The full dose is too strong for me and I am wondering if I can cut these in half without losing any of the medication strength? ## Hi Tony, Usually if there is a score line (divid) embedded into the tablet, it means the manufacturer purposely made it so patients could easily cut it in half. However, you may still be able to safely cut the pill in half if the drug itself is not in extended-release form. It is my own understanding that some extended-release pills loose their time sustaining properties if cut in half, depending on whether or not it is a capsule or a tablet; but please correct me if I'm wrong on that. Also, if you consistently feel the need to use half a dose, it may be wise to talk with your doctor about getting a lower dose of the medication. The drug itself shouldn...

isamox-clav 875 mg suitable for treating abcessed tooth? ## This is a generic for the antibiotic Augmentin, it can be used to treat various types of infections. It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more Augmentin details here. However, you shouldn't take it, unless your doctor or dentist has confirmed the presence of an infection and prescribed it to treat it. Doing otherwise creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Additionally, there has to be some underlying cause for a tooth to abscess, such as a deep cary and that must be corrected by your dentist, or the infection will just keep recurring. AMOX-CLAV 875 MG TAB can this med help with tooth infection also? my gum is swollen from the infection.... ## This is a generic for Augmentin, which is an antibiotic that's used to treat various types of bacterial infections. Learn more Augmentin details here. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Did your doctor or dentist prescribe it for this? If not, then you need to see one of them to confirm the presence of an infection and to ensure that you have enough antibiotic prescribed to finish a full course of treatment. Otherwise, if these are just leftovers from another infection and you don't have enough, it creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria.

My wife daugher had these pill so took 2 for my cold around 10 last night now I'm shaking , little diarrhea, nausea what should I do cold shake ## HI, Don! How are you feeling now? It is never advisable to take a medication that hasn't been prescribed for you. Is it okay to take this drug with uricare? I have a uti and have been using that for the pain/uncomfortableness. Is it safe? ## Hi, Court! Im have been taking clavamel forte 500mg/125mg twice daily for the last few days. Yesterday I was playing sports and noticed my hamstrings were extremely tight. I eventually had to stop after 10 minutes. Would this be an effect of clavamel? ## Hi, Robbie! Sorry about the problem you've been having. In some rare cases an antibiotic can cause tendon problems and you should contact your doctor immediately to have this checked out. It just isn't something you want to risk, having a tendon rupture or suffer permanent damage could cause many problems down the road. Learn more Clavamel Forte details here. Please, is the amox tr-k clv 875-125 mg tab allowed to take with b-complex 50mg without possible interaction? I have been taking b-complex for about 2 months. Then, some red rash developed at the lower part of my one leg from about below knee to about above ankle. The rash area is somewhat hot and painful. The amox appears to be applicable since the rash appears to be or is suspected to be bacterial nature. ## Has your doctor diagnosed the rash as being bacterial and prescribed the antibiotic? I'm asking due to the concerns caused by improper usage of antibiotics. If it's not a bacterial infection, then using an antibiotic creates the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. The same risk is present if you don't have enough of the antibiotic to finish a full course ...

I took one dose, 1 1/2 hrs later, vomiting, diaherra, sweating alot. Ended up in ER with dehydration, and hypothermia, temp @ 93 degrees. I'm guessing the sweating gave my hypothermia, since it's mid summer. Doc tried saying it was probably stomach flu. I got sick taking this med before, just not to this extreme. Apparently if my temp dropped more, I could of been in real trouble. ## Sorry about what you've been through, that's very rough. And I have to say that I am really not surprised. Though it isn't common, some people do react this way to some antibiotics. I had it happen from one that I took last year, though the worst occurred after 9 and half days of dosing, so it took several weeks for everything to clear up…..and yes, I had gone to the ER and the doc...

I NEED TO KNOW IF ITS OKAY IF 7 YEAR OLDS CAN TAKE AMOX/K CLAV 500MG Tablets? ## Hi, Taura! Were they prescribed by the child's doctor? will having wine while taking amox tr k clv 875 125 make it less helpful ## Hi, Poppie! How are you? This is a generic for the antibiotic Augmentin, which may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash, drowsiness and diarrhea. And the main issue from combining it with alcohol is that it can potentiate those side effects, so it may make you feel much more drowsy, dizzy and nauseous than usual, basically consider one drink being the same as having 2, 2 drinks like having 4 and so on, while you are on this medication. My wife (Diabetic) with history of bladder infections, went to doctor with ache/pains and strong difficulty swallowing, was diagnosed with ear and throat (swollen) infection. Prescription was AMOX -CLAV, 1-tablet every 12-hr. She has been on subject pill for 24-hr's w/o any discernible change, complaining of strong body ache/pains and difficulty swallowing. How long should I rely on pill, if no change, before returning to doctor... or going to hospital? ## Hi! Sorry she's so miserable! The general rule for antibiotics is that there should be no worsening after they've been taken for a full 24 hours and improvement should start within 72 hours (3 days), so if you see worsening or there's no improvement after that time frame, she'll need more medical attention. This is...

I NEED TO KNOW IF ITS OKAY IF 7 YEAR OLDS CAN TAKE AMOX/K CLAV 500MG Tablets? ## Was it prescribed by the child's pediatrician? If not, then no they should not be given to them. I'm not trying to say this is what you are doing, I just want to make the warning the clear. However, if it was prescribed by their pediatrician, then yes it is a dosage used for children for bad infections.
