How long will my cycle be on? I'm on week 2 of my bc pack. ## Hello, Renay! How are you? Yes, that can happen, when you are new to taking oral contraceptives. As listed by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, headache, dizziness and weight changes. Since you started 2 days before your period was due, rather than the day your period started, you've likely thrown off your hormonal balance and it will likely take awhile for this to settle back down. However, if the cramping gets too severe and the bleeding too heavy, you should consult your doctor as this may not be the righ...
I had my Jadelle taken out a week ago tomorrow and I can still feel something in my arm. Like it feels like the rod is still in there (I seen her take both of them out though)I'm just wondering if it's just the casing that grew around the rods when they were in. Has anyone else had this issue? ## I had exactly the same for about 2 and a half weeks after and was very very sore but has calmed down now though and is back to normal. (Have had out for 2months)

Updated in NordetteHey what are the chances of becoming pregnant when u r using doxytet while on birth control ## Hello, Katalia! How are you? Yes, the NHS does list it as a possibility that this antibiotic may reduce the efficacy of oral contraceptives and a backup method of protection should be used. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?
I get nauseous when using hrt. Been on Angeliq for months and now nausea is starting again. Can i take Angeliq on alternate days to relieve nausea or is it unsafe to do that? ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? No, it wouldn't be unsafe, so you can do that, as long as your doctor approves. Other side effects may include dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?
Hi, This is my first time taking birth control period. I started the pack on the 21st of last month. I finished the brown pills & started the new pack a few days ago. Was I supposed to wait for my period to come before starting the new pack? Or am I ok? ## Hello, Whit! How are you? No, you are fine, you are supposed to continue to the new pack, regardless of whether or not you have a period. Some women don't have them, while taking oral contraceptives. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?
Hello, I am happy to find this site that can help me to answer my question. I am 19 years old, I have a boyfriend. Tonight, I am sick and its already 2 days since I had my last red day. I take the pills before I go to bed so there is time intervention between my medicine and pills. Now, my real concern is I have a polycystic cyst in my left breast and there are three. I didn't go through any operation because the doctor didn't suggest it. It is my first time to take pills, I am taking lady pills from trust. And I am afraid that it can harm me in my medical condition and I don't want to gain more weight because I am already over weight. Please tell me if I can stop taking the pills since it is the first time that I took it? We made love before I took up the pills. Isn't i...
UpdatedI have been on lo lo estrin for over a year. I usually don't have periods but every now and then I get one. I had a short one about two weeks ago and today I seem to have started again. no missed pills. same time every day. advice? is this normal? ## Hello, Jordyn! How are you? That can happen, usually due to a fluctuation in your natural hormones in conjunction with the ones in the oral contraceptives, however, it would be best to have it checked out to be sure. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight changes and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with?
I am 18 years old i have 2 kids i got the jadella in when my son was 5 days old to prevent getting pregnant an now my son is 3 an a half months old iv put on heaps of weight feel bloated all the time an im always getting my period can some one help me out with what to do i really want to take the jadella out but i dont want to get pregnant 2 kids is enough ## This type of information is probably best answered by your gynecologist, who can make a more informed decision on what other type(s) of birth control might suit you best. I would just keep in mind though that pretty much all oral contraceptives can cause weight gain and feeling bloated as side effects. So there's no way to really know ahead of time how one might end up affecting you. It seems to be more of a trial and error sor...
I was taking lo loestrin 24 fe for almost 2 years and it was switched to minastrin 24 fe, so I have been taking the new version of it for 4 months now. it's chewable so I chew it everyday at the same time. but it says to take it with a glass of water and I don't do that. I just chew it and take a sip of water. is it still effective if I don't drink the 8oz glass of water after it? ## Hello, Kayla! How are you? Yes, that won't alter its efficacy, but you should drink the water to aid your own digestive system. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## yes, If I've been taking it for about 4 months with little or no per...
