Each of their G's look slightly different. So if you are able to determine which G matches your pill, we would at least be able to tell who the manufacturer is, and possibly take it from there... That's just one idea anyways. You may be able to search each manufacturer's product page or google their unique logos for more specifi...
I am concerned about taking both prescriptions, as I am tired all the time. I tell my Dr., but he says if it keeps the pressure down keep taking them. Just wondered if I am the only one out there feeling this way. ## no i feel the same way very tired all the time can not even clean house ## That is a nornal side effect for these, it should, however, wear off after a few weeks as your body adjusts to the med and the change in your blood pressure. If it doesn't, then please speak to your doctor again and make sure to stress how severe it is. ## i also take both medicines norvasac and linsopril. I just started and yes, it makes me tired. ## I take Lisinopril/HCTZ, Lipitor, and Norvasc (1 year). I've been running for years, but can barley run 5 minutes without back and leg pain. I...
GP had taken me off this drug (2.5mg) that I have been on for 15 years. I was getting muscle cramps, shoulder pain, persistent itch, visual problems, feelings of detachment. God bless my GP. Been off this for 10 days now and ALL these feelings have disappeared as if by magic! However, now experiencing light headedness that can last about an hour. Think this is probably normal but can anyone tell me how long this is likely to last before it settles? Would be really grateful for others experience if coming off this drug. ## Hello Feugo, I'm very glad to hear that your GP was able to identify the root cause of your symptoms and have you taper off of this drug. Simply curious, do you have a plan of swapping to a different type of drug for the original problem? The FDA reports that when ...
My grandmother'so Dr. told her to double up on her blood pressure medication. She is already taking Losartan 100mg...this would mean that she would take 200mg at one time. Is that safe? ## Hi Jess19, My opinion is that if her doctor instructed her to do so then odds are it probably is safe, since he/she has likely made this decision based off your grandma's medical records and an in-person evaluation of the condition (I would hope). Furthermore, 200mgs a day is reportedly the maximum recommended dose of Losartan Potassium - So your grandma's dosage still falls within FDA guidelines. As to how she might respond or react to such a dosage, only time will tell, as everyone is affected differently by these medications. However, it may be a good idea to closely monitor her blood p...
What is the safest ace inhibitor with the least bad side effects? I currently take Lisinopril and have discovered that it has some possible scary side effects. ## Hello, Cathy! How are you? There really isn't any one that is considered safer than the others, most side effects are common among the various medications in this class. The FDA lists them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, lowered heart rate, and hypotension. What side effects did you read about that scared you? It is really a matter of trying various medications to find one that works for you, without making your miserable from side effects. Are you on any other medications? ## I have been on Lisinipril for 10 years and I’m sure some of the side effects I have blamed on other me...

Is this Atenolol - a blood pressure pill? ## Hello Stormy, I wasn't able to find anything that matches your description but I was able to find a 100mg atenolol pill marked gg 264 which looks like it could be mistaken for gg 254. I will post a picture below, let me know if this is what you have before I provide you with additional information. Let me know if this is a match and then I will post additional information. I will keep searching for a 254 in the mean time.
What program should I follow to taper off and finally stop taking Losartan? ## Hello, Bob! How are you? What condition are you taking it to treat? If you have high blood pressure and stop taking it, you create the risk of your blood pressure going back up, again. There is actually no cure for high blood pressure, it can only be managed. This is especially risky, if the medication is the only thing keeping it down. Elevated blood pressure creates the risk of heart attack, stroke and congestive heart failure. Are you also watching what you eat and getting plenty of exercise? Losartan is an ARB that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure, typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension, increased urination and headache. ## Thank you for the informat...

I've been taking losartan for 4 weeks for terrible joint pain. I'm going to stop taking it since it has only been a month. Can I just stop it abruptly? ## Losartan is used to treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions. It will not do anything to help with joint pain. And according to FDA reports, stopping it abruptly can create the risk of rebound elevated high blood pressure and elevated heart rate. Are you on any other medications? ## Losartan, i have been taking the 100mg for a week for high blood pressure and i have at least 1/2 to 3/4 of the simptoms in the side effects... its giving major back pain... how fast in your opinion can i stop this??? ## My father has been taking losartan 25 mg for 2 months and started getting a dry cough for a month now... I've been taking Felodipine and Indapamide for 6 months. They were prescribed by a Hypertensive Specialist for high bp. Both of these prescriptions are non refillable through pharmacy. I have no intention of returning to see this doctor. There are maybe 10 tablets of each for the next 10 days or so before they run out. Is there a way to gradually reduce these meds so they can be stopped altogether? Any information is more than welcome. ## Why are you no longer going to see that doctor? If you have high blood pressure and do not get it under control, you could be risking a heart attack, stroke, or congestive heart failure, any of which could be fatal, according to NIH records. As someone that has experienced congestive heart failure, please allow me to state that passing out in the E...
I take amlodipine besylate 10mg + lisinopril 40mg + metoprolol 25mg, but because it is a holiday, of course, my blood pressure is sky high, 197/101 at the lowest. How can I lower it fast? I need help. ## Hi Babs, Sorry to hear about your condition. I think from an outside perspective, the most I can suggest is to simply find ways to remain calm and stress-free throughout the day. It's always easier said than done, but if it were me, I may consider practicing meditation, taking a moment to stop whatever I'm doing & giving myself a break from reality (or other relaxing strategies you come up with). Some deep breathing exercises may be beneficial as well. Also, from a dietary standpoint, I'd find ways to cut back on sodium, heavily processed foods and any artificial ingredi...
My primary care Dr. was giving me Amlodipine for high blood pressure. It was working well along with Lisinopril to keep my blood pressure in check but my legs and ankles began to swell so she took me off of the Amlodipine as leg/ankle swelling are a side effect. Then I was admitted into the hospital and the Dr. there gave me Metoprolol. Now my legs are swelling again and if I am correct in what I am finding Amlodipine and Metoprolol are the same thing? ## Hello Anne, The NIH reports that metoprolol is abeta1-selective(cardioselective) adrenoceptor blocking agent and that amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker. While both of these medications have different active and inactive ingredients and are different types of blockers they both list ankle swelling as a potential side effect. The r...

A friend of mine got some slimming pills called Reduce 15 mg that he bought in Thailand. They are not allowed in the country where I live, so I can't consult my doctor. I'm healthy but I have suffered from stress due to too much work, and have been medicated for that a couple of times, though not currently. I'm not fat, but I have gained 20 kg due to stress. Do you know which secondary efects these pills could have or if I should take them at all? ## From what I can find, Reduce contains the active ingredient Subutramine, which has been pulled from the market in many countries, due to the severe dangers associated with it. It can cause cardiac related dangers, such as: accelerate heart rate, trouble breathing, elevated pulse and elevated blood pressure. There have been some ...
