Aurobindo Norco

Updated

I have been taking 10/325 norco for many years. A few days ago I received my medication and found it had been replaced with Aurobindo Pharm U03 imprint. They make me feel very ill with a headache nausea and worse they do not take my pain away at all. I also feel very dizzy. How has the FDA approved this Indian company? Has anyone else had a problem with the U03 10/325 hydrocodone. Im frightened to take them but need pain relief.

Yes, your pharmacy couldn't dispense it to you, if it weren't FDA approved.

But there can be fluctuations from one generic medication to another, or when going from the name brand to a generic. That means this one may be slightly lower in the amount of the active ingredients, so it may not work as well for you as the other one did.

Usually, the fluctuations are so slight that it's just a matter of adjustment and your body will get used to it after a week or so of taking it. Most people don't even notice a difference.

Learn more Norco details here.

National Drug Code: 13107-021
Manufacturer: Aurobindo/Aurolife

Inactive Ingredients
-Silicon Dioxide
-Croscarmellose Sodium
-Crospovidone
-Magnesium Stearate
-Cellulose, Microcrystalline
-Povidone K30
-Starch, Corn
-Stearic Acid

If you continue having a problem with them, you may want to ask your pharmacy if they can order the others back in for you, or ask your doctor to prescribe it as 'brand medically necessary' so they can no longer give you a generic.

How are you feeling now?

Painfully scared,

You need to contact MedWatch at the FDA via: fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch

If you aren't sure about filling out the form, "MedWatchLearn" should help, it's new.

Aurubindo Pharm oxy-acet made me nauseous...but I had taken same drug ...by Alvogen...same dose... for a week just prior without nausea.

I've been taking Norco for 3 years for my back. I've taken different brands but this one is different. Makes me nauseous and sleepy. Don't like side affects but they do help the pain.

This generic NORCO (u03) simply does not take my pain away! It is total crap. It breaks my heart that my pharmacist would do this to me. Oh well, 15 more days to go on this crap, then back to Walgreen's or CVS... those who actually dispense the Watson Lab's equivalent.

How strange, I had the same issue with the same manufacturer. The symptoms you're mentioning are more likely from withdraw of the Hydrocodone. What happened to me is my regular pharmacy was short and could not fill my prescription. So I took my script to Sam's Club. Later in the day, after taking my second pill I started getting grumpy and a little nausea, with no pain relief. So I looked up this company, Aurobindo and found lots of issues, FDA violations along with posts like yours. This has happened once before, when Walgreens switched suppliers, with these chalky white pills from yellow. Needless to say I feel your pain, literally.

Good luck! Wallgreens is switching them all too! Using the cheapest version available which in my state is mallinckrodt which is junk and has been giving me chest pain, racing heart and worse provides no pain relief! Others have been saying actavis company has been bought out and the new Watson's are junk too and these new generics actually contain tramadol which numerous people have never taken but yet came up positive for it after taking these generic norcos being given to us by these greedy big pharma companies! What a sad sad situation this has become.

Pharmacy was giving me yellow norco 10mg. Now they gave me white norco 10mg manufactured by aurobindo. I'm confused because the pharmacy say it's the same. Please help. I feel different, the white ones do not take away the pain.

Same Club Flagstaff carries them. They give me the wake up effect after 40 minutes and work on pain... Frys carries different brand. They make me tired do not work on pain.
Been taking meds since 2006. Severe spinal problems.

Having the same problem. Was recently switched to the white with the U03. Caused me severe headaches and made me foggy and I know they are crap because Norco actually make me constipated which sucks but these have the opposite effect. I don't know of any opiates that cause diarrhea but I know that withdrawal does, which in turn means the white U03 pills are crap....literally!!

This med has me feeling strange and sometimes nauseous. This Indian company should not be allowed to sell this product in the USA. Doesn't help with pain much either.

Is Norco U03 generic 10/325? I dont know the difference. I was getting Mallinckrodt prior to this and I could tell a chemical difference.

My Von's pharmacy just bought a batch of Aurobindo. My 7.5/325 is not relieving the pain as well and only lasts about 3 hours. I have taken other brands for chronic back pain and various surgeries for years and have not had this happen. Will try other pharmacies next time. The sellers should be more responsive to complaints!

Caused me to itch really bad. I wanted to itch my skin off. Meijer pharmacy said it was cause it working better. Cvs pharmacy laughed at that and said it has to do with the binding starch. Calling my doctor Monday to switch to cvs they carry the Watson which doesn't bitter me.

They are fake!!! Did nothing for me at all!!! And yes they are from India, don't know too much about them at the moment, I just started looking Into it, because I had the exact symptoms you had plus I know for a fact a real pain pill from a fake one, and this has been the first time in over 10 years I have ever encountered this, that's how long I have been on pain pills, from a car accident, so believe me, your not imagining that crap! When I saw your question, I just had to reply, because I'm very pissed that people are passing this pill off as a real pain pill.

All the pain meds made by aurora pharmacy in India are garbage in my opinion and everyone else I've spoken to that's gotten them as well. Also found out that the FDA ALLOWS there to be a 20% difference, either way, of the active ingredient in any generic form of any medication. This means they seem weaker because they are. It's acceptable and allowed by the FDA that there be 20% less of the active ingredient, cuz we all know they're not going to have 20% more of it, which would also be acceptable and allowed. Typically, more of these drug companies are trying to save $$ by shorting the active ingredients. The sad part is the Food and Drug Administration allowing it.

