I am worried because my breasts are big and itchy. Could I be pregnant? ## Hello, Mau! How are you? If you've had intercourse during the past 3 months, without using some form of protection to protect against pregnancy, then yes, there is a chance you may be expecting. However, when coming off of such a contraceptive, it can also be normal to experience irregularities for several months, while your body readjusts your natural hormones. As listed by the FDA, you may also experience headaches, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Have you had yourself checked for pregnancy? ## Hi, i was using nur-istrate from february 2015 until september 2016. I had unprotected intercourse a...
I am going on a trip in a month and do NOT want to have my period while I during it. However that is the week I will be taking the placebo pills and having my period. I have been taking sprintec for one month and have had no side effects at all. I never miss a pill and take them at the same time everyday. I know I can try to skip my period by starting the next pack immediately but I also know it might not work. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who have had no side effects from the pill and who have successfully skipped their period for 1 month with no breakthrough bleeding or spotting during the week that they skipped. Thank you all in advance! ## Hello, Kate! How are you? Yes, there are many women who have done so, including myself when I used to be on an oral contraceptive...
This is my third month taking sprintec. I completely overlooked taking the pill last Saturday and didn't realize until today when I took the pack out of the holder entirely. I've taken every pill at the same time except for last Saturday's. I therefore took two today. Should I be worried that skipping a pill and catching up today caused ovulation? ## Yes, there is a risk of that, though only a slight one. You can use backup protection for the next 7 days, until you've made sure to take a pill each day, without missing any, so you'd be sure they are preventing ovulation, again. Otherwise, the only thing you can really do is wait and see if you start your period, when it's due. Oral OCs may also cause side effects, such as irregular bleeding, headache, irritability...
I've been on sprintec for two years nowand have always been regular to the day to get my period except when had my son eight years ago. I'm now going on two cycles with no period and am worried. I forgot to take the pill at the same time for a few days. I've taken a test a week after I missed and it came back negative however with my son I had to take seven tests within three months before I got a positive result even though I was pregnant that entire time. Any input? ## Hi Jacey, If it helps ease your concerns, irregular and/or missed periods are actually listed as common side effects for most types of oral contraceptives. I don't have a complete answer as to why that is, but it's probably due to the fluctuation of hormones during the time that you have to take a ce...
Hi I take tri-previfem and i had stopped taking it for a month because i forgot to take my pill, i tried to double up pills to get back on schedule but instead got my period early and then i had breakthrough bleeding for a little less than two weeks after that. i have been off of the pill for a little over a month now due to the mess up and just got my period yesterday 10/28, this is the heaviest period ive ever had since my very first time having a period. i have a huge weekend starting tomorrow at the beach and id like to skip this period. The Tri-previfem has different dosage of hormones for each week. Should i start a new pack like normal today to try to skip this period? if i start with the second week pill which has a higher dosage of hormones will this increase the % of stopping ...
lo loestrin fe missed 1 blue pill and took the next blue pill at night when I usually take them in the morn. What do I do now? ## Hello, Ck! How are you? You should take your next dose at the regular time. You generally have a window of about 24 hours, before it's actually considered a missed pill, so you should be fine to just continue as normal, unless your doctor specifics otherwise. The FDA lists typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and PMS like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I missed one blue pill once in my last two packs. Both times I doubled up on the pill to catch up as per the instruction sheet. Is it a problem that this has happened two packs in a row?
i have used a contraceptive needle for the first time in my life and started bleeding for a month but my doctor told me its my hormones and it totally normal to bleed, but I was worried and decided to buy fragile and suddenly I have stopped bleeding. How possible is this? ## Hello, Seeyanda! How are you? It is possible that the Fragile was just enough to rebalance your hormones and stop the breakthrough bleeding, though your doctor was right and it was nothing to worry about. It is just do to your hormonal balance changing and your body getting used to it. Is there anything else I can help with? ## What are fragile tablets or what's the other name for fragile!

If my jadelle has expired two weeks ago and it is still in my arm, can I get pregnant if I have unprotected sex with my husband? ## I've been using jadelle now for 5 yrs and it's going to expire next month, but the problem I'm having this month is that my period was lighter than the past month. Can I be pregnant? How long does it take to be pregnant after it expires? ## Will one be able to get pregnant if the jadelle implant expired last year, but was still left in the body? I am trying to get pregnant and don't know if it will be possible for me to fall pregnant due to the expired jadelle.
