Asymptomatic Mitral Valve Regurgitation

My wife recently underwent knee replacement surgery. The day before the procedure, she had an ECG and 2D echo tests. The doctor informed us that she has a mitral valve problem and inquired if she had been experiencing any symptoms such as murmurs, dyspnea, or excessive tiredness. My wife has never experienced such symptoms and is reluctant to undergo any further check-ups unless she develops these symptoms. Could you please tell me the name of the medicine that cardiologists typically prescribe for this type of valve problem?

She should definitely have it checked out, before developing symptoms. Once symptoms appear, she could have already experienced permanent damage to her heart, and there is a risk of complications from MVR being fatal.
