Best Generic Alprazolam (xanax) (Page 3) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have been getting the 2mg Greenstones the last few years and they work much better than the Actavis. Now i read that greenstones were changed back in early 2014. Is it people that take these to feel high or people who really need them for anxiety and nothing else? Regardless if they have been changed they're still much better Actavis and I have heard mixed results on Sandoz. Dava seems to be crap. Took it once (looks to be from Endo who bought out Qualitest). Any opinions on the current state of the generic xanax manufactures? And lastly, no insurance company will give me the name brand. It's generic or nothing.
Re: Mason (# 43)
Auribindo and Mylan including Sandoz are all Novartis subsidiaries brother. Any one can g oogle it. You are right though they are from Swiss if your scroll down i apologized for my mistake of the area novartis is Swiss and under them is auriobindo, mylan, sandoz. No need to be trolling man. I know my info.
Re: Mason (# 43)
Your correct tho bindo is from India..but is a novartis subsidiary or was..maube it changed. MY BAD. Either way I can get the x 74s etc. I just don't like auribindo compared to US made..no need to be getting mad and finnin for some noise over a mistake. SORRY GUYS NOVARTIS IS SWISS..lol. I know my information brother and love to share my knowledge and apologized for my indirection as soon as I noticed non need to be trolling. Either way both do not even comoare to greenstones old and now back formulation or most us made. My mistake..lol. novartis has its hand in a lot of places my bad Swiss is right auriobindo is made for itself in India for the usa but is a subsidiary with novartis anyways GREENSTONE 10 SANDOZ 4. IMO
Re: Goozer (# 45)
I wasn't trying to troll you, just disagreeing and wondering where you got the info! To my knowledge, Aurobindo is not a subsidiary of Novartis. I did google it and I found where there was a lawsuit regarding Novartis V. Aurobindo... but I didn't see anywhere that one is a parent company of the other. Who knows though. It's hard to keep track of all these pharmas because they're always acquiring/buying other ones.
I'll stick with my Sandoz, you stick with your Greenstone... and hopefully we'll all live happily ever after! lol
I find that the aurobindo generic for alprazolam XR is awful, does absolutely nothing for me. The Greenstone is the generic I have to have and it works very well to eliminate any anxiety I have.
Re: Lisa (# 55)
Let me know what kind you're searching for other than brand and I can help you find a pharmacy that carries it.
Re: Goozer (# 27)
Hey, I can tell by your list you know the benzo quality well from experience. For e.g. trial & error perhaps. I was getting Dava for awhile and recently noticed the bottle smelt like glue. It's a mom and pop store. I only take 4-6mg a day 2mg bars. Green guys. But I switched to a new place tonight and the only choice was greenstone or dava. Again I left with the glue so I researched it and I'm reading and now convinced dava os terrible but it does what I take it for, relaxes me to go to sleep. A year ago I didn't feel this way. Now I cant wait to eat and sleep. Is dava that smells like glue bad and should I switch to greenstone? Thanks
Re: YellowKing (# 57)
To be honest with you I sometimes question having mine filled as requesting the green davas..honestly most benzos smell like glue. I have some 3mg greenstone saved and they smell like glue..that my friend is the good benzo smell..an acquired one. My top two favorite are the greenstone and dava but I still always pick greenstone...always...but I occasionally enjoy the dava generic. Both dava and greenstone come from the same wholesaler in the supply chain..meaning they are not so far from different. I want to try the qualitest kind but have not heard the best things about them. It is hard with dava because dava makes two bar formulations...one is shinny and coated and the other is not. I prefer the coated davas but they are hard to come by. Mom and pops stores get good generics but they still order cheap ones at wholesale price so remember what they dispense is saving and making them money. I request greenstone every month. Sometimes I want to switch to dava or qualitest but always stay true to greenstone. They (experience wise) are the most effective bars I have tried. I have not tried the Boca circles though or sandoz since they killed the market. I say try greenstone. Both are good choices with greenstone being just a bit better and lasting longer while davas are strong, make you sleepy and then fade quickly. Like I said I enjoy both but always pick greenstone.
Re: Dingle (# 67)
Greenstone went back to their great old formulation in June 2017. No worries there anymore yay.
Re: Lisa (# 62)
Did you get your brand and how was the process I signed up for the card haven't used it yet so many pharmacies think they don't even male brand name anymore lol. I had to tell a pharmacist and tech that ofcourse they make brand name xanax lol. I would love to hear if you got brand and how the process went for you.
