Aurobindo Alprazolam Er Vs Greenstone Xr, Sandoz & Actavis Er (Page 2) (Top voted first)
UpdatedOk so a previous conversation I had with alprazolam user was with the newly approved Auribindo alprazolam ERs here in the US. They only make extended release here on US and they make instant release as well but do not believe they are approved in the US just the extended release ER/XR..and aurobindos is as follows:
.5mg er- x 72
1mg er- x 73
2mg er- x 74
3mg er- x 75
I have not yet tried any of the auribindo alprazolam products. I know they are made from India and just my preference I enjoy USA made medicine. I have been doing just great on all greenstone xr / er tablets and think they are great but within the last few years auribindo, sandoz, activas have made their own extended or xr or er version of alprazolam. The new sandoz er looks nice and well made but I have stayed away from sandoz since it started the press underground market and ruined sandoz alprazolam with all the fakes so I stay away from sandoz since and activas I stay away from depending on the medicine.
Which leads me to my question which is the best of most preferred alprazolam extended er and xr release: greenstone(my preferred but only tried activas er) sandoz activas or auribindo. I would love to hear your feedback and any experiences with these medicines as I take greenstone xr and was wondering if it is the most efficient but have not tried the Indian aurobindo or sandoz or activas er..which is your favorite and what do you all think of auribindo alprazolam er compared to greenstone xr alprazolam? Thanks can't wait for some feedback.
Greenstone or aurobindo or sandoz or activas on extended release which is best?
Re: Suzanne (# 18)
CVS finally special-ordered Greenstone 1mg xanax for me. Took nearly a month but I'm back on track.
I believe Aurobindo 2mg xanax produced in New Jersey while 1mg xanax generic produced in India.
Relieved to be off that cheap mix of crap and satisfied with Greenstone 1mgs.
Re: dazzy (# 21)
Agreed. 1-1/2 yrs on Aurobindo and I've just wanted to off myself. BTW CVS is now relying heavily on Aurobindo's 1MG generic and won't special order you a dang thing till your refill date.
The walls are closing in. I am in a hard taper.
Re: Jerry (# 19)
Why do you say say, how could that be true too? Have attributed constant and really weird head pains to a recent concussion, but they started before the concussion if I'm honest.
Still better than Aurobindo which was like speed on steroids, grind-your-teeth, tinnitus inducing hell-pills.
Getting off. Eff this.
So, I have a refill due soon, and I was fortunate enough to find a pharmacy that usually carries my preferred, AUTHORIZED Generic 2mg Greenstone Alprazolam in stock, and if not can and will special order it for me from their distributor, as it says on my CVS profile, "Greenstone Brand Only".
Years Ago, before I knew about the existence of Authorized Generics and their difference between normal generics (that only have to be 80% Bioequivalent to the name brand!), I tried just about every generic 2mg Alprazolam manufacturer out there, and about 10 years ago, the White ones, (Greenstone or Sandoz), and the Yellow "SchoolBuses", Made by Purepac until they were bought by Actavis were all solid choices. Then I started seeing the Green, "Hulks", and despite confusing popular opinion, I personally never really liked them! ONLY, the very first time trying one did I feel like it hit me strong. Every one I tried after that failed to have one of the main components/side effects I desire from this medication: Drowsiness.
I know everybody's body chemistry is different, but for example, even when I had a choice of the Dava's (Hulk's), I chose Sandoz, because they are significantly more sedating. Ironically, for being the only Generic 2mg Alprazolam version to have the emulcifier Crospovidone in it, The Green "Hulks" always seemed to have a delayed mechanism of action to me, and would take a good 45 minutes to an hour for me to feel anything, if I even did at all.
I was also fairly certain that at this point, after DAVA Pharmaceuticals was bought out by Endo Pharmaceuticals in 2017, that these Hulks would cease to exist. Evidently, they started being produced by Endo's Generic's Division: Par Pharmaceuticals, whom also make the Alprazolam ODT, or Orally-Disintegrating Tablets.
My Question is: According to the McKesson website, it appears as though a pharmacy COULD in fact still order the DAVA "Hulks", as they have the same NDC number and everything, but the bottle says Par Pharmaceuticals, and on CVS' website, underneath the picture of the tablet it says "Alprazolam Generic 2mg Tablet, Par Pharmaceuticals, an Endo Corporation.
If the Green "S 90 3" imprinted "Hulk" tablets, are still available, seeing as how the current patent is apparently set to expire this May, should I use one of my monthly refills to try the Dava/Par "Hulks" one last time? If McKesson can order them, considering I might not be able to get them again EVER, once the patent runs out? Or should I not mess with a good thing, a continue to get my Greenstone brand I prefer, which I think is the right choice, because as an "Authorized Generic", its' the only manufacturer whose formula is identical to the brand name's, and so it's like asking someone, "Which would you rather have: A can of Coca-Cola, or a can of Shasta Cola?"
