I ended my period the 16th of December and I had unprotected sex the 20th. he used the withdrawal method and I started my new birth control a day or two after. I took them at exactly the same time each day and now I'm two days in on my placebo week and haven't had my period yet. Is it possible I'm pregnant? I've also been very stressed could that delay my period also?
Updated in Previfemi started my first pack on the first day of my period on the 18th and though my period usually only lasts about 4 days, i've been lightly albeit consistently bleeding ever since. it's now 10 days later and i'm going nuts. my boyfriend is coming back from traveling for over a year next week and i'd really like to not be still spotting gross brown discharge when he gets here. will it stop or am i doomed to 3 months of this? ## Hello, Emz! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having. This doesn't mean that it will continue for all 3 months, but it is possible. Have you contacted your doctor? You might want to do so, just to be sure and to see what they say you should do. ## I started taking loloestrin 10 mcg on 12/1/14, had no bleeding for a week and the...
Ive been on Jadelle since November 2013 and had episodes of bleeding non stop which was later controlled by Norethestrone, after that was sorted i had a fungal infection and the GP said i had an infection in my uterus and i was given some antibiotics but the itching never stopped. it later just stopped on its own as soon as it stopped i also stopped breastfeeding my son who was now 15months old. a week later i started feeling nauseous but nothing serious and i was advised by a nurse from our local clinic that it was just the hormones that have an imbalance and it would normalize. just last night i started having a running stomach which i never have unless im pregnant. Im worrid sick could i be pregnant again?
Updated in JadelleI forgot the last week weeks of pills and according to instruction I have to restart taking a new pack and discard those remaining last two weeks of pill ( which I did ). A day after missing my pill, I got my period ( like normal and on schedule ) I restarted taking the Lo Loestrin Fe back 2 weeks after being off it. Then my period started again 20 days after the last day of my period. It was light ( like my last period ). But the problem or concern I have now is that I got the period for a week, then it stopped for 2 days, then came back for another 2 days ( also light that it is ok to just wear pantiliner ) then after that it stopped for another 2 days, now its back again and I am having little cramps like I am having period. Is this normal? ## Yes, that can happen, if you miss pills ...
I just got off of my period & I'm ready to start a new pack. My pharmacy switched me to Tri-Previfem and I don't know which pill to take or which week to start with without starting my period again. Can someone please explain how I start this new pack and which week is which? ## Hello, Farrah! How are you? I'm sorry about the confusion and am happy to clear this up for you. According to the manufacturers website, you should start with the first pill of week one and then continue as your normally would. The FDA lists the side effects for oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and PMS like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?
If I have started the pill on the first day of my current period, how long do I have to take the pill in order for it to protect me against pregnancy without using a condom? ## Hello, Moria! How are you? If started on the first day of your period, it is effective immediately, according to the FDA information, because it should prevent ovulation from occurring this cycle. Typical side effects to oral contraceptives are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and PMS like symptoms. Updated in JadelleOne side has a "P" Other side has a "O-M" or "W-O" Small round pink pill ## My finding does not pose an exact match to your description, but represents the closest match I could find using the imprint "P O-M" (no results came up with O-W). The imprint P O-M is identified as "Ortho tri-cyclen lo inert". The active ingredients in this pill are ethinyl estradiol + norgestimate, which are used to treat birth control. NOTE: this pill is actually identified as being green; but it is important to know that the way a pill looks is entirely up to the whit and whim of the company making it, and therefore the color of the pill doesn't always match up with the finding. I am finishing my 3rd pack of Tri Sprintec and I notice today, when I should be on my period, I am having light bleeding. Before I was on Sprintec my period started on the 4th white pill in the morning. Since I began Tri Sprintec it starts in the afternoon. I am only bleeding lightly today. Could I be pregnant or is my body still adjusting to the new pills? I haven't missed a pill at all. ## Hi ayla, From what I could gather, irregular bleeding and/or menstrual periods (relative to the time frame that you're used to experiencing such symptoms) are reported to be general side effects of Norgestimate + Ethinyl Estradiol - the two key components in Tri Sprintec. So if you haven't missed any pills at all, my opinion is that you probably don't need to be too concerned about t...
Does sunolut pills prevent pregnancy?I did consume due to doc's prescription for my irregular menses.I want to query also is it possible to get pregnant although consuming it regularly??? ## Sunolut is an oral contraceptive tablet, so it is used to prevent pregnancy, but to be effective at doing so, you do have it to take it every day, at the same time of the day, without missing any doses. If you start it on the first day of your menstrual cycle, it is immediately effective against pregnancy, however, if you start it at any other time, it must be taken for at least 7 days, before it is effective. How long have you been taking it? ## thank you for the reply. starting consume from last month but not able to remember the date.so sorry..but i did not consume it regularly in term of tim...

