Belly Button Discharge

My age is 66 yrs. I have good health, no blood pressure, no diabetes etc. All along my life I had dry and clean belly button. I have only gastric problems for which I regularly take medicine (Probitor 20 ) for last two / three years. Three months ago I suddenly observed that my belly button was wet and some water like substance is discharged from it. This continued for a day and automatically stopped. During discharge there was no pain or bad odor. After 3 or 4 days same thing was repeated. Occasional discharge continued for about two months. I met a Doctor in Bangladesh and according to his advice some swap test was made. Nothing abnormality was observed At present I apply anti fungal ointment locally. I have observed that so long I apply medicine, there is no discharge and belly button is dry and clean. But if I stop applying medicine for two three days, discharge starts and continues for five six hours. During discharge there is no pain, irritation or bad smell. I have seen in internet that this may be corrected by surgery. I am very much afraid of this. So, if I continue applying medicine locally for a long time to control the discharge, what may happen?
How long should I continue? Can anybody please suggest

Have you tried consulted another doctor?

I am not familiar with this being a symptom of any medical conditions, but such is always possible and only by working with a doctor, or doctors, will you get to the root of the problem.


Probitor contains the active ingredient Omeprazole, it's a proton pump inhibitor that is used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach, but it isn't known to cause this type of side effect.