Thoughts?
Re: Alejandro (# 1)
If you take excederin for a headache, and if works for you, but, then all the sudden you don’t have access to that brand, genetics don’t always have the same ingredients so it won’t have the same results taking away your headache.
Headaches are no less real that anxiety, so….. take a Xanax, and stop judging people.
Re: Jerry (# 19)
These are the blue y 20 pills right? I used to get 2mg and go to Walgreens and get yellow bars that worked great super strong. Then I just got 1mg alprazolam pills that are blue with y 20 on them. I took one and didn’t feel anything. It tasted like alprazolam but nothing happened. I even took another one and still didn’t feel anything. I started googling to see if they were counterfeit pills. I thought it was me. But these pills are crap right?
FYI, Aurobindo medication is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. Not only does it not work, and it has weird stuff in it that will make you feel worse, their factories have been in trouble multiple times for being dirty and gross. You can read about it on the FTA website. They had to stop making Adderall because it was so bad.
If you find yourself liking these Xanax better than others I would go out and get a drug panel and make sure they aren’t giving ketamine or something weird.
Re: Optimistic (# 64)
You are dead on! I’ve been on Xanax unfortunately since 2002 for severe panic attacks and have been through the horror of being switched to other brands by CVS with no notice. Aurobindo cost me an 80k a year job they were so bad and no one would listen. I got a great psych 2 yrs ago who puts greenstone on every order and found a mom and pop place that orders them. When Covid hit the pharmacy starting having issues getting greenstone. This has been going on for over a year now. They’ve always managed to come through but this month I was given the worst news I could hear, your greenstone is still 3-4 wks out on backorder but we got you Aurobindo!! I had just tapered down from 4 to 3 mg and was doing well and it’s unbelievable how ineffective this garbage is. How is this legal to sell this medication? I’m trying everything I can to get a new script but I may be stuck in Aurobindo hell for the next month. Anyone else running into shortages with ordering Greenstone?
Re: Hair (# 70)
I’m doing okay on them after they ( pharmacy) switched from greenstone. They seem to be a little stronger then the greenstone brand.
Re: EDDY (# 4)
THIS IS TRUE!! AUROBINDO BRAND IS TERRIBLE!!! I has some really odd side effects. Bad tension headaches, itchiness like fleas, having an allergic reaction. This particular brand is made in India. Luckily I have amazing Dr & didn't have to go to the zero. It was almost like a withdrawal effect as well. It messed me up TERRIBLE. I talked to 2 different pharmacists they said every brand has fillers in the pill. The pharmacist said we have more complaints about These (this particular brand) AURBINDO were by far THE WORST & SCARIEST brand I've taken. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED to BE PRESCRIBED PERIOD!!
aurobindo is the worst a[prazolam genric Xanax I have every took these are made in California I take 2 mg greenstone for anxietry an insominia it takes half as much greenstone as aurobindo
Re: suzanne (# 16)
Just started the Aurobindo. OMG. I feel like I’m on speed. Going back to Activas. Calling CVS and my doctor.
Re: QAGirl (# 22)
Sandoz xr? 3mg is what you mean?
Re: Mason (# 2)
I have had the worst month from this garbage audobindo brand. I take the Greenstone brand bur my pharmacy was out. I have had sleep difficulty and a constant hangover/brain fog feel. Never again. As far as recreational use, this does not apply to me, I take a very small dose to control anxiety period.
I have taken Alprazolam for months and not had any major problems with it’s effectiveness. Mylan by far worked the best, but now with Aurobindo I feel like I’m taking a “sugar pill”. The prescribed dose is 2mg as needed up to 4 times a day. The first day I took all 8 mg, despite not filling them until 5:00 pm. I didn’t sleep that night at all and the next day took just as many, with a tiny slice of relief from my anxiety. Usually I don’t take more than 2.5mg- 3 mg a day. I don’t want to have to depend on anything to help me feel “normal”. I filled this drug 03/23/2021. Please tell me, is anyone else going through the same thing?!?!?
Greenstone hands down. Aurobindo is dirty, headache laden junk, and they sell the immediate release here in the usa. I was stuck with it until I found the greenstone. The rest are inferior to greenstone as well in my opinion.
Re: EDDY (# 4)
Agreed, it's trash...
They keep changing my prescription it seems like every two months. Sandals work for me, now they got me a new one I haven’t taken it yet.AUROBINDO! Has anyone tried this new medication?
I have tried them all. For a while, greenstone was the best. Now I believe that Sandoz Product has the best efficacy.
Re: Sandy (# 6)
Yes; Sandoz has worked good for me the last 2 years. But yesterday my pharmacy that starts with a W gave me the generic Greenstone - OMG, I was awake all night & my hands went numb. Of course the pharmacy will not exchange it & my Dr.'s office said it must be something else doing it! It's 2022 & I'm afraid the days of getting the good generics is over due to shortages.
