My girl friend is addicted to contraceptive pill and i want have baby. Is there any tablet i can take against her pills as she don't want to get off it? ## Hello, Georges! How are you? No, it would be unethical and a violation of her rights to do that, anyway. She can't be addicted to contraceptives, they aren't habit forming. If she wanted to have a child, she'd just need to stop them for a few months. The best thing to do, would be to just sit down and discuss your wishes with her to find out what you both want out of this relationship. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi I'm Mona can you help me to have a baby. What medicine should i take.

I have never taken birth control before and my doctor told me to take sprintec after my period started.I needed it sooner so I took it a week before my period started. Is this okay or will I stop the process from working right? ## Hello, Meagan! How are you? According to NIH instructions, if you start them, when you are not on the first or second day of your period, it will take 7 days for them to become effective at preventing pregnancy, so a backup method of contraception should be used, until the 8th day. If you start them the first or second day of your period, they are immediately effective at prevent pregnancy. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, spotting, and PMS-like symptoms. Thus, if you had intercourse, befor...

My daughter is 15 and has Down Syndrome. She has been on Minastrin 24 FE for a year to control her heavy bleeding. The doctor started her on these and told us to only give her the white pills everyday skipping the brown pills. That this would stop her cycles. She has not had any monthly cycle nor breakthrough bleeding. She developed signs of a UTI and yeast infection 12 days ago and was put on an antibiotic and a single dose yeast pill. She started spotting two days later today is da ten of that spotting. I plan to call the dr Monday if it hasn't stopped. Has this happened before to anyone? ## Hello, Debbie! How is your daughter doing? Has there been any change? Many antibiotics can lower the efficacy of oral contraceptives, which may result in spotting, or a full on period, accordi...

Hi? I've had Jadelle for almost 5 years now and I have still not have my period since! I have been loosing so much weight an I have really bad breakout on my face and I am to embarrassed to see a GP. Should I get it removed or is this normal?? ## Hello, Saffa! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. The acne and lack of a period can be normal side effects of it, as listed by the FDA, you may also experience headache, dizziness, irritability, mood swings and PMS-like symptoms. However, the weight loss is not normal and you need to see your doctor to have it checked out. I understand your embarrassment, but there's no need to feel that way. Doctor's are used to dealing with these types of issues and the are trained to handle them in a professional...

Im trying to push back starting my period by one week bc I will have it on my honeymoon ?? - I currently take tri-previfem. If I delay starting my new pack by a week (after having a period) will this work? ## Hi Olivia, Congrats on getting married! My best wishes for your honeymoon... From what I understand it is possible to pre or postpone one's menstrual cycle with the use of hormonal contraceptives. However there are certain ways to do this with different brands/generics and forms of treatment. This is not to say that your method may or may not work, but because there is a diverse range of applications to achieve this, I think it would probably be best to work closely with your prescribing doctor in order to ensure that dosing and administration timing are done properly for your ...

Hi...I'm 21 years old and have been ttc since 2012!this is my second day of taking oralcon pills, the doctor told me it could help with finally conceiving...anyone have any thoughts on this?I hve had tests done and it showed I am ovulating every month!I have a 3month supply of these pills ## Contraceptives are not going to help you conceive, they prevent pregnancy. You won't get pregnant while taking these. Your doctor may have given them to you in hopes that suppressing ovulation for a few months may increase the chances of your getting pregnant, once you're done taking them and you ovulate, again. Is there anything else I can help with? ## That's my thoughts as well!My grandmother took 4 years to fall pregnant with her and but my mom had no problems at all do u think it...

My last period was august 13th. It is now oct 10th. I had unprotected sex on aug 26th and took the pill within hours after it happened. I have yet to have a period since taking this pill. About a week after sex i had a morning where i woke up with small spotting but nothing since. It doesn't even feel like it's coming. I took pregnancy tests and it was negative. I went to my doctor three weeks after the incident and had blood work done. It was thankfully negative as was a pelvic ultrasound (though the lady who did it told me it would be too early to see anything on the ultra sound anyways). My period should have come a few days ago and there is still nothing. How long is kinda normal to not have a period after taking plan b? The package says i should have had it a week early or ...

I have been taking the pill for 6 months and have noticed my period is better during certain months, but crazy the following month. I have also not had a normal color. Often been brown and clotty. Does this pill change the color and delay? I have been getting my period on days that are not the sugar pill. Also been receiving PMS symptoms for up to two week straight before bleeding. If my period is not syncing with the pill cycle, is it still working correctly? ## Hello, Keia! How are you? As to the color, brown blood is old blood, that blood that has been sitting in your uterus from your last period that wasn't expelled. It is normal and nothing to worry about. The clots are usually due to elevated estrogen levels, according to the NIH, since taking oral contraceptives changes your ...

I had my period finished past 9 days and had unprotected intercourse with my husband and took Diane 35 within 18 hours. Will that make me pregnant? I stopped taking Diane for almost a year now and started taking it for birth control supposedly. I have the effects of bloated stomach, feeling of vomiting and lower abdominal cramps.. Assistance, please. Thanking you in advance. ## Yes, there is a chance that you may be pregnant, especially if you didn't take a proper dose of this medication as an emergency contraceptive. If you just took one tablet, it will not prevent pregnancy after the fact. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and spotting. Have you checked for pregnancy, yet?