Re: Goozer (# 71)
This is tough to answer because it's always a moving target. I've had good success with greenstone and sandoz. TEVA-USA is pretty good. Mylan has always sucked. I just tried a few days of Dava 1 mg. 3x a day, and they were knock out pills. Not really what I was looking for, but they do have an effect. Many things can affect a shipment too. If they get super hot in shipping they lose potency. It's a problem in summer. And yes, there is the plus, or minus 20% thing. I can't imagine any manufacturer going over the active ingredient threshold, but I'm sure they cut that 20% corner in the other direction. Pharmacists know that some generic are better than others. So if you want a certain brand, go in at least a week before your next fill, and request it. This happens all the time. If you have insurance cvs has good generics, and my store always bends over backwards. I've heard some bad reports on cvs, but I love them. A few days ago they were down to like 12 xanax pills, and said they were out. I told the tech it's pretty important, and she said oh I do have a few of these for a partial fill to get you by. Hence my experience with Dava.
Re: Benzosiveknown (# 72)
There is no teva alprazolam generic yet and if so which I do jot believe would be ODT ones but imo teva is just as bad as mylan when comes to benzos but they do kpins and vals only I believe here in US no teva alprazolam thank goodness because teva SUX everyone must know this...they are owned by allergan / activas and activas is cheap. Follow the money. I heard the Boca 2mg are very comparable to brand if not better but have yet to try them or find or ask for them and when I ask for brand name every pharmacy tells me they haven't been able to get brand name in for years. Little strange and lies I'm sure for profit saving. Any feedback on someone who has tried the big as brand and qualitest / par pharma please I would love feedback and how they compare to greenstone.
Re: joanie (# 16)
See I think everyone is different because sandoz works amazing for me and dava doesn’t do s***. I know I’m a late response but I’ve been on sandoz for years now and they switched to dava so I’m trying to find an alternative.
How the F do you get a doctor to give you 2 mgs? I've been on 1/2 mg 5 times a day since 1998 same doctor, I've looked into other doctors ,no doctor would give more than 1 mgs 4, times a day .
Goozer,
I am prescribed 1mg alprazolam and get the greenstone G3721 blue ovals, I read on posts back in 2012 that they were indistinguishable from Pfizer brand name xanax. Then I read in 2014 they changed the fillers binders and they were more placeboish and not as good... so did they go back to the original formulation that were so great before they made the change in 2014? If I understand you correctly you are stating that greenstone has gone back to the formulation that made them #1 best generic closest to brand xanax before the change In 2014?
Re: Lisa (# 82)
It seems like you are looking to pay brand name prices and unless rich that is just not possible for any middle-class people. Greenstone is made in the same lab as pfizer is under 10 bucks for generic. It sounds like you are getting dava if it's green and oblong. I'm happy to help, just let me know the city and closest pharmacies and i'll make some calls for you, but prep for no more as brand name is too expensive. I wish i could afford them myself but greenstone are right there with them. don't worry i'll help.
Re: Goozer (# 68)
So ive gotten ahold of some aurobindo scored y 20 1s. It doesn't say anything about extended release online. Is there any benzo in them at all? I'm skeptical they're just plain fake being from India and all. ANY help is appreciated
Re: Lisa (# 107)
no way everyone different cuz sandoz does nada for me
Re: Cherylteach (# 114)
expiration dates are a scam and don't mean anything. it is all how well you preserve your old medicene which can be just as effective and new as a current just dispensed tablet if preserved and stored correctly
Re: Goozer (# 38)
Hey, I'm late but I've been on actavis for years (1mg) and I just got switched to par pharma. Sooo im just worried I will withdrawal because they are no good. I take like 2 mgs a day. I generally split my actavis in half and sometimes chew them. I know that's bad for the teeth but I do. Soo what are your thoughts for me. I wish I wasn't on these but I am. It's been 5 years for me everyday. I don't feel euphoria but I have to have them because my body is used to them.
Re: Goozer (# 27)
I’m only two years late hopefully you’re still able to reply I was just reading this and I’m really hoping to get your take on “Mylan pharmaceuticals“ and would you also say that green stone pharmaceuticals to this day is still the best? And because it’s so difficult to even get these medications much less change the brand name what is your take on wall greens as far as Their ability to get the green stone Xanax?
