I am currently taking Tri Sprintec but currently ran out of refills. I was suppose to start my new pack sunday night but didn't get them until today which is wednesday. Should I start the new pack now or just wait until this sunday coming up to take them? ## You can start them, at any time, but it will take a week of taking the active pills, before they are effective at preventing pregnancy, so in the meantime, you should use a backup method of contraception. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, breakthrough bleeding, mood swings, and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello, i take tri-previfem. I have for a while now but last month I accidentally skipped my placibo pills and went straight to a new active pack. I skipped my period and now I'm on the sugar pills of this pack of birth control. I was just wondering if anyone knew how I could calculate when my period may start. I know for a fact I can't be pregnant but does anyone have any ideas that could help me? ## Hello, PandySue! How are you? If you are taking the inactive tablets now, then your period should start within a day or two of taking them. When taking OCs, your period is actually caused by withdrawal of the hormones, which is why you skipped it last month. If it doesn't start, then your hormonal balance may be off and you may need to check in with your doctor. Is there anythin...

I need help please!! ## Yes, spotting and irregular bleeding can be normal side effects of this hormonal contraceptive, according to the NIH, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and PMS-like symptoms. I'm on my first day of taking Althea pills. So far I haven't experienced any symptoms like nausea and migraine. How long would it take before I experience any of these? Hopefully I won't experience the bad side effects. Also, does taking pills shorten the duration of periods? I typically have mine up to 7 days and took the pill exactly on the first day of my period. ## It may take a few weeks for any possible side effects to manifest, according to NIH reports. They may also include mood swings, spotting, and PMS-like symptoms. Yes, that can sometimes shorten the length of your period, some women even stop having periods entirely, while taking oral contraceptives. Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications?

Hi. I've been using oralcon for a while now, I have missed it for 3 days and had intercourse on the first day I've missed it. I again started taking it after the third day of missing it and now I seem to be having my periods or just spotting. Could I be pregnant and is this normal? ## Hello, Walles! How are you doing? Yes, if you miss several tablets in a row, it is normal to spot or experience a full menstrual flow. That's actually how your period is induced, when you're taking hormonal contraceptives, it's a withdrawal bleed, the week of pills when you have your period have no active ingredients. And yes, it you missed several in a row and had intercourse, then there is a chance you could be pregnant. If you want to restart them now, you'll need to check to mak...
I typically take Sprintec around 830 PM. I took my pill last night and took my next pill today at 230 PM because I want to change the time that I take it. Since this first time that I am wanting to change is within the 24 hours how do I change it so I can take it in the morning, changing the time yet again. I hope this makes sense, but I changed the time now once and I want to change it to about 7 AM now so how and when do i change this? ## Yes, it should be just fine to change it, again, as long you don't entirely miss taking one. Just be aware that due to taking them closer together, you may experience more side effects, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and ...

I wonder whats the brown spotting from is it anything that do with pregnancy? ## Hello, Din! How are you? That may have been your period, it might have just been very light. If you didn't get a positive, then it most likely had nothing to do with pregnancy. However, if you're concerned, you should consult a doctor to have things checked out. Updated in NordetteI took my Sunday white pill yesterday, skipping my placebo I was supposed to take, what do I do? ## HI, Annie! How are you? There's really nothing to worry about here, it will really just alter your cycle by a day for the new month of taking them, but you'll still be protected against pregnancy. Unless your doctor instructs you otherwise, you should just toss that placebo pill and continue with the active ones. ## I'm on lo loestrin fe. I was intimate in Saturday, my last week of the pack was from Sunday onward. I accidentally took my 2 white pills a day early, on Tuesday I should've taken my last blue pill and accidentally took a white pill that day and Wednesday so today Thursday my last active pill day I had the last blue pill still remaining and took it since the whi...
Hi, I have been taking this birth control for about 5 months and I am intimately active with my husband. The other night I took a white pill instead of the blue pill because it is by the bed side and I didn't turn a light on like a dummy. I started something like a period the day after the missed pill, that's when I noticed I took the wrong one. The blood is very dark and been going on for about a week and 1/2. I only have 8 more blue pills left to take before I start the white one and go to the brown one. Is the dark blood a sign I'm pregnant? I've continued to take the pills every day and that was the first time I've missed a pill, well taken the wrong one. ## Hello, Danielle! How are you? When you're taking oral contraceptives, your period is actually a breakt...
