Best Medicine To Control Hypertension
UpdatedI was detected hypertension 2months ago.I did not have have symptoms and while checking my Blood Pressure it was detected.Lab investigations were normal exept slight raise in my Triglyceride.
When I consulted my Physician in the evening he has prescribed amilodopine Tab 2.5mg.
After taking the Tab the next morning I met the next Physician for 2nd opininon and to my surprise he said my B.P was normal yet asked me to continue the same.
But to my surprise the BP is not controlled in spite of gradually incresing the dose to 7.5mg.
Now it is around 150 to 160/85 to 90.
I do regular exercises in the morning for an hour and walking in the evening.Advise.

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that is commonly used to help lower high blood pressure.
All medications require some time to reach their full effectiveness. Most blood pressure medications take around 6 to 8 weeks to reach their full effect.
Thus, since you have only been using it for 2 months and your dosage has been adjusted, it really hasn't hit its full effectiveness level, yet.
In addition to that, on top of the exercise, you should also be watching your diet and monitoring your sodium intake. The recommended daily intake is no more than 2,400mgs and most people take in way more than that.
It will really take a combination of all 3, the medication, diet and exercise to help lower your blood pressure.

If your blood pressure doesn't start lowering within a few more weeks, then you may need to speak to your doctor about changing your medication. Not all of them work for everyone, so this just might not be the right one for you.
