Aurobindo Mirtazapine Does Not Work
UpdatedIs anyone experiencing the same symptoms? I am on Mirtazapine 15 mg for over 10 years, and I am taking Aurobindo Mirtazapine since March 2015. Until Sept 2016, I don't have any problem. Now suddenly, I get dizzy sometimes, and my sleep has been shallow for the past three weeks, and last night I could not fall asleep at all. I have been experiencing withdrawal symptoms, my heart beats fast and I feel anxious throughout the day.
In 2010, there seemed to be the same problem in Mylan Mirtazapine.

I wonder if Aurobindo recently changed the factory. By reading the above link about Mylan Mirtazapine, I found it is very difficult to compose the pill and the effect is different from manufacturer to manufacturer.
My doctor told me to stop taking Aurobindo Mirtazapine and prescribed Teva Mirtazapine. I used to take Teva Mirtazapine 5, 6 years ago, and I remember they worked great.

Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, there can be differences between generic medications, this was done by the FDA to help bring generics to market faster, in hopes of using market competition to keep prices down. They are allowed to differ from the name brand, in the amount of the active ingredient, by as much as plus or minus 20%.
Many people never notice a difference, but some people are very sensitive to any slight fluctuation in their medications.
Problems can also occur due to the fact that the generics don't have to measure against each other, only against the name brand, so someone could conceivably suddenly end up being switched from one that was slightly higher in the amount of the active ingredient to one that is too low in it to work well for them.
I'm just trying to put this information out there, as often as I can, so people can be reassured that it is not all in their heads! There can be valid reasons someone has a problem with any given generic.
I had congestive heart failure a little over 6 years ago, so I have a standing prescription for Spironolactone, in case I experience fluid retention. Most generics work fine for me, but there is one that will give me diarrhea and severe heartburn, so I have to make sure to avoid that one.
If I were you, I'd follow my doctor's advice and take the one manufactured by Teva.
Is there anything else I can help with?