I was taking the injection and I stopped about two months within the two month im on my third cycle and it won't stop and also it goes on for about 6 days ## Hello, Santina! How are you? Your period can last anywhere from 2 to 10 days, so 6 days is not unusual and nothing to worry about. As to being on your third cycle in 2 months, that can also be normal, depending on the lengths of each month, stopping the contraceptive may also contribute to the issue, according to the NIH. Has anything changed? Are you on any other medications?

I am 20 year old my period use to come not monthly but it skips month then it stop coming....I haven seen my period for a year now and I would like to get pregnant ...am using oralcon f hormonal contraceptive... Will this help me ## You will not be able to get pregnant while taking a contraceptive, however, it can help regulate your natural hormones to increase your chances of getting pregnant, in the future, when you stop taking it, according to the NIH. How long have you been taking the Oralcon?

Well I had my jadelle in my arm for a year and 6/7 months and got it taken out a month ago or so.. I was just wondering how long does the bloating and side affects go away after it's been removed... I've had headaches back pains, bloating, going toilet a lot sore boobs and everything.. I checked to see If I was hapu but it came up negative... idk if it's normal or my bodies just recovering from having it in my arm for that long... and the date today is 16/10/16 and still having side effect.. ## It can take awhile for your body to balance your hormones back out on its own and for things to improve, according to the NIH. What you're experiencing are all normal withdrawal effects, according to the U.S. FDA. Additionally, you can also experience such symptoms naturally, from...

I have been taking Minestrin 24 for over a year now with a regular period, however this last month - I have not had period only spotted a tiny bit, however, I have intense cramping - is this normal. ## Hello, Kathy! How are you? Those can be normal side effects of this medication, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and irritability. It is usually nothing to worry about, unless your doctor sees a reason to be concerned. Some women stop having periods, entirely, while taking oral contraceptives. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I was in loestrin 24 starting in October 2011 until the switch had to be made to minastrin and have been taking that ever since. Many times I have very light periods where no tampon is needed ever and I wear a p...

I have been taking antibiotics without realizing they can affect the effectiveness of my sprintec birth control. I haven't taken an active pill in 4 days and I have no signs of my period as of yet. Is there a possibility of pregnancy? ## Hello, Holly! How are you? What antibiotic were you taking? According to the NIH, not all of them reduce the efficacy of oral contraceptives. As to being late, the FDA does warn that most antibiotics can lengthen your menstrual cycle, so you may start later than normal. I've learned to just expect it any time I have to take one. However, if you are concerned about pregnancy, there is no harm in checking to be sure.

Hi have the arm birth control implant- Nexplanon I've had it for about 2years now my question is, is it normal to be hallucinating, or hearing things that aren't really going on? Example -I'll be sleeping in bed and i believe that i hear my son crying and every time i get up to see if he's ok, he's sleeping, it goes on for hours, or i start thinking someone is in my house and start having a panic attack because i believe I'm hearing -seeing things that aren't really happening, I'm not sure if it's because lack of sleep or if it could possibly be a side effect. ## Hello, Kels! How are you? No, the psychological side effects are listed by the FDA as possibly including emotional lability and depression, so what you're experiencing is very unusual. Ar...

I found two small off white or pale yellow pills. They are round with beveled edges and scored in half on one side. The other side is imprinted with a hexagon but, it's empty. There are no other markings at all. ## The Hexagon imprint is usually used on Yaz birth control tablets, which would explain why they are small. They usually have the letters DS in the hexagon, though. It is possible, however, that this could be a generic or from a foreign source. Was it found in the U.S.? ## Yeah, I live in Florida and haven't gone outside of my city lately... And I am certain that save secret espionage, none of my friends or family have been outside of 50 miles recently. Thanks for the info though you're probably right. ## LOL! Well, I had to ask, we do get a lot of posts from people...

Hello, I am concerned I am ovulating and the pill is not working. I took plan b 20 hrs after the condom failed. It is possible I was ovulating. Now 3 days later I feel the twinge of ovulation, that dull ache in my lower stomach. Also my cervical mucus has changed like ovulation. I'm very worried that the pill is not working? Thoughts? ## Hello, Kos! How are you? Has there been any change? Plan B is very effective if taken within the first 24 hours, though there is always a small risk that it won't work. The symptoms you described can be typical side effects of taking it, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, headache, and spotting, however yes, they could also be signs of ovulation. If you don't start your period when you should, it would be best to have ...

Is taking. Angeliq okay if I'm still having periods? I just turned 50 this year.....didn't get insomnia or night sweats until I started taking this ## Hello, Tracey! How are you? What are you taking it? It isn't necessary, if you're not having symptoms. Insomnia, night sweats, irritability, headache, and spotting can be normal side effects of this medication, according to the FDA.

I want to enjoy my summer! We usually have a pool party on my birthday. And I'm also usually on my period. Can I use hormonal contraceptives to skip my cycle? What exactly do the white and brown pills do? When I skip does it make it less effective? ## Hello Candice! How are you? First off, I'd like to let you know that if you use tampons, or a menstrual cup, you can still swim, while on your period. There is no harm in it. As to the pills, if your doctor approves, in order to skip, you'd need to continue that active tablets and skip taking the inactive ones. Which oral contraceptive do you take? The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding, weight gain and PMS like symptoms. ## The brown pills a...