So i have had the jadelle in for just over two years and have not got my period the whole tim ei have been in it, then all of a sudden i have a really light period this afternoon with no warning, nothing. I this normal? Or has anyone else experienced this?? I'm not sure what to do; whether it's normal or not? ## This happened to me! After two years of nothing I got a random light period and then no period again. But fast forward to a couple months later and I have been getting heavy periods almost every day for the past few months :( hopefully this doesn't happen to you
My daughter is on her first batch of the generic and in her 3rd week of the pills and she is now vomiting every night and cramping. We took her to the doctor today to rule out any sort of flu or viral bug. She did NOT have this reaction with the TriNessa. Is there a different mix of drugs or make-up of the pill in the generic brand that may be causing this? She is now taking Glenmark (with a National Drug Code of 68462-565-29) Norgestimate and Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets. She takes them at bedtime and then wakes up around midnight with cramps and vomiting. ## Hello, June! How is your daughter doing? It sounds like there is something about the generic that doesn't agree with her, the inactive ingredients may be different than the ones that were in the name brand. Has she informed her d...
Okay, I Have been on birth control (lo loestrin) for almost 9 months And for the first couple months I got no period then it began and I started having regular periods during my placebo week. I am NOT GOOD AT ALL at taking them on time and last month I skipped like four pills (two at a time) by accident and this month my period was due on the 23rd of September and it hasn't come but I had really extremely light spotting the week before my period was due for like 3 days it started off aloft Le brown then it was pinkish then it was gone. I'm now 7 or 8 days late for my period and have had really weird symptoms. I haven't taken my birth control for 4 days because if I'm pregnant I don't want to harm the baby. Could I be pregnant? I've taken 5 tests and they are all ...
I started taking sprintec on October 21st, my cycle waa due on the 24th. It didn't come. Usually I'm a normal blender for 2 days, then very light the last 2. I stopped taking sprintec and my cycle came on Nov 2. I have been bleeding like a slaughtered pig, with clots for 5 days.....having to change every hour. What is going on? ## Hello, Kay! How are you? The hormone in the oral contraceptive can affect your cycle, it may be heavier or longer than normal. Did you stop taking it altogether or do you just mean you stopped for the placebo week? The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. With the clotting, you should consult your doctor, because that's usually due to your estrogen being too ...
I am 19 been on sprinter for 5 months now. I recently tried to skip my period by not taking the white pills. It's been two weeks and I'm still bleeding. It's light but I was just wondering if it's normal? I still have a little pain like cramps but is not that bad. So I don't know if I should contact my doctor?! ## Hello, Gabriela! How are you? Yes, that can be normal, when you try to skip, it doesn't always work and the disruption of the hormonal balance can cause you to bleed longer than usual. It's generally not something to be concerned about, unless your doctor feels otherwise. The FDA lists other typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for 3 months now. I had irregular spotting for the first 2 months, and probably because I was fairly bad about taking the pill at the same time every day, and missed a couple days. But this past month I have been very consistent in taking it every single day at around the same time. Despite this, I have not had any bleeding or spotting during the iron pill days....is this normal? I feel as if my body is just finally adjusted to the pill, but should I be concerned? I'm highly stressed out about this, and I took a test this morning, but it came up "invalid" though I'm pretty sure I did everything correct with it. Any help or advice would be great! I'm not in the same town as my gyno since I'm on summer break, but I just need answers! #...

Is there anything else I can help with?
I got jadelle put on about 6 months ago and I still haven't had period. And I had very light bleeding for a few day a couple of weeks after it was inserted but that's it. I rang my doctor about in the first month and she said it was normal but i still haven't got it. Do I need to go see her or is this normal? ## Hello, Jemma! How are you? Some women don't have their periods at all while using Jadelle! If your doctor doesn't see a reason to worry, then you should likely just relax, but if seeing her or calling again would make you feel better, then yes, you should definitely do so. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Dear Jemma, with certain birth control, sometimes your period can b light and sometimes u may not get it at all. Your Dr told u this was normal, u...