I took my birth control pill on the 18th of December (first time ever) I only took two of them bcus they made me throw up and feel really sick... Now on the 28th of December I'm having g bright red blood (spotting) any idea what's going on?,could I be pregnant? ## Hello, Brittany! How are you? If you didn't start them the first or second day of your period, but engaged in intercourse on the days you did start them, then yes, there is a risk of pregnancy, because they take 7 days to become effective if you start them at any other time, as listed in the FDA medication information. However, since these are hormonal based contraceptives, it is most likely that taking a couple, then stoppi...

I live in a remote pacific island and the only thing close to Noriday avalible through my local pharmacy is Primolut. Can I take Primolut for a month while I wait for Noriday to be mailed over? I need it to prevent my period as I get migraines when I get my period and also to act as contraceptive. ## Hello, MK! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Yes, those both are listed by MIMs as containing the same active ingredient, Norethisterone, which is a hormone. Typical side effects may include nausea, headache, dizziness, irritability and PMS like symptoms. Thus, if the dosages are the same and your doctor approves, there should be no prob...

I recently skipped the white sugar pills while taking tri-sprintec, and I've been spotting for about two weeks now. Is there anyway to stop the bleeding? ## Hello, Emma! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. No, there is really no way to stop the spotting. Things will eventually get back on track and balance back out, most likely after your next period. Your body is expecting that break every month that allows a period to happen and by skipping that week, you've thrown your hormonal balance off. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain, breakthrough bleeding and PMS like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## emma the sugar pills are just...
Hello! I've been taking Microgestin FE (Loestrin FE) birth control for 6 months, religiously. I also keep track of my periods with 2 different apps on my phone. My pills are white, and the last week of them is brown. The last few months (maybe 3) my cycle is almost spot on with my phone app, but my cycle is not on the week of my brown pills, its usually during the last week of my white pills. Well this month I am 2 days late according to my app on my phone. However, I still have 2 white pills left until i start my brown pills. I know usually you should be on your cycle during the last week of your pills. I also know my particular type of BC can take away your period. I have no signs of PMS, and I usually PMS pretty badly. Last week i had sore nipples, now I have lightly tender breas...
I started the pill 4 days after my period started. I started on a Monday. I been on it for 5 days. How long does it take to work due to the fact that I didn't take it on the first day of my period? What are my chances of getting pregnant? ## Hello, Dezi! How are you? It needs to be taken for a full 7 days, to reach its full level of effectiveness in the body, according to the FDA guidelines on oral contraceptives. So, you'd need to use some additional form of protection, until the 8th day of taking active pills, otherwise, you risk pregnancy. Typical side effects are listed as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain and PMS like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

It is a very tiny periwinkle blue in color and is plain on side with aC3 on the other. ## Hello, Malinda! How are you? According to the identification databases, this is listed as being a tablet from a Tri-Linyah oral contraceptive pack. It is used to prevent pregnancy and to treat some feminine hormonal related issues. Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?
I've been on lomedia 24 fe for 4 months now,I just finished the first week of my white pills in my 4th pill pack. I had my period 10 days ago for one and a half days while I was on the second day of the brown pills. The past couple of days my breasts have been really sore. Is this a normal effect of the birth control? I highly doubt its a pregnancy thing because I take my pills at 11:30 pm every night,I never have missed a pill. Just a wondering if it's normal for me to have sore breasts even though I've been on this pill for a good 3 months and 7 days. Oh and I also have irregular bleeding from time to time. Advice?? ## Hello, Kat234! How are you? I'm sorry about the issue that you're having. But yes, those are listed as possible side effects of oral contraceptives ...