I need an answers kasi kinakabahan ako. My boyfriend and I had an intercourse but with condom. Unexpectedly, the condom broke when he's about to cum. Pareho naming hindi alam na nabutas yung condom, nakita nalang namin nung pinull out na niya. I just finished my menstruation last August 24 (started on 18) and I believe that I am fertile when we did the deed (Aug. 27). I took 4 Nordette, 2-3 hours after the deed and took another 4 on the next 12 hours but I am not feeling any side effects, is this normal? Ang nababasa ko kasing mga nag take yung mga before reglahin. Please answer, thank you :((( ## Hi question lang, first time kasi namin ng bf ko. I took minastrin 24 fe for only 3 days because I was having heavy periods and my doctor told me these pills will help to stop the heavy bleeding. I took the pills on 8/5/16 but only then it completely stopped. Now this month September I'm one week late on my period. Does anyone know if this is normal? I'm not sure if I could be pregnant. ## Sorry I was taking* the minastrin 24 fe for only 3 days 2 tablets twice a day. ## Hello, Fatima! How are you? Have you had your period, yet? Taking hormonal medications, even if for a short period of time, can throw your normal cycle off and cause you to be late, as reported by NIH. As reported by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, headache, irritability, spotting and PMS like symptoms. If your period doesn't occur within 7 to 10 da...
I've been on birth control for about two years now. I recently quit taking Kariva due to the fact that it was causing my hair to fall out and crazy mood swings. I'm now on Sprintec, I have been on it before and both times I've noticed that I get slightly nauseous around dinner time after eating. Does anyone else get this? ## It can be a normal side effect. Have you discussed it with your doctor? When you take the pill, are you taking it on an empty stomach? It may help prevent the nausea if you make sure to take it with a small meal, like some milk and crackers, or when you sit down to eat. ## I have only been on Sprintec for a couple days now. And every night I take it at 10 pm. Right before I go to bed. But it makes me nauseous every time I take it. Last night was the wors...
From one month my period is going on and,my doctor gives me this novelon tablet for 21 days. But is it right to take because when I read ,it is a contraceptive pill. Then why it is prescribed by doctor to me. ## Novelon contains hormones which can help balance yours out to stop the bleeding, which is most commonly caused by a hormonal imbalance. You can take them, even if you are not married and actively engaging in intercourse. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?
I have started this pill after taking another pill earlier. I began on a Sunday, the first day of my period and took the pill marked for Sunday. Now, I know we should follow the arrows, but since some pills were there marked for swallowing before the day (Sunday), I wonder if we should take them after finishing the arrow route? I am confused and need urgent help please. The first pill marked was for Monday. So I think there are many before my first pill. Do I finish from Sunday until the end of the arrow and then start a new pack after that? Or do I finish the pills until the arrows end and then take the 6 pills before? ## The days marked on the package don't actually matter, you should just start the first day of the pack on whatever day is the first day of your period, if you'...
I have pcos and I'm taking dronis20 for my irregular periods.it was suggested by a gynocolgst..after taking this pill my period has become regular and on time.I'm marring soon.so I want to know from first day of my marriage can i continue dronis20 as a birth control pill for mating without protection?please answer... ## Yes, this medication is also an oral contraceptive. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?
I started taking this birth control in Sept 2016. It has been great taking this pill until I missed my period on the last week of Jan and I just took my last brown pill before starting a new pack and nothing. I have cramps, but i havent started. I've been active, but we use protection every time. Should I be concerned? ## There is never any harm in checking for pregnancy, if you're concerned, but it can be normal to skip periods while taking an oral contraceptive, according to NIH reports, some women stop experiencing periods altogether, while taking them. Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?
Hi, i've been on the triphasil pill for more than a year now. I'm currently finished with my white pill as of yesterday and started with the cream this morning but for the past 3 to 4 days I had bleeding; not bad like a pinkish color, but like spottings and then it's gone, then all of the sudden it's back. What can it be? ## That can be a normal side effect of oral contraceptives, especially if you are under stress, not sleeping well, or your own natural hormones have fluctuated and is generally nothing to worry about, unless your doctor thinks there is reason for concern. Other side effects, as listed by the U.S. FDA may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Nagtatake ng pills number ...
I started the pill on a Sunday, three days before my expected period. I didn't get my period. I'm already on the sugar pills this week and I still haven't gotten my period. Did that mess with my cycle? I have not had unprotected sex. I even took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. Should I be worried?
Updated in EstaryllaHi I was using Depo since i gave birth in March last year. This is my 2nd month of using Oralcon and thus have just had my 2nd 'withdrawal bleed'..thing is ive been having the bleed for 6days now and usually they would last max 4days. Moreover i have a constant period pain/uncomfortableness on my abdomen..is this normal from Oralcon? ## Yes, those can be normal side effects, when taking an oral contraceptive according to NIH reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, spotting, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms. Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications?
I've been taking Lo Loestrin for 3 months and i just started my 4th pack. I haven't have any weird side effects besides minor bleeding in between periods. But on my last pack i took the 2 white pills to start my cycle, and i had some spotting on fri & sat as if it was gonna come.... but forgot to take the 2 brown pills and my period just stopped and has not come down. Whats going on?? ## These are hormonal based contraceptives, so skipping your period, or only having a very light one can be a normal side effect of them. However, if you have concerns, you should contact your doctor to ask them. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Hi, I am 27. My period is missing for 7 months now. Doctor told me it's ok up to 6 months after Mercilon contraception pills. I've...