Yes, I had a very bad reaction to these aurobindo hydocodone/acetaminophen tablets. They have TONS of fillers in them. They tell you they are from New Jersey, which is not true. They are bottled in New Jersey but they are made in India. They gave me headaches as well as nausea plus they gave me no pain relief whatsoever. I wrote them up and FDA sent me papers to fill out. So I told them we should never buy from India...no telling what kind of fillers are in them. Terrible medication.

They are right, you should report your problem. I have heard many people talking about this brand of medication and they are all getting sick or no relief. These are obviously cheaply made products and that is why some pharmacies are buying them to cut costs unfortunately at many pain patients expense. The more people who complain through the proper channels the better chance something could be done. I have stopped expecting the world to care much about our pain problems, but we can't go silent. That makes it too easy for them. Best of luck.

I also have been taking Norco 10/325 for years and from the same pharmacy. Then I got a refill last month and the pills were different so I asked and they said it was a different manufacture called Aurobindo pha. I get extremely dizzy from these and a slight headache which in the last 3 years has never happened to me from the usual manufactures Mallinckrodt. I thought something else was wrong with me because of how dizzy I was. Worst Month ever getting stuck with a bottle of 60 of these. I would not recommend these and they do not help with pain as well as the other brands do. CRAP!!

You're right, this aurobindo stuff is crap!! Our regular pharmacy got robbed so we had to go elsewhere...foolishly I assumed it was all the same but the percocet we were supposed to get is more like vicodin! This shouldn't be allowed plus the Dr. and pharmacy says it's too bad! And the end result is we suffer... Whatever!!

Yes . I too do it get any relief and am getting ill - upset stomach and headaches. I ran across a few from an old script - NIGHT & DAY!! I am extremely anxious about discussing with CVS .. I have been looking for hoursand this is the first current complaint I have located .

Having identical issues and now most pharmacies are carrying it. I did use the link to FDA and filed a complaint. Also read FDA sited manafacturer for health concerns that were unresolved upon reinspection. Bad tummy ache, nausea, and not effective for me as well. With all the hurdles we have to jump monthly its not fair to be distributed ineffective problematic medications.

Just got my first taste of Aurobindo's hydrocodone and i thought Mallinckrodt was bad (which it is)....both make me nauseous...dizzy...headaches....but aurobindo more nauseous, more headache and almost no pain relief....in fact extra pain that I didn't have....what is going on? Also, my blood pressure went up this year so i took inventory of changes and yes CVS changed makers of my lisinopril to Lupin....did a search and found others having the same problem...why is this allowed to happen? I understand the demand of drugs (and money profit) but why are pharmacies not responsible to do their homework....they are the ones who fill it for us. I sit here now an hour later and feel Aurobindo hitting my system compared to 15 or so min's of qualitest hydro (which has been the best I'm able to get) and nausea floods thru me....headache is increasing, skin is burning...feet are hurting. I feel as if i have been slammed into a brick wall and a depression that is not normal for me. I had noticed depression several weeks ago and tried to write it off but as i have taken these (3 weeks) it progresses.....my attitude is changing....no cheerfulness seems available to my mind and an anger seems to rise...qualitest doesn't do this....all it does is relieve pain and i can go thru the day.....Mallinckrodt is bad (not much pain relief and dizziness) but it doesn't do all this. I have been on hydro for at least 7 yrs....chronic pain from back surgeries.....hip replacement, ect. How can this happen? What are all these negative sides effects that are showing up? FDA i can get but our pharmacy is responsible too.

Re: Lin (# 38) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Lin. Sorry to hear about your experience with (Aurobindo/Aurolife) Norco. Have you had a chance to compare the list of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) in this version vs other manufacturers you've taken prior to this?

Here's more pill information for the 10/325mg tablet:

Pill Imprint: U03
National Drug Code: 13107-021
Active Ingredients: Hydrocodone Bitartrate + Acetaminophen

Inactive Ingredients
-Silicon Dioxide
-Croscarmellose Sodium
-Crospovidone
-Magnesium Stearate
-Cellulose, Microcrystalline
-Povidone K30
-Starch, Corn
-Stearic Acid

You can also file a complaint through the FDA's MedWatch program at:
fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch

I hope this helps!

I found that I need to take more of the aurobindo to get the same relief. Especially if my back is at it's worst, i may need 2-3 before 9am! good luck! Unfortunately they seem to be more concerned with what is on paper then actually helping patients. It's sad that the people who really need relief have to suffer.

I thought the pharmacy had given me the wrong medication so I googled Aurobindo norco and found this site. Never before did I get dizzy, nausea and headaches from norco until this RX of Aurobindo from Costco. There's something in these pills that is causing these terrible side effects. I'm not taking anymore of them. I have too much pain already without adding more to it. I'm seriously considering reporting this to the FDA.

I'm so glad I googled this brand and saw these comments! I thought I was going crazy..since filling my Norco at Meijer and getting this bogus brand I have been so sick, nausea, dizzy, headaches, fatigue, feels like my nerve endings are on fire and if I stand for more than a few minutes it feels like I'm going to pass out!! Even went to the ER today and of course they found nothing! I'm going back to Walgreens filling my prescription, they carry Watson..Not sure how I'll make it through the rest of the month on these crap pain pills..they cause more pain than they alleviate!!!

I've never had their Norco, luckily, but I have had their percocet. They're no better than a sugar pill with arsenic either. Aurobindo is total crap. Pretty much all the opioid manufacturers are total crap nowadays. I can't think of any that really work or don't have horrible side effects.

I remember years ago, I used to get vicodin/norco and percocet (watson, mallinckrodt) that not only worked for the pain, but actually had "feel good" side effects. Such formulations no longer exist.
