Does anyone know when the drug companies decided to change Azelastine nasal spray from 240 doses to 200 doses? And who is supposed to notify the prescriber’s when they do something like this? I had a huge argument with my allergist because the bottle started getting smaller sometime last year and they must not have believed me because they refused to accept that it was running out early because there were only 200 sprays instead of 240 and I’m pretty sure it’s been like this since June. Does anyone know who is supposed to alert the public if a bottle of nasal spray suddenly decreases the volume by 40 doses? ## How many doses does your pharmacy state should be in the bottle? The FDA warns that this medication may cause side effects, such as bitter taste, drowsiness, hea...

Hi, I am looking for an equivalent of Duonase nasal spray from Cipla since its cost is on a higher side and i am looking for a cheaper substitute for the same. Appreciate your help on this. ## Hello, The Duonase nasal spray contains the following active ingredients: Azelastine Hydrochloride BP (140 mcg) + Fluticasone Propionate 50 mcg. Azelastine is an anti-allergic antihistamine and Fluticasone is a corticosteroid. This combination is used mainly in the treatment of Allergic rhinitis. I recommend that you ask your local pharmacist/chemist for a generic form of Duonase, or simply another product that contains the active ingredients mentioned above. They may be able to provide more accurate information about medications like Duonase that are available in a pharmacy near you. You may also...

I was using Bausch + Lomb eye drops for years with good results. Then insurance companies made me switch to generic Azelastine HCI by Apotex Corp and in the past 3-years I'm sure there were other manufactures because the bottle has not always looked the same. I've discussed the terrible side effects with Generic brand. I'm told it's the same as B&L but it's not. This Apotex Corp burned or stung so bad that I jumped in the shower with my clothes on. I've always put a drop on my inside wrist and wait a day before ever putting liquid in my eye and though this is not a full proof way of knowing if the drops will burn it certainly makes me feel a little more at ease before using. I never had a broblem until generic and now I'm using/trying many over the counte...

Is there such a drug? ## I was not able to locate any drugs called Astefin, I did find a drug called Astelin, which is used for symptoms such as sneezing and itchy, runny nose. It contains the active ingredient Azelastine. To read more information about this drug, please see: Do you have any more questions or information to add? Please post back if you do. ## Hi, ASTEFIN does exist, manufactured by NewPort in Costa Rica. Maybe it is another brand of Astelin I spent some time in Costa Rica a few years back, and was given ASTEFIN for a cold/flu. It worked well, in fact I kept the unused tablets for my own use later whan I returned to Europe. ## I have some astefin 100 which my wife bought in costa rica. She bought it per the advice of the pharmacist to treat my cold and sore throat. ## As...
